  1. .....why would anyone want to do this ?
  2. Tues 28th June - AM - looking veeeery nice
  3. Mark - yes you are correct - I was running 95 Octane - don't know where I got 97 in my head
  4. any starting recommendation - other than let a few pound out and work from there... I've standard Rays and tyre fitment (Potenza)... and it looks to be a hot day
  5. The smooth pwr delivery following Uprev with Plenum and revised panel filter you fitted, together with the DC exhaust already in place was noticeable immediately - even with the 97 octane fuel that was still in the tank May be slightly in the head - but I felt those extra horses immediately with car pulling strong throughout the rev range. Note. 97 Octane was my error, as I hadn't picked-up the fact that the Z should run 99 - which it now does.
  6. very nice Sam... car looks very clean with nice mods and on track I was also very impressed with cct - I was there two weeks ago on a bike track day.... amazing difference... (castle combe next week in Zed
  7. Def sounds like a dry rubber or similar... search gave solution for creak from rear (drop links ?) and hint from others it would be anti roll bar rubbers if from front - am I on the right track please ? If yes what's best fix ? Thanks...
  8. Any one have a pub recommendation please (for lunch) ? Taking parents to visit relative and want a nice pub lunch en route. Had some great recommedations on here before - so asking again Thanks.....
  9. fantastic.... a Zed being stretched to the limit as nature intended (hope it was a passenger taking the 160mph picture....
  10. looks great... reminds me of road trip to Hock for a weekend spent on track with VX220 crew... superb cicuit... It's a shame we wouldn't get enough 350Zs to repeat the experience....
  11. Hi I do recall your alias and knew minime and his car very well (catching fire does ring a distant bell - a sad day). Mine was stage 5 NA as shown. The Zed has all the creature comforts you could want and is a real GT mile muncher in style. Yes it handles it's weight very well with safe and predicatble handling. Luckily each track day for me so far has been dry so can push quite hard in the twisties with ESP off, as you still feel the movement on the bum of your seat. The difference between Zed and VX/caterham is that there is a slight delay when you turn in to when you feel what the car is doing (on stock suspension/ride hieght etc).... but you still get fast enough feedback to catch car and feel what is happening. Plus having the LSD means it will spit you out in the wet with ESP not enabled.... but again under controlled conditions is good fun. You'll enjoy the warmth, ease of getting in and out, storage space, air con and demister !! plus a lot more miles to a tank full. You'll still get admiring looks but no as many as in the VX. hope this helps...
  12. Hi Freebird... I sold VX a few years back... after much engine, suspension and set-up mods... made a great track tool and entered several sprints... and scored a couple of this led me to try some saloon racing... and then purchased a racing caterham which I had two full seasons... great fun but expensive time and money.... very competitive and a massive step up from track days to those with a few years track and race experience... So sold the caterham tow car and bought the Zed... occassional track day use... but have just had re-map, brake upgrade etc... but will stop there.... as also have a R1 for weekend fun... (what was your alias on .org ? you must have been one of the original bunch/early member as well then ? - good times with the VX crew )
  13. but you will miss the VX220 experience as well... different to Zed ownership.... both have pros and cons... several ex VX220 owners here
  14. Friday 25th March early evening...
  15. Captain - had a response from CSMA organisers - sending you email
  16. Captain... I'll find out if there's any spaces available and a reminder of the price - it was quite cheap

  18. Yes when Veilside ? I'll be at Combe on 24th May. This is a CSMA day - so well organised and sensible drivers - I may be able to squeeze a guest driver/car in if spaces available... my buddy/work colleague will be there in his newly acquired R8 - looking fwd to see how that goes. (to answer the question above. Yes 350Z isn't a track tool but is a fast car, that has safe predictable handling... great fun... buy it to drive it is my personal view - but everyone to their own).
  19. For me she is looking as nice as she sounds & goes (see mod update in signature
  20. Bullet - a quick dip into google images - searching on datsun... so you are ok with the blue - looks better than the porker colour... but I really like the 240Z colour - with dark wheels ?... IMHO
  21. I'd dip into Nissan history and see if you can be inspired by a Nissan colour present or past - or even a colour used on their GT etc racing cars... For me it's nice to have a colour that you like (#1 priority) but also with a bit of history.... so when asked "why did you chose that" ?....... you can say "1984 Nissan Le Mans GT2 car colour" or similar eg. if it was a fast ford I'd go for Le Mans green, as per their RS1600 MK 1 Escort, and/or the fast focus colour on the street now...
  22. look as far forward as possible (entry, apex, exit, next bend....) I really like the bike camera shots when the camera is on tank/front yoke looking at riders face.... you can clearly see how far they are looking down the circuit.... This really works, if you don't think so try this... walk down a corridor... walk whilst looking at the skirting board two feet in front of you.... repeat looking as far down corridor as you can - bet you walk faster, and you still don't hit the wall
  23. Nixy - same thing happened to me... I went away for a week (in the sun) - came back - driving to work and car was sliding around if I gave even a hint of spirited driving - but was perfect before holiday.... ?? I even stopped and checked rear tyres, totally convinced I had a flat tyre. I then went down the 'it must be cold' thoughts, and the fact I've just come back from warm dry roads etc... Fortunately it was booked in at Abbey that week for service/re-map etc, and I asked them to check alignment/tracking - as the car had hit a kerb recently - but had felt fine for days afterwards.... Their findings were that the rear end had settings akin for a drift car !! and to be fair that's what it felt like. So someone either sabotaged car when I was away - unlikely - or something worked lose... my advice would be get alignment checked out...
