  1. I'd be up for a square one We don't have road tax here, but we do have stupid 3" square insurance discs that we have to display.
  2. Looking good. I mix my snow foam with a quarter of the bottle filled with Megs Hyperwash, which gives a really nice thick coating.
  3. All sorted! Had the guys round today to take a look and quote. They reckon 3 hours and £150-£180. They're round Monday to do the deed. Well please it's not going to eat into the car mod budget too much
  4. Nuts should be easy enough, not like the car's years old. Mine came off easy enough with a bit of WD40, but not sure that was even needed. To be honest it shouldnt take them more than an hour or so to fit it, so given the choice of paying £60 or freezing your nuts off outside for a few hours, I know which one I'd choose!
  5. Fairly good news as mine's the only 40th on the island, so looks like that is likely to stay!

  8. Excellent, cheers guys. It was actually the Jersey Gas engineer that suspected it might be asbestos when he came to see if the boiler was repareable on Friday. The engineer and surveyor came around today and checked the flue and took samples. They weren't really sure by the time they left but called this afternoon to confirm that it was. Trouble is there's only two yellow page Asbo removers, one number was dead and other just an anserphone. Have left a message but kind of stuck until they call, before I know what the damage is going to be. Good to know it might not be as bad as I thought though
  9. Cheers guys. The flue runs from the 1st floor cupboard, up through the ceiling into the roof space, then along a bit and then up to vented ridge tile on the roof. Not sure if the whole flu is asbestos or just some of it, although the whole thing has to come out. It's going to have to be a pro job though. The father in law has asbestosmosis, so they're fk'all chance of my Mrs letting me anywhere near it! Have a put a call in to a local remover, so hopefully get an idea by the end of the week. Hopefully wont have to sell a kidney, otherwise we'll just have to be cold for a while!
  10. To top off our gas warm air central heating boiler packing up a week ago and and being condemned, Jersey Gas have also now confirmed that our flue is also made of Asbestos and needs to be removed so that they can fit the new boiler and a replacement flue. Anyone know how much something like that it going to cost to remove? Are we talking 00's or 000's?
  11. Yeah me too. Given up fags as well, and our gas central heating boiler has packed up completely now and it's going to take 5 weeks to get a replacement. So, aggrevated, depressed and cold!
  12. Haven't really noticed anything yet, although haven't really been able to get more than a couple of hundred miles on it, what with all the snow, xmas and being drunk quite alot
  13. Stainless Steel jobby. I imagine a Titanium one would be 2 or 3 x the price.
  14. The Berk CBE is quite nice and was actually the one I had settled on before I saw the Akra. Sounds great and and I like the OEM style back-cut outlets as opposed to the straighter Stillens. Worth a look anyway.
  15. I haven't found the need too so much on the 370, although I had one on my old 350. One thing I did come across the other day was an identical looking (to the D1 spec) controller that changed the way the AT behaves, I think it lets you vary the RPM level at which it changes gear. Although since fitting the exhaust I'm in manual mode 99% of the time (once the oil temp needle gets off the 70 minimum), so a AT controller won't be much use to me.
  16. I had thought about just getting the backbox myself and then getting the pipework at a later date, but figured if I was going to fit it myself I might as well get it all done in one hit. I think the price difference was about £700ish. Not cheap!
  17. Blimey, glad I'm not in the mainland! It's about 95p a litre here.
  18. Must be the time of year! Our gas warm air central heating boiler is makign some aweful noises at the moment, so have the engineer coming on Friday to take a look at it. We had a quote last year for a replacement boiler (only does the heating) with fitting etc, which came to £2,463, and that was after a £847 discount. Looks like I should of got off my a*se and got it replaced last year, rather now having to pay for an engineer to patch up the 40 year old existing one as well as paying for a replacement
  19. Black 350z flying along the inner Esplanade at 8.55am - anyone on here? Thought it might have been Oz but didn't sound like it had a Nismo on it.
  20. Ok, think I found it. Was it much of a ballache to fit?
  21. So when are we getting the Install guide
  22. Yeah, still tempted. I like the idea of getting the intake pipes powdercoated red with crinkle finish Plus Abbey are only 27 miles from the inlaws, so a visit to them with a trip down the road to Abbey thrown in might be in order
  23. Interesting. Might give those a try before chopping up the car to fit the Stillens.
