  1. I haven't been around much either, for the past few months really. Isn't it funny how life plods on for ages then all of a sudden everything comes at once... got married, mini-honeymoon, grandma who I'm really close to had a series of mini-strokes ending up in hospital needing an op, I myself have been in and out of hospital for outpatient stuff, been told my contract at work ending in October isn't been renewed (thanks a bunch recession) so been madly jobhunting, and finally, been getting organised for proper honeymoon on Friday. I'm sure there is lots more stuff I have forgotten too But erm yeah, to answer your question, quiet tonight! Not only those on Hoon though, but those who have better things to do on a Saturday night
  2. Love it: Great minds, was just laughing at the very same thing whilst reading through the thread Something to tell us Richard? Anubis, you need some new mates...!
  3. Hello to a fellow Scot! Really? I'm a few years younger and I don't think mine was any more than £450. Goes to show the huge variances!
  4. PMSL Jay if your post hadn't been mid-afternoon on a Tuesday I would have most definitely assumed that it was a drunken post! On second thoughts....
  5. Cheers folks, looks like I've got you all excited for the Hoon Nic, yes, sure do drive up that 'wonky little road'! There are regular passing places to pull over to let others past. Can make for some very scary corner moments though - are you okay with heights....?
  6. Oops, didn't realise the album was set to private , should be available now. Applecross was amazing, although to be honest I'm not really the best with heights at times, so a few scary moments! Awesome though. The hotel was about an hours drive, set in a wee village near Strathpeffer. Oh yes, pretty much identical to my 'summer getaway' second home Tread carefully old boy Seconded!
  7. And ladies in Scotland have good taste in cars also Welcome Kev, great choice of colour
  8. Cheers guys, was an amazing hotel (half mile long private driveway, totally secluded, old fashioned country house hotel), and the surrounding roads in the area are just fantastic - even though I was sh!!!ing myself on the Applecross road!!!! Would be a great meet location. Although I understand that the Hoon is taking in Applecross
  9. Hello all, hardly been online lately (not that my lack of activity will have been missed!) having had a very busy month with weddings, family stuff, illness, and god knows what else. Highlight though being a mini-break in Inverness and the surrounding area, including Applecross. We stayed in a family run hotel, gorgeous setting, and got speaking to the owners who mentioned that they have held several car enthusiast meets and really welcome these groups - might be an idea for the future. Anyway for those who enjoy not only Z pics but scenery pics here's a few highlights. More on http://s18.photobucket.com/albums/b131/ ... Inverness/ hotel garden... sitting out in the gardens enjoying a glass... or two...

  11. I need to stop reading this thread, the latter replies have got me very jealous - any vacancies?! I have spent much of the morning on the phone negotiating on a client's house sale.
  12. Mines is kinda obvious! So sorry to hear about your cat, how devastating
  13. I haven't been online in a few days (back to work today, boo!) and I'm touched to see all the replies - thanks to everybody who has congratulated us Back to reality now, don't think it has quite sunk in yet. What am I going to do with all my time now that the planning is over
  14. No it was called Coul House Hotel, about 17 miles from Inverness. Gorgeous country setting, 1/2 mile private driveway, extensive lawns and great food and service etc (21 rooms). The general manager commented upon the Z He said that they had had several car groupings (classics etc) in the past and would welcome more.
  15. Me and my chief bridesmaids: Sorry, so many photos I'd love to share and no doubt many many more to come once those of the official photographer are available etc Apologies none of the Z Although on our 'mini-moon' the hotel manager mentioned that they had many car gatherings, got me thinking!
  16. Thank you Stew Yep, well spotted, the ceremony was at King's College (beautiful church). The bridal party were in Silver Granite tartan - lovely. Have to say, I love the tartan shots such as :
  17. Thanks to everybody who has posted I still don't think it has quite sunk in yet - I am a MRS, f***!!! The professional pics won't be available til next week sometime, and I haven't had time to sort through the other photos but I did set up a Photobucket account especially for guests to upload their photos : http://s691.photobucket.com/albums/vv278/DougCara/ To satisfy those who are curious (aka 'nosey' like me ) meantime We aren't on official honeymoon til September, but we took a 'mini-moon' in the Z in the Highlands of Scotland, over Balach na Ba (sp!!) to Applecross (famous driving road) and stayed in a lovely country house hotel. We coudln't have asked for better weather recently. The gods must have been smiling on us
  18. Aww!!! it was amazing, couldn't have asked for better and the sun was out all day I'm pleased to say I'll get some photos on FB soon (unofficial ones, waiting on official photographer).
  19. Now that he IS my hubby, please point this out to him for future reference
  20. Me too. This thread is making me feel old !!! Past test in 2004!!! I was 2 in 1985?? I was'nt! At the risk of giving away my age (a woman never tells!) I was 2/3 in 1985
