Well just when you think cars ca't get any blinger or bigger or better.. you see something so utterly over the top it makes you go WOW.. A black RR drophead coupe.. was called a 100ex at the motor show back in 2006 .. it was parked outside our local restaurant in the village centre near me this evening.. wow.. i started to get all Winston Churchill... it was HUGE.. it had the roof down and looked just fabulous.. yep i know some jealous types will harp on that it is a big bmw .. yep i know it is OTT etc etc etc.. but .. well.. wow.. you gotta see one next to another car to realise how big they are.. it was parked behind a range rover and it made the range rover look small... it made ragtop bentleys look cheap and nasty... best bit is that it isn't owned by a juvenile retarded ball kicking nancy from the football league, it is owned by a local businessman who loves cars.. and is obviously a bit flash !!! And.. for the first time ever.. i've seen a ragtop RR that didn't look all Liberace or P-Diddy... wow.... just wow....

Looks good to me.. the black type 5 wheels are mint.. worth about 2.5k a set.. maybe 3k.. owner is confused about power output.. it's 343bhp.. side vents are a bit... well... cr4p to be honest.... The wheels and spoiler look fab in the flesh, i saw a car identical to that in early '07 that belonged to a BM dealer called (don't laugh) Dick Lovett.... Buy it.... you know you want to.. i would it'll just eat you up untill you go and look at it....

Stan Did the black 04 have a mk1 nismo spoiler, a custom exhasut and look slighlty lowered.. if it did i spotted him a few days back on the 60 and all the way up the a34... i posted, he no respond ! miseries...

Right then.. Thanks guys for the info, it's appreciated ! Decision made.. gone for a bit easy life on the tyres though.. considered going bridgey pot's re050's but decided better the devil you know.... Ordered same as stock bridgey pots re040's again.. whilst i hate the wet weather performance i like dry weather ability.. they'll only last me 12k so will be replaced again in 8mths ish when i will most likely go with conti's. Ordered 20mm front and 25mm rear spacers off CS, not intending to lower the car so happy with that... Waiting for CS to restock his stubby ariels and will get one of those too. Also ordered myself some OEM nissan floormats off ebay for 59 delivered, seemed like a reasonable deal to me. Once these bits are done i am going to look at some engine mods... i want some more power so this might get pricey due to the 350's ability to cancel out mods !!.. Before that though i need a service, a proper valet and some nice weather !

Haha Now that's a broad subject. Right opinions sought - I have a uk gt with rays .. i have done 13k miles and the tyres are toasted... time for new ones.. I have seen all sorts of opinions on what are good and what are not so i would value some more yes i have read lots of posts but managed to get overloaded with info so wanted to start my own thread and collect the answers this way... sorry if you have all seen / written or answered similar threads before..... I find the bridgestones cr4p in the wet and OK in the dry, i want to replace all 4 but not sure what with for the best all round fit. I hear good stuff about Falkens and pirelli's but i had bad issues with lifespan of a set of pirellis on a z3mcoupe.. they lasted 6k miles as opposed to 18 out of the replacement michelins i fitted... they were grippy but way too soft... so who's replaced their std gt tyres and what with also what are your opinions ~vs@ stock re040 bridges ? Spacers - OK i want spacers.. eibach hubcebtrics appear to be the weapon of choice.. again i have read other posts and am coming to the conclusion i want 20mm front and 25mm rears.. as long as i don't lower it i should be OK and not get rubbing issues at the back appers to be the concensus ?? any advance on that ?? Also... i see most people state that no adjustment is needed to tracking.. am i correct with this assumption ? Badges... i want rid of the burgers... if i buy carbon badges do they come with the adhesive or do i need to buy something else ?? Removing nissan burgers - Is this easy, do i just heat them up with a hairdryer and they will peal off ? Who to buy from ? - Ok.. want to buy replacement badges and spacers from one of the forum suppliers... and maybe even tyres if there is one "up north round Manc" / "or Midlands around Brum" that can supply and fit tyres + spacers ? any recommendations ? hmmmm...... i'll reserve judgement untill i see one in the flesh in a dark colour... i thought i liked the photos i saw of a blue one and a yellow one though.. but in silver.. yak.. and i like silver cars.. i have one.... but it doesn't suit the 370 it seems....

You have got yourself a top piece of kit mate.. I like the badges, they suit the colour rather well. One known issue to watch out for on the z4m is the gearbox can get notchy, normally noticeable when colder from 1st to 2nd at high revs it will fight back and refuse to go in.. i had my gearbox replaced under warranty at 10,000 miles.. it was ok for like 3mths then started to play up again... in the end it was sort of accepted that this was how they went ! Run it on 97 or better fuel.. you do feel the difference and it seemed to run much smoother on 97 than 95. i have owned 2 other M cars - a 1999 z3mcoupe and a 2002 m5 (the v8 one). The z3m was a beast.. in some ways more fun than the z4m but it was always trying to kill you on the limit... it would snap from understeer to savage oversteer on the throttle ! i have rose tinted glases for the z3m as it was my first m-car.. the m5 was a good car, brutally fast all the way to it's artificially limited 155mph, agile for it's size, and made a great v8 howl but was just a bit sensible and too much of a "Q" car .. the z4m was the most precise of them all and probably a shade quicker than the m5... One piece of advice .. don't turn off tration and turn on sport it in the wet or you may end up in casualty top car mate !

Runway tyres..... hmmmm.... banana skins ? anyone heard of these ? or are they nankang type cr4ppo tyres.. i can see they are from Shanghai.. quality product then !

A34 Cheadle hulme roundabout.. 08:40 ish today.. heading towards Cheadle Gatley from Wilmslow... very shiny car.. i was the filthy blade silver one at the roundabout if you spotted me.. nicely polished motor that !

I went from the z4mcoupe to the 350 for a few good reasons and a few not so good reasons !!! - I have had lots of cars... i like em.. i change them often... i kept the z4m coupe for 2 yrs which is the second longest i have owned a car.. only car i owned longer was a z3mcoupe back in 1999.. that was a beast and more fun than the z4m as no traction control !!! but manageable nonetheless. I got my z4m on a 2yr bm select agreement... after the 2yrs the buy price was rediculous compared to the cars actual value. I never keep cars more than 2yrs as i get easily bored.. i like change ! BM offered me some pretty keen deals on a 630 sport, a 635d sport and an M3.. but i managed to resist for other reasons below.... I changed job and went to a permanent employee from a consultant and used to run the z4m as a company car for which there were some advantages.... The z4m gets quite wearing as a day to day long distance slogger whereas the 350 is a much better car for long distances.. The Z4m is comfy but the suspension transfers the road to your spine... nice for a spirited drive.. not nice travelling round the countries cities.... I owed the taxman rather a lot.... so i reduced my car fund and paid the tax man.. twisted priorities and all that !!! My wife had an AMG ML Merc which was hemmorhaging money like a 3rd world dictator.. i look back at initial cost + MPG + servicing + tyres then at residual and cry openly like a baby... so we needed to get rid of that and dedicate some cash to replace it .. We are about to use the cash we have from the ML63 and other savings to buy my wife (obviously just for the wife) a 57 or 08 plate s6 audi with that sweeeet v10 lambo engine in it.... that ought to keep me happy for a while.... if not my wife As for the z4m coupe ~vs~ the 3.0 coupe... hmm... i drove a 3.0s for long weekend and i liked it but.. no comparison if you want out and out peformance, grip and torque delivery the z4m is king.. but.. the 3.0s is a peach of a car, more civilised than the z4m for a day to day.. personally for what i want i prefer the 350 over the 3.0s z4coupe... but probably as i have owned the z4m it has tainted my view of the 3.0s ... Each car has it's advantages and now the 3.0s coupes prices are falling they are a very very attractive car .. and still quick, grippy and make a nice muted howl of a noise...

Nice coupe mate ! I came in the other direction to a 350z from my 56 Interlagos blue Z4m coupe.. Great car.. piddling fuel tank .. more fun than Xmas ! Enjoy and you gotta just love that mechanical snarl and howl at the redline.. and in case you start wondering... yep.. they all sound like a bag of bolts on initial startup from cold and at low revs... it's a BM 3.2M engine thing made even louder by the z4m's lack of soundproofing ~vs~ the m3 ! Having seen the new Z4 which is RICE..and i meant that in a shouty upper case way.. it makes me want a bright red z4m coupe...
