  1. Welcome ! Best colour in my opinion (but i would say that as mine is silver !!!) even if some people reckon they look like they are in primer ready for painting hahaha. I've had mine 3mths and loving it.. This forum is top notch, some great techies and advice.. You will notice many people mention ESR (East Shore Racing) and "BIGPHIL" (ESR's Boss).. check out some of the work they have done.... i am still resisiting a visit becuase if i go i will end up buying so many things it will probably bankrupt me !!!!
  2. I feel for you mate.. i have downtraded three times in the last 5 years... 2 caused by children (my own fault) and the most recent caused by a change of work (general economic climate)... At the end of the day it's only a car... you can get another one when things turnaround which in your game they will.. even if people aren't buying the machines they are still using the old ones and they will break.. I have a mate who downtraded from a 2year old Lexus rx400h to a 52 plate old landrover 4door pickup and he's loving the new devil may care attitude and driving style.. he seems to be refreshed by not worrying about where he parks, if someone tesco dents it etc.. he also reckons he won't spend as much on a car ever again even if his business picks up. I worked through the 80's recession for Perkins Diesel engines / Massey Ferguson tractors (Perkins is now part of "cat") and i remember how savage the job cuts were that we took.. we laid off thousands it was awful. And like bad pennies the spectre of lay offs is following me through the latest rtecession... the company i work for now are in the process of selecting their 25,000 global victims to lay off.. it's not a nice situation to be in and i only started here in September.. i reckon i might be out soon.... Good luck, i hope you survive the cuts.
  3. The shape plays tricks on you.. there is a thread on here somewhere with a nose to nose picture of a 350 and a 370.. i thought the 370 looked bigger..... maybe it is a father ted moment.. "these are near... and those are far away"......
  4. what.... it comes with a handbook....
  5. Wow. Stumbled accross this after looking at the wrecked 350z's on wrecekedexotics.. this might be a re-post, sorry if it is but well worth a read anyway - http://www.lambounfall.de/lamborghini_murcielago_crash.html

    New Scirocco

Err.... well.... i think it looks rubbish.. seen one up close at the MPH show.. it is , well, boring... it does look korean/french/italian/german euro bland... The old scirocco's, whilst not the fastest nor best handling cars, at least looked radically different from the golf's .. this just looks like the b4st4rd love child of the golf and the new renault migraine ... My mate has a 55 plate gti and it is OK.. isn't too quick, handles ok, looks nice and is well screwed together.. all round it is a good car that i wouln't be too upset if i had one... i like golfs, i liked corrado's and old scirroco's.. i even like the audi a8 inspired vw phaeton.... The VW Shishocko leaves me thinking bland and about as exciting as sleeping....
  7. Hmmmm.. i am used to rwd cars in the snow / ice, i have had BM's for the last too many years to recount !! but the 350z is shockingly bad in the snow / ice... the bridgestone tyres and not too good i fear ! Having said that.. it was fun getting into work this morning... getting out of the garage and off my drive was the hardest part.. even considered using the wifes strudelpanzer to pull the car onto the road (at that point i should have really heard the warning bells and worked from home but didn't.. i haev one of those this might be fun attitudes....).. eventually got the car out of the garage, up the drive and into the cul-de-sac using the "tear out of the garage then skate down the road" method.. Luckily i live at the end of the road looking up it so have plenty of figure skating area.... Hmmm snow is still on the ground here in sunny Manchester and it is getting colder... drive home tonight might be like a good old 1980's rac lombard special stage.... Hmm... mabe that 4wd mitsubishi evo7/8/9 might have been a good idea after all..
  8. Someone should torch that......... i would
  9. Sweet ! right money, happy seller and happy buyer ! Pretty decent little motors them mk3's .. enjoy.
  10. I had a 2004 530d se (euro4 engine smoke free exhaust etc etc) .. it was a great car... 15k can pick you up one of those.. choose the engine wisely, the non euro4's smoke like a malboro test beagle.... I also tested 2 mercs.. the E220cdi and the e320cdi merc.. they were good and well made .. Merc's have taken a beating on quality but they are still pretty good.. and final Aga recommendation is a mondeo tdci 2.2 platinum.. i hired one of these and it was pretty good.. really it was good luck
  11. Have 4400 in one bundle of 20's and wave that at him.. it is amazing what the sight of 220 x 20's will do and the fact you will take it right now...... mention upcoming service and have print offs of other similar cars, preferable low mileage with up to date history and same or lower price.. It is a good mileage motor and if top condition i woudln't part with a penny more than 4750 for it.. then i'd feel ok.. any more i'd feel sad.. check out FOW.co.uk fotr bargains.. also dealer will give you at least a 3mth warranty whereas this wil be sold as seen, no come back etc etc.. Cash in your mitt is a great weapon.. i bought an ML merc for my wife, back when 4x4's still had some residual value, and found that having the cash available (not with me) that day got me a hefty discount ... good luck
  12. Hi Lisa... Your Z32 is really doing it for me.... sweeeet...
  13. Hi ! nice Z, really nice.... too nice... you make so many of our stock ones look dull Are you north or south NL, if south anywhere near Waalwijk / S-Hertogenbosch / Tilburg.. i spend some time in that kneck of the woods working ..
  14. I agree... it will put people of posting their motors.. maybe private messages with the "maybe ou need to price it at XXX comments should be sent" And maybe there should be a way for someone to post for buying price advice for the forum that mandates the reqest to be locked and answers only on private messages.... We all know the car market is in freefall... re-inforcing it by pointing it out to every seller probably isn't necessary nor motivational... And for those that buy a car it's caveat emptor...
  15. Well.. after saying i never see any.. it's been a proper famine and feast.... spotted the following 3 culprits in the last couple of days - 53 plate blade silver, cheadle hulme, 08:40 Tuesday morning.. heading towards bramhall 04 plate black, a34 cheadle gatley lights 7pm ish Wednesday .. i think hading for gatley 04 plate gm, creased drivers door, m60, near stockport, in the traffic jam , 18:00 Thursday So if you saw the bloke staring at you, trying in a very non manchester way to make friendly eye contact in the blade 07 that was me
  16. Im exactly the same, I always check on the motorway whether there is a volvo behind me or not and adjust my speed accordingly I do exactly the same, always suspicious of Volvo's, I mean, who would actually buy a Volvo out of choice??? my father in law is thinking about it Rtbiscuit don't worry, there are people you can pay to "de-programme" your father in law..... y'know the sort of thing.. waterboarding, stimulous supression, sensory deprivation etc...... if that fails maybe a bit of a slap and a shake with the phrase "what the feck are you thinking man ?" might snap him out of it... Alternatively... if he's still young enough maybe just a weekend larging it in prague / barcelona / milan followed by a proper lairy track day session in some beefy old school motors, y'know, dodge viper / old school f355 fiat etc etc... will cure him of the unnatural feeling for volvos....... Actually... admission... i do quite like the latest luxury v70's.. we use a chauffer company who run a fleet of 100+ of the latest top spec v70 estates.. not bad.. much nicer to be in than the e-class mercs we get from another chauffer company..
  17. Im exactly the same, I always check on the motorway whether there is a volvo behind me or not and adjust my speed accordingly +1 I hate people who buy black volvos, mondeos, scodas etc.. Yep... any volvo.. slow it down.. Manchester Police have Sooooo many of these unmarked ones... i was lucky.. he sat me in the car, asked the usual questions, including that time honoured classic of "how fast were you going" to which the only answer of course is "70.. ish.. give or take.. maybe 75".... advised he believed that figure was closer to 90 and then offered to show me the film of my "offence".. being a lover of films i accepted his kind offer only to be shown 5 minutes of interference, odd splats of my car and then nada.. puntcuated by such stock police favourite phrases as "lloks like you are in luck sir" and "this doesn't usually happen" (that's a dodgy and scary statement to hear from a large uniformed bloke on a dark night in Manchester i can tell you ) and finally the phrase "i will let you go this time, but i will be keeping an eye out for you as i come this way all the time (also a scary and dodgy phrase to hear from a large uniformed mustachiod bloke ona dark night in manchester)..... then he let me go .. i was lucky... but hey ho they should look after the kit better !.... Yep agree with the statement that the unlicensed chavscum don't get treated harshly enough.. my mate got hit by an unlicensed, uninsured immigrant status person last year in collyhurst Manchester.. plod basically said "there's not much we can do".... personally i think there was.. but it involved violence and intimidation.. Bring back the 70's and 80's cops i say, they'd have dealt with it in an appropriate manner involving mattresses, pillows and boots Ranty over.......
  18. i was "caught up with" rather quickly by a plain volvo s70 "r" with little blue radiator lights recently... they are pretty rapid... Hmmm... evo 7 ~vs~ m6 in a straight line... not a chance... unless it was being towed on a bungee.....
  19. Worth considering a used M6.. 50k gets you a lot of metal ... they've dropped like lead balloons !! good as a daily driver.. acquired styling taste but a real put a smile on your face drive.. sound awesome and acceleration feels ferocious all the way through the range... Also amg sl's from the last of the previous shape are at good prices (2 seat of course).. granted neither are as exotic as a 360, maserati, lambo or aston but both decent motors that aren't going to be as expensive to live with as the aston or lambo or as fragile as te 360 or maserati..... both pretty clinical to drive (never drive the amg sl but have drive a 500 which felt pretty deccent). I had a dozen track laps in a 12mth old db9 coupe in July.... that was just fab power delivery was immense, noise was like the world was ending... great to be in.. gearbox was dumb to the point of ruining the car when you came out of a power off corner blipped down a couple of gearrs and buttoned the accelerator it had a long ponder about the gear change you asked for then lurched onwards at millenium falcon acceleration rates... interior quality was poor... you could hear every bit of trim rattling .. granted it had been a weekend track car since it was bought so that could explain away the trim but on the same day i had a couple of laps in an r-8 and it's trim was silent.. it was also 6mths in as a track car and seemed to be holding up better.... The new M3 is a good drive, it's quick and the balance feels good.. better in coupe format... i've seen a 12mth old <10k coupe, good spec, 1 owner 34k.... they reckoned on getting 31-32 for it... also heard of a 10mth old full spec (60k new) m3 coupe <10k miles up at 38.. dealer was willing to go down to 34.... coupe models dropping are the non smg'd variants.. The convertible won't have dropped as much as still in pretty good demand... In fact any of above .. all top notch motors....
  20. Bronzee - you won't be missing much..... probably 5 minutes of laughter in the whole thing trackday = much much more fun
  21. Veyron looked sooo good.. but it did look slow, sort of effortless performance which is exactly what you would expect for the amount of cash they lavished on manufacturing it.. The Zonda looked and sounded exciting... not surprised it was faster just on the sheer mass difference.... again not sure many of these will end up on tracks, but probably more in comparison to the veyron... These are both HUGE shouty "look, i'm filthy rich" bit "o" bling.. sort of a P-diddy / naseem / jordan / beckham car ... Jelousy is soooooooo ugly....
  22. Ok, so no-one else went to the MPH show.. anyone going to the race of champions in Wembley ???
  23. Hmmm... still like it but i thought it was smaller than the 350.. it looks bigger in that nose to nose picture... i like it less though sat next to a 350 than on it's own.. if you get what i mean.. Quarter and tailgate look too high... almost like they were an after thought....
  24. Got to say the 370 is really growing on me.. not too keen on the Austin Montego Blue.. reckon it will look awesome in Gm, Blade and Red....
