  1. Been going to F1 races for over 20 years and not an armchair enthusiast So whats the great Schumi done this year then so far? When he wins this year i will eat my hat Oh and i never said Red Bull will win i said should!!!. I am hoping Lewis wins and shows us why he is by far and away the best racer on the grid at the moment. What does 20 years experience amount too? ................. that you are the F1 oracle Or that any other view or prediction is wrong It a long season and i will personally buy you that hat - for humble pie when Schumi wins a race Anyway i disaggree that Lewis is the best driver on the F1 grid How did you arrive at this conclusion. The fact is he made a meal of winning his campionship and needed "help" from in Brazil to when. Remember how he choked the year before. And repeating you what has he done this season that puts him above all others. I will not deny that the boy has ball but thats it, the rest is overhype he is not the new schumi or senna Just to further my point, I can say this with 100% confidence that he will not win this race
  2. Not sure F1 is your strongest subject I expect all of those facts to be wrong The Red Bulls should easily win, the only hope is that Lewis nails one of them into the first corner. Oh and Button has yet to wipe the floor with Lewis this year so i dont get where you get "again" from? The Red Bulls have had more than enough chances to do well and they blow them all!!! Webber pulls a few school boy errors everytime and Vettell well he should be good but never comes through with the goods. As for Button wiping the floor with Hamilton, that's not really true. He has beat him and had more podiums this seasons but he hasn't wiped the floor with him. Whatever happens I'm fairly sure the Red Bulls will not produce a 1, 2 finish! I'm going to be looking out for a winners drive from Schumacher I think he's getting better with every race, I bet he renews his contract if he comes close to winning the championship title just so he can get another world title! If there is to be another winner other than the Red Bulls i would expect it to come from Mclaren and hopefully fom Lewis. I am just hoping there race pace will be closer to the bulls. Sorry cant see Schumacher winning or even getting close to the championships, his best days are behind him now. Dave, i think you are going to eat your hat mate if Formula one was only about practice and quali pace then all the teams may as well pack and go home as RB will win everything but thank god there are so many other variables hence we will see whos predictions come close As for Lewis and butto the results speak for themselves To say Schumi has past it then it really sums up your F1 . BTW i said podum not win in this race, however just wait for his car to be as competitive as the RBs and then will see
  3. Don't give up Husky I am still waiting confirmation on the availability of 345mm x 30 mm rotors. We could be on to a winner if this is available as it will only be a case of addressing the bracketry to fit this to the Brembo calliper and hub. However because the costs will be close to the cheap BBK set up already in the market it will be purely a technical challenge for you as the only extra cost is the bracket since you need to buy pads and rotors anyway If you choose to now then thats also cool
  4. Thanks wasso for seeing this as pure a technical exercise My observations pointed out other options with your budget. I disaggree with the comment of the SC being more stressful than periodic NOS shots. High boost and torque is the killer and you get with NOS while a SC has linear delivery directly related to revs, and if set with low boost it produces mild torque increases and therefore very reliable. For a comparable setup between both it will be safer and cheaper in the long run than NOS. The big concern is controling fueling safely with NOS. Progressive delivery cuts down the risk but things can still go boom easily with uncontrolable issues such as poor fuel quality Unless you are planning a full assault race car carbon panel replacement is too expensive when the funds will benefit other parts of the car which will make you faster i mentioned loosing carpets, spare wheel and sticking lighter seat, Rays (or even lighter 17" wheels), exhaust - worth close to 100kgs. Enjoy your modding and keep us posted as its always nice to see how others get alog with different routes to improve performance
  5. you nutter no offence taken. i just dont buy into it, thats just me I believe God created Adam and Eve Im afraid, but if people believe in Evolution then fair play to them I respect that But don't think you can say its pretty much fact, "pretty much" and "fact" still leaves room for an alternate possibility I do believe in adaptation, but not evolution Jay, i think you are right to be taken aback by your mates GF behaviour. You are entitled to your own opinions and beliefs and nothing is factual. But there is a "strong" case for one than the other depending on your perspectives. In such situations you either walk away since the other person is unwilling to respect your views but if it was a stimulating exercise in intelectual balls swinging with a resonable debater you would find that there are more evidence for evolution than creationism but also in fact that they both have a place to explain life as we know it You cannot ignore the evidence or claim ignorance of the subject as you will leave yourself open to attack from maniacs like that GF eg when you saythings like you believe in adaptation only.................. because evolution is adaptation and vice versa
  6. I aggree with Sarnie the TT has no business on that list and even the Z4 unless its the Z4M Any car on that list will be a good choice and the the Noble GTO should be considered, so should a well sorted R34 and Lotus exige S2 I will to test drive all if possible before making a choice But for at 13-15K a UK GT 2006 Z will leave you with 10-12K to play with....................... 400-450WHP Vortech SC'd with forged internals anyone
  7. This is where the season really starts redbull looks good but i will put my dosh on the fezzas and a podium for................................... schumi Also Button to wipe the floor with Lewis again
  8. looks lets see some pics on the zed
  9. Slippery slope Simon Would'nt touch kinetix though! try Zmanalex if someone has it lying around then it will be him. I sold my Berks HFCs as there was not much gains from it compared with the stock cats with my setup at the time What do you have in mind if you are looking for one of these
  10. As said already more info needed on the clutch issues and then you could be helped or directed the right way
  11. Hey Ian matey, there is nothing to agree or disagree about as the lad has got his nitrous. i just pointed out options he could have had for that budget with more thought But for the sake of argument you can have a used vortech for $3500 with its preset SS box or unichip PB, FMU and all the necessary hardware as would have been delivered from Vortech for a bolt-on install with no other stuff/parts or tuning required unless you want more power then you need to safeguard against fueling issues Also WRT to my first option it is not just a track setup as you think just sensible stuff to make a 1.5K ton car quicker in real life. you can easily loose 100kgs from a zed without breaking the bank
  12. Just caught up on this now but i am sorry to say that though i applaud your effort its not well thought out You would have a much "faster" car with well thought out combo of used and new parts and improved car handling tuition option 1: A rays with grippy tyres, 4.08 final drive, front brake upgrade, suspension upgrade and usual plenum spacer, decats or HFCs and y-pipe upgrade with Uprev reflash and finally any kind weight shedding( remove all carpets, spare wheels, replace seats with cheap bucket seats etc) can be achieved within the £3000 budget you started with yes you would have only gained about 30HP but its there all the time and safe you will be wasting your money on the ARC box. Swap the OEM box to the 2006 setup if you car is prefacelift! option 2: A used OEM Vortech SC kit with no other engine upgrades would still deliver a very safe 330-350 WHP all day long and could be had for $3000-3500 living you a lot of change for some of the items mentioned above Option 3: Have a defitive plan and do things in stages over time spreading the costs Nitrous is the least likely option and would only last for so long (have you checked how long a 10kg bottle would last if you used it frequently ) and be mostly useful in drag situations and that's not "fast" . especially when you run out But as they say to each their own so what matters is you and that you are happy
  13. WTF you could have fitted this yourself safely on axlestands during the weekend it bolt/clip on Also interesting how both got bad at the sametime
  14. +1. The zed is very solid especially if looked after but you will get more car(less mileage/ less owners)for your 10K + PX so shop around and don't be lazy Here you go to start you off : http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/list.a ... =&nodays=0
  15. I dammaged one of mine when i accidentally crossthreaded it while swapping HFC's but it cost £80 to replace
  16. nice find! somer of them are really funny!
  17. Nice one we are all waiting with baited breaths!
  18. Adam, You made the right decision and it was about time
  19. i hope he can too any news on your beast?
  20. See pups, i understand that you are not looking for a performance upgrade just cosmetics but without trying to appear i'm knocking down your idea its not going to work or if it does it will be dodgy. I hope i have exposed the potential issues and alternatives but i would be happy to be proven wrong Can you also tell me how a stock brembo on a bigger rotor ie if you could make it fit and work will perform better than the stock brembo on stock rotors?
  21. No it doesn't make sense The K-sport BBK is light years better than the stock Brembos and BTW is not a like for like comparison IF you are implying that adapting a bigget rotor to the Brembo calliper makes it a BBK then you are wrong mate. It will still be a 4pot with the same swept area so the performance will be the same as the stock one If you mean the defacto Brembo GT BBK then they are way way more expensive than the K sports just like then AP racing or other big brands which is why bang for bucks people buy lesser known brands like K-sports, D2, KAD etc in the first place http://www.opieoils.co.uk/product-finde ... it#results
  22. c'mon guys you are too harsh I do agree about passing her SBD many moons ago But she has something in her mouth.......................I hope its not a "gift" from the boss man before the advert was shot There is hint of hyperactive thyroid issues which does not help
  23. Why are you trying to make something when there are solutions to this prob? If you really need big discs to fill your new wheels just get a BBK and sell your Brembo(calliper/disc/pads/lines) You should get about £700-900 or so for it and offset the cost of a complete K-sports BBK - 356/8 pots front and 356/6 pots rear with street pads all in for £1800 inc VAT and delivery The street pads are unbranded DS2500 or similar compound so will be good for reasonable trackdays if you are ever inclined. I used these pads for 25 laps on the Ring before swapping to race compounds and they held up everytime for up to 4-5 back to back laps and needed cooling to regenerate th performance. This is because they are inherently softer and less aggresive, so if used for a long trackday there is a likelihood of pad transfer and ghosting as i found out which is easily sorted by bedding in procedure or light skimming. However for street as you would likely use it, no such problems will arise and it is quiet, makes very little dust and the disc will last This must surely be safer and cheaper in the long run than adapting some other set up to the Brembos callipers
