  7. not named my 350.. but my wife just sold an all black merc ML63 chelsea tractor she called tyson... i had a range of names for it = "Divorce" - it nearly caused ours... "Tank" - it looked like one "drug dealers deliver van" - it looked like one and my favourite "That feckin strudelpanzer" - every time i paid for it to be worked on.... serviced or filled it with 98 ron... and epsecially when i put tyres on it... and at the mo she has a rented merc e class 200 thing she calls "turdo" .... it is.. it really is cr4p....
  8. Trying to figure out why i switched from a consultant to a permanent role.... and how to sack one of my team.. I can figure the second but not the first..... oh well...
  9. aaaahhhhh aaaaaaaahhhhh. make it stop... i love some of the quotes - What he says = "WARNING: THIS CAR SERIOUSLY TURNS HEAD EVERYWHERE YOU GO, CARS BEHIND GET THERE PHONES OUT TO TAKE PICS OF THE EXHAUSTS, PEOPLE COMMENT...." What that means = "People are taking pictures to post on barryboys.co.uk website of your horrific car" What he says = "(done a vid on my phone, didnt come out that clear..http://s665.photobucket.com/albums/vv20 ... o00601.flv)" What he means = done a specially wobbly vid so you can't focus on the horrific car... What he says = ALL RUNS SMOOTHLY, AND DUMPS QUITE LOUD What he means = IT'S THAT HORRIFIC IT GIVES ME THE RUNS AND IT MAKES ME DUMP QUITE LOUDLY I'm gonna have to stop .. the more i read the more i am roflcopter.. the list of small faults that cost a few quid to fix has got me p155ing my sides.. like "THE 5TH INJECTOR NEEDS A NEW JUBILEE CLIP (25P), IVE TAPED IT FOR NOW/" no no no it must be a p155 take.. no way.. why would you write that.. cheap chav pikey !!!! hahahah amake it stop... hahahahahahahah
  10. Ok.. we are talking sunglasses here.. i love sunglasses.... For actually providing anti-glare and uv protection i have Oakleys.. i have the "wiretaps" with red lenses.. they are more of a sporty look.. not too cool with suits or fomal wear.. good with sportswear and casual... For Providing OK anti-glare + uv potection but looking cooooool with all dress apart from sportswear.... for that purpose i recommend prada - http://sunglasses180.com/uploaded_images/prada-sunglasses-730611.jpg did i mention I like sunglasses .... so I also have a pair 10 year old hugo boss close fitting v.black lense with no frame around the lense so they sit really close to your eyes .. they look excellent with dark suits.. and a pair of light brown lense ray ban aviators (but as i shave my head and like a bit of stubble these look a bit odd.. a bit.. well.. camp.... ) . best for everyday driving actually the hugo boss.. they have the least frame, are lightest and closest to your eye.. but on really bright winter mornings when the sun is low.. Oakley. accept no substitute.... Sorry.. did i mention i like sunglasses
  11. manc as in mancunian .. and proud of it.. although i don't actually live in manchester.. just sort of near it .. and i wasn't born there.. i was born in "ze fatherland..." probably should have chosen a better nickname and excuse for using it !!!! reckon i might change it to "cheshiregerman"......
  12. If my Vectra was on fire I'd video it, just so I coul relive the great moment haha.. As soon as a wrote that i thought.. i wonder.. and.. sad b4st4rds... - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b-qY9fEMgUw oh well... just proves people will upload any old crap to youtube....
  13. Welcome Andy.. Bose is a known problem and there are plenty of threads .. a quick searhc on bise and skipping will return a pile !!
  14. I'm with Sarnie... they are tw4ts and i am sure if it was a vectra on fire no-one would vid it.. Sad to see a handmade car go out like that.. i am sure the owner will be mortified.
  15. Hahaha... lovely to look at... possibly apart from the 356 speedster the prettiest porker but.. for me you need to wait until the 993 hit the roads for a porker that could come out of corners still going the way you want it to.... especially if you went with RUF turbo R.. The temptation to leather it would be too much.. and eventually, as you do with all old porkers, you'll hit 3+deg adverse camber on the road or maybe a bit of diesel and it will attempt to end your short but happy life by catapulting you in your 105k piece of porsche history backwards at something really heavy / hard and made of stone or something coming towards you at speed with Scania or Volvo FL on the badge.. Not that you ran out of talent.. just that these old porkers are .. well.. unpredictable..
  16. Just had a look at pure's car on the shortcut.. right colour, could be the one i saw.. i like that colour it really suits the car.

  22. Its akways funny to see the look on a petrol drivers face when someone in a mapped diesel pulls away leaving them in a cloud of smoke Hmm... my 530d never threw out a cloud of black smoke / soot etc.. but did give me a big smile every time i accelerated ! The euro 4's shouldn't smoke as they have filters / cats to remove the particulates.. i supppose some are not as efficient as others, the DMS BM's and Alpina diesels don't smoke at all... The redline was 5000rpm.. not 3.5 or 4 as some have said... and the BM's aren't dead untill 2krpm they light up around 1100 rpm.. the 535d is always on thanks to twin turbos... as are single turbo dms's yep, rev band it is too short but if you like some gearbox action it is no worse than driving a vtec where you are fishing for gears, only difference is you can pull at pretty much any revs in any gear.. unlike the vtec's most people see either badly maintained or old diesels and then think they are all the same... they really aren't.. I worked for Perkins and RR diesels in previous posts and hated car diesels with a passion.. until the euro4 engines came out and that changed my mind... still prefer petrol in sports cars, obviously, but i reckon soon diesel sports will compete if not overtake petrol in performance terms.
  23. Well.. i am 2mths away from having a clean licence (first time in a lot of years) .. on my way to work a few weeks or so back .. and ... blammo.. 39 in a 30 by a road safety van.. HOW THE FFF DID I NOT SEE THE VAN..... Yep.. i was bang to rights.. no defence.. no excuses.. i was basically being a c0ck.. speeding on a failrly main road, nothing about apart from me and that strange looking vw van with an open back window.. i did think how odd, a van with an open window and a shiny thing sticking out of it.. C0CK ! Well i receive the normal "was it you" letter.. i sent it back with a yep.. it was me.. and waited for my request to send back the licence to be endorsed.. instead i got a letter offering me to attend a 60 quid 4 hour speed awareness course.. it says if i do i won't get the 3 points. So i've booked myself on it.... to be honest i think it is better than an arbitary 3 points and 60 quid .. it may even slow me down.. i know i have been driving much better since i received the "was it you letter"... and i expected to have to go during work hours but no.. i can go at 5:30pm.. even better they have actually made it convenient.. So.. Anyone been on one of these and has it made a difference to the way you have driven since you attended.. I have attended police defensive driver trainining for 5 years up until about 6 years back and that did and still does make a difference to how i drive... so sort of hoping this might.. or is it 4hrs being told how naughty i've been by an advanced driving instructor ??
  24. Hmmm.. not so anymore i'm afraid.. all pre Euro4 diesels are agricultural relics fit only for the scrapper.... post euro4 are smoke free .. i bought a new manual box BMW 530d in 2004 after test driving a 530 petrol and diesel back to back... The petrol was slightly faster to 60 *(i mean really slightly..) and then got it's pants properly pulled down and received a good seeing to by the diesel after that... I drove it like a stolen hire car for the 12mths i had it and averaged 38mpg... if i ran a long journey i would pull 45mpg.. nice.. Euro4 diesels are smoke free.. and the 530d had a nice throaty deep note with lots of turbo whistle.. i liked it.. You can see diesels have come a longe way when you look at the new jag, the 535d and now the audi r8d.... 5 years from now i expect they will be every bit as quick as their petrol bretheren to 60 Someone mentioned those pathetic placebo piece of cr4p totyota pious b4st4rd things.. those turds were designed so witless tv stars / musicians / right on w4nkers could look enviro aware... when you scratch below the surface then it all unfolds like an mp's expense report... the whole lead mining, airfreight of parts, metal extraction processes, re-cycling nightmares mean they are basically a driven lie.. no better than a mid field euro box blandmobile... end rant... oh yeah.. meant to say.. i like diesels... and will have another when they can crack the 5.0 to 60 in a 3.0turbo... so that'll be pretty soon i would think... and either a beemer / jag / merc / audi... probably audi..
  25. a real gem, pmsl, i have sent that on to a "holier than thou" enviro dork i used to work with.. he always goes on and on about his toyota prius w4nkmobil (should be a toyota pious).. g1t..
