  1. My 350gt is a weekend car, just renewed at 425 quid with sky insurance. They matched quotes from confused.com All mods declared, only 3000miles a year I was 500 last year. 10 years ncb
  2. If this was stuff I had read online I would agree with you col, but on more than one occasion I have spoken to mechanics when I have had issues with different cars and they said it was partly due to being run on supermarket fuels. Granted these were not performance cars so the comparison they made was standard 95 ron but they said momentum had the same differences Like I mentioned before, hundreds if not thousands of zeds have been run on standard 95 ron, and no difference in performance or engine problems noticed. That doesn’t mean they should continue to be run on 95 ron. Problems can arise, but won’t arise with every case
  3. I’m usually a cheapskate mate- Scottish and Pakistani I’ve always tried to save money where possible but when I’ve been told there is a risk of using these fuels and best to avoid at all costs, that’s exactly what I’m doing
  4. So if Tesco did one brand car oil, met all the requirements for your car, next to it was a branded oil for a pound more, which would you go for? If a budget tyre brand made a tyre that was all the same grades as MPS4S, in the real world you dont know how well they actually perform, would you try them or stick with tried and tested? (That ones for Dan) Same question with brake pads and other consumables on a car
  5. True. But fuel is vital to a car and lower grade fuel can affect how a car runs. So take your crisp analogy and shove it where the sun don’t shine Dan Or you could compare it to something like dishwasher tablets, or washing powder. A cheap brand will pass all requirements and do the job fine. Or you could get something of a known brand
  6. So do you feel like Asda’s own brand crisps or would you prefer walkers for a few pence more?
  7. I don’t have the evidence I was told by 3 different mechanics to avoid them When I had my zed I ran it for around 2 years on standard fuel before finding out about the need for premium. Never had any issues. Would I run my 350gt on standard? Nope, course not. But how many zeds out there have been run on standard and haven’t had issues They weren’t saying every car run on supermarket fuels will have issues but there’s a much higher chance due to the differences
  8. The damage won’t be noticeable in a few tankfuls though, it’s years down the line. The same as running 95 ron won’t be noticeable in a zed until damage is seen in the future And don’t believe everything you see on watchdog. My cousin was interviewed by watchdog when he was working for a company who were featured on the show. He was manipulated into saying what they want us to see, not the truth. It’s an entertainment show just like anything else on tv
  9. Have to agree. I thought they were genuine Nothing wrong with running reps, I am too. But go for a sticker that doesn’t have different branding or colour the calipers instead
  10. Yep I don’t think the performance will vary much but after the mechanics who mentioned it to me, decades of experience between them, said it’s the long term effects of usage that is the issue If something is cheap it’s cheap for a reason
  11. With these small amendments there’s a difference in performance in detailing products as your tests show. The same will go for petrol
  12. I’ve heard from a few places now that supermarket fuels should be avoided. And that wasn’t just for performance cars He said the cheap additives are what make them more problematic
  13. Welcome along from Glasgow. We have monthly meets across here at the quay and will be doing some of the shows as well. Got a stand booked by Zcotland in Bo’ness in June
  14. Welcome along. Plenty of us have had skylines and s bodies on here. Had a 33 gtst after my zed, now I’m in a 350gt Any pics?
  15. Nope, free forum and no minimum posts before selling
  16. Sign up it’s free Rare branded stuff will have more chance of selling there, give it a go if eBay doesn’t work
  17. You might have more luck trying to sell the old ones on driftworks
  18. Much better. Rear spacers will improve it more
  19. Sorry to hear about the skyline
  20. I think the front looks a bit soft but the rest I can live with. Not a fan of these wheels I was driving behind a supra the other day and that had awesome road presence. That’s what’s lacking with this. I still think of it as a bigger gt86
  21. I was with admiral for 9-10 years. Always the cheapest and yearly renewal didn’t always go up, always came down unless there was a claim. That was with 5 cars at one point on a multicar policy. They even honoured that over 2 addresses at one point. It was only after that period other companies were cheaper
  22. Nice.... but.... I prefer your old ones and I don’t normally like dark wheels
