  1. Don't say things like that to me. there'd be big trouble if I went and bought another car. I only just got away with a guitar. Buying houses is such a bore! Soon though, soon...
  2. Totally agree - how could anyone suggest such a cool car would ever go out of fashion? The only reason I have a 350z is because I was looking at buying a 240z as my every day car, when I realised I could get the newer, more reliable car for less! One day I WILL own a 240z...
  3. Yeah, I think when you're looking at a £500 item, it would work out at about £650 (for a musical instrument), which is about what they'd be worth in the UK, if not slightly more. So I'm just going to keep my eyes open over here for now. You do have to pay tax/duty on used or refurbed goods, just the same. Even 'gifts' over £40 incur similar charges, so in this case it's just not worth it. Damn! Good job I got out-bid then!
  4. Mine's got one more seat than I need. That's practical for me!
  5. Here you go mate: http://store.apple.com/uk/browse/guide/windows
  6. So what if they sent me a gift? So if I bought a guitar for £500 +10% =£550 + 17.5% = £646.25... Well feck that then! May as well buy one from here. Robbing bar stewards! Good job I asked, because I was going to spend more than £500 on importing one...
  7. Hi guys, I'm looking at importing a Gibson guitar from America as I can get a good price including delivery. However, it just dawned on me that I may be stung with import tax or duty or whatever they call 'raping' me. Is there anyway of finding out if, and how much I will be liable to pay. Is it on everything imported from the US? Can I not get around this at all? Cheers for any ideas.
  8. To get round the insurance do what I did a year or so back. Visit your local friendly garage and offer them beer token if they use the press/vice for you. Take em 2 minutes and they'll make a tenner. (Or whatever currency you use over there )
  9. Still on it! Still got a few bits to sort out. Trying to find the most cost effective way of sorting gaskets and nylon bits. Considered liquid gasket for ease/price, but not sure how you'd all feel about that? Also considering laser cutting if it'll save mcuh on the overall cost. Maybe get it below the £100 mark. Maybe... Otherthanthat it's looking good
  10. +1 (Waits for price of kit ) Best fo luck mate, sure you won't need it
  11. I recently read Octane when in the dentist and enjoyed it quite a lot. It had a piece on the history and reviews of all the TVR models, Porsche comparisons and classics too. (I like my classics). It's a much more down to Earth kind of mag, rahter than the lottery winners mags like Evo. I do buy Evo quite often, I think it's well written. Top Gear has too many exclamaition marks for my liking. It's one small step from being txt speak.
  12. Americans! Makes me laugh all the 'God has a plan for you' bullshit. Yeah, god wanted him to die in a car crash! That car was a real mess. I'm surprised he got out alive at all. Lucky bogger.
  13. £75??? I don't know whether to or Gigantic is also quite a good ticket website and they're one of these eco friendly companies that are springing up everywhere. As far as I know most of the big ticket companies are connected in one way or another.
  14. I was looking for a thread that someone posted up about camera techniques after Shires photo thread and I can't seem to find that now either. Perhaps I'm just being blind though... Do they make brail internet forums?
  15. I'm about 5' 10" and I don't find the seats that comfortable. Coiuld do with lumbar adjustment and steering wheel reach adjustment to make it properly comfortable. I'm constantly adjusting mine and never got in that comfortable. Think I'm just fussy I suppose if you're otherwise happy with the motor you could look into investing in a pair of aftermarket front seats and runners.
  16. I like how he gets up and tries to play it cool by doing a Gallagher walk! Bafoons.
  17. One thing evreyone's overlooked: You'll need a red car.
  18. I like this technique. And it seems to work... (Matt walks into Nissan dealership)... Matt - £30,000 for a brand new 370z? Dealer - I thought that was the going rate. Okay, make it £15,000, delivered. Matt - You sir, have a deal.
  19. I thought I could see some sharpening and colour alteration going off. I know nothing about this kind of stuff though. Did you take some kind of light on the shoot? What kind of settings do you use on your camera? I'm looking at getting a decent one but really am only just starting to be interested... (sorry for thread hijacking)
  20. I know it's already been said, but: Don't go there.
  21. I don't think your death involving a product you invested in could be described as ironic (unless you're Alanis Morisette). However, if it had been written as a comedy sketch it would have been funny... Sounds like he was a generous chap. Which makes it more of a shame as they're rare enough as it is.
  22. That's the plan That's actually what I'm working on now... Hmmm...
  23. They do look good but gets expensive when you add the Bluetooth option too. (Assuming you can't use the factory kit with it?)
  24. Your car makes my pants moist. Photos are pretty impressive too. Wish I had those skillz (that's right skills with a 'z'). Are they photoshopped much?
