Im trying to avoid the raspy sound that iv heard with cars fitted with HFC's, or maybe its just the Berks, i dont know

Just a quick ask if anyone has any HFC's and/or a Y pipe for sale for a DE engine. Just thought id ask before buying everything brand new.

Sorry, but im sure some of what happened to STR was luck that weekend. When you are towards the back of the grid,you try different things, as you have nothing to loose. Im sure Ferrari McLaren BMW and Lotus etc wanted to play things safe, hence why they were left for dead. Im glad someone has mentioned Brazil last year, is that the same bloke that cant race? What about the race today,im sure the commentators said something along the lines of "Seb is going to have a job on his hands to win this race", and what do you know.... I think people just hate it when someone is THAT good, yes he has a good car, but MW hasnt exactly been a title contender this year has he, and he is not a bad driver.

Are replacement standard cats an option, or are they not worth it over HFC's?

So you have met and had interaction with F1 drivers previously then? Lewis went to Merc, because he was offered more money, and probably could see that this years car was not going to be that competitive, no other reason, depite what people have said. As for the car, Adrian is a genius, without a doubt, and F1is all about pushing the boundaries in every aspect, so tough sh!t if you dont aggree with that. Schumacher drove people away from F1,me included, AND he was the undisputed No1 driver, so always had a rear gunner in that respect, and no matter what you think or say, you cant say that about Mark and Seb. Jetset- no I dont "know" SV, but iv had a fair amount of exposure to him at various races, and xmas parties etc, so can talk about him with more knowledge than most, i also interact with some of his mechanics, who also seem to agree with me. Yes he is determined, and yes he has said and done things that maybe he shouldnt have, but so did Schumacher. People dont seem to understand the mentality that drivers have to have in order to do well. People talk about arrogance with Seb, personally, I think Jenson is one of the worst, but thats my opinion, and im entitled to it.

He really is one of the nicest drivers going, and is so down to earth, and just because he GF isnt at the races all the time, and he keeps his private life private, and is he own person, and not a media slag, dont mean he is an arse.

Im sorry, but if you knew anything about F1 drivers, you would know that Seb is probably one of the most down to earth drivers going, As for arrogance, ALL F1 drivers are arrogant, they have to believe they are best on the grid. Not a racer? You one of these people that thinks SV cant overtake, i think he has proved that 10x over.

Why do you say that? The guy is 26, and is on the brink of getting a 4th consecutive title, he is breaking records nearly every other week, so what is there not to respect?

I understand what you are saying, Im just asking if not having the flexi joints puts more pressure on things like the headers thats all, as they are the only bit that is fixed, as they are bolted to the engine. Maybe there is enough movement in the bushes.

I was awake at 4am, got out of bed at 5. Woke up and started to think about how what to do about the car, and then started to think about the race. Looking forward to watching it live yes.

Does someone make a Y pipe with a cat in it?

The engine rocks backwards and forwards too under acceleration and backing off surely. Not saying your wrong, just my view that nobody else sells a Y pipe that is solid, all the others have flexi joint,which makes manufacturing them harder, and more expensive than having some bent pipes welded up. Open to being wrong obviously. Im sure the Stillen is very well made, but dont know why its as expensive as others when it appears to be cheaper to make.

My view on them, is that the flexi's are there to help with engine rocking and movement of everything. Surely if you keep everything rigid, there is more chance of things breaking.

Well I found out yesterday that my cats and my Y pipe have had it, so need replacing. Wondering if its possible to get new standards cats, or if everyone just goes down the HFC route? Also wondering what the general concensus on what Y pipes are good. I currently run a Scorpion unresonated exhaust. Dont like the look of the Stillen, as they dont seem to have any flexi joints, which I cant see as being a good thing, but happy to be told otherwise. Didnt know if anyone was planning of selling anything, or any traders had specials on. My car currently sounds like a bag of spanners, so need to get this sorted this week.

Iv got a pair of Prada polairsed ones that I really lke, however, when i first got the, my now wife thought they were for her! lol Great sunglasses though.

Looks like that will require a new chassis then, and a lot of new parts!

Will you be going to a race this year Daryl ? No, i opted out of travelling at the start of the year. A little gutted, as was going to do Monaco, Singapore, Germany and a couple of others, and I would have met The Hoff atleast once. There is always next year. lol

Wow what a race, great result for one car, worst case for other car. Only a week to go till Japan, so its going to be a busy week for the guys to get that rebuilt, if its even possible. Possible spare tub job. After the last fire we had to replace lots of parts, and now after another, getting parts out there should be interesting. Great drive by The Hulk, he really does deserve a top team and top car, and maybe just did what he needed to to get that.
