  1. I've just been doing a search for the very same question. Here's the answer http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=15208&hilit=iphone
  2. I've been reading up on reviews of the various year of Z's and I think I mistook a line where it said that it had revised "exhaust valves" and presumed it meant in the exhaust, rather than the engine ones!
  3. Thanks for the replies everyone. I did get an email from the dealer earlier in the week and he told me that it was first registered on the 3rd April 2006. Very odd. Not sure if I should now ask for even more of a discount - he's given me £1,500 off so far, plus is arranging for their bodyshop to respray the bonnet (stone chipped) for free. Whatcha reckon?
  4. It's a Jersey Car so that's the proper plate The headlights have the little projector type lens in so I though that they were xenon's? What about the LED rears?
  5. Well that's what i thought it should go like but it didnt seem so.........a little unsure why and whether I should be steering clear of this one! http://www.belroyalmotors.com/Used-Cars/350Z-3.5-V6-313BHP-GT-Pack/ Also, I'm unsure of the year. The garage said it's a 2006, but I distinctly remember the hazard warning button being near the handbrake rather than under the radio - isn't that a 2005 interior? It's has 18 rays (the ones with the dots in the spokes), bi-xenon headlights and LED rears, heated seats, electric folding mirrors. Any other tell tale signs of the correct year?
  6. Hi Guys I took out a 10,000 mile 06 out on Saturday for a test drive. I found the acceleration was a bit less compared to my old 2.7 boxster. I also noticed that the exhaust seemed really quite all the way through the rev range. I did mention it to the garage and they are going to service the car before I collect it on Thursday. I'm wondering whether the valves in the exhaust are maybe not opening correctly? At what rev range do the valves open? I'm a bit scared that i'll be zooming around a corner when they might decide to unstick, leashing a big dose of power!
  7. No VAT, and we dont have road tax here either. Instead we now have GST (similar to VAT @ 3%) plus VRD on new cars - vehicle registration duty. Anyway....couldnt sleep last night - looking forward to the test drive
  8. Yeah I'm off to test drive this one tomorrow:- http://www.belroyalmotors.com/Used-Cars/350Z-3.5-V6-313BHP-GT-Pack/ They offered me £1,500 off for cash sale, with the bonnet resprayed for free and 12 month warranty. The original garage I bought me box from is buying it back off me. Just taken the Mrs out for tea and she's going to cover the £750 that I'm short so I can keep the 100-400mm
  9. Yes mate, went for stupid money - 750 quid I think. Not bad when it costs me 600 or so! I never really though it was that sharp anyway, so you didnt miss out. I ended up buying a lovely 100-400mm IS, but I'm 750 quid short on what i need for the 350z, so it looks like i'm now going to have to flog it. Real shame as it's a great copy. It'll sell really easily though as I missed out on loads of auctions on fleabay before I finally bit the bullet and spent the extra to get one. I was hoping to get one for 800 or so but ended up having to spend 920 for it. Did you get yourself sorted in the end?
  10. Thanks for all the tips guys. I'm taking it for a test drive tomorrow, and have the cash sorted. At the moment the boxster scares me......too many engines blowing and I've got no warranty! I did notice when i looked at it the other day that there were loats of stone chips on the bonnet. The dealer is offering to respray it for free, which I presume will mean it'll be less prone than the standard paint job to re-chipping? I'll also get a 12 month warranty from them too. Is the CD headunit a double din size? If I decide a little further down the road that I wanted satnav could I fit a double din unit in there?
  11. Hi Nick It's me from 'the other side' as well! Good luck with the hunt, looks like my 2001 box is going next week for a 2006 350z. cheers Paul
  12. Hi everyone. I been browsing through the technical section for the past few days to get an idea of what a 350z is like and general reliability. I'm currently torn between selling my 2001 2.7l Boxster and getting a 2006 350z or holding onto the Boxster. My box is pretty nice http://www.digitaljersey.co.uk/detailed/dsc00831.jpg but it's getting on to 9 years old and i'm really worried about the catastrophic engine failure issues - my mate blew his similar car (year/mileage) in France last year and it cost him £12k to fix and it's not a uncommon issue. I've had a few niggly problems with it recently and think that now's probably the time to offload it before I get a hefty repair bill for something! The 350z I've got my eye on mthis one for £15,500 cash price http://www.belroyalmotors.com/Used-Cars/350Z-3.5-v6-313-BHP-GT-Pack/ has much better spec than my boxster and I actually prefer the 350z interior (from seeing the pics). So generally speaking how reliable are 350z's? Do you think it's a good price? Thanks Paul
