  2. Hiya, looking for AC belt and alternator belt... NISSAN IRE doesn't have any in stock so might hopefully be in the 'UK' office, if it's not I might have to wait a couple of weeks if they need to order it in from Nissan Japan... Part numbers are 11920AG900 & 117204P10A (one of them THEY'VE NEVER had in stock.... so nobody with a 350Z has EVER replaced the 1st one of them, guess thats a good sign?) Cheers A
  3. some of the members here are those kids in school...
  4. Out of interest how long have you had the smell? dont get that smell every time mate, I'd say it started some 6-8 months ago (1st time I smelt it) Was down getting it looked at today and the AC one is a bit cracked so will replace both of them. (looks like my clutch is ok but need new oil ) Hold off and I can let you know the outcome if you dont want to replace them. A,
  5. is it 2.9 for gearbox and 1.4 for diff? A.
  6. might be dirt or something on the connector on the rear O2 sensor, think thats the issue with mine anyway. (or my repair cabling....) Alex, might take you up on the preowned stuff you still have it? A>
  7. yes you should, and if they put in '@*!#' oil replace it with some full synthetic 10/40 a>
  8. Happy reading, cheers guys for the interesting input!
  9. Hello, A squeaking timing belt would be very bad on any car... But no the Z doesn't have a belt - it's chain driven. As you say, the most likely source of the start-up squeek is one of the aux belts (probably the alternator belt, but always worth changing them both). The two belts are the same on all models JDM and UK, part numbers are 117204P102 (alternator belt) and 11920AG900 (a/c belt). Should cost around £35. Give you local nissan part store a call. Also check out my how-to guide for swapping them over, in the guides section: click here. Steve thanks for the two part numbers! your linky to guide isnt working btw. A.

Comp test Change fluids less eng oil Now belt Check clutch.... There goes crimbo gifts A.
  13. Here is my belt sounds a bit squeky when you push on it, might be time to change it? A.
  14. From what I remember Tere posting (very knowledgable member from the States for those of you that dont know her), she said that the shift should be spot on (as is with the B+M if set up right). So while I agree "some" cars might not like it, the Zed can be set up properly if using quality kit. Thats why I said either its not fitted right or its not quality kit, I didnt state which Ahh cool. You see that the type of answer I would expect from a forum with knowledgable members. Instead of is it expensive? No well then its crap. Also sorry Chris didnt mean to say you was one of those people as you didnt say anything of the sort. Soooo when has anyone ever said its good cause its expensive? Look at your avatar end of owned...
  15. Keep us posted what Nissan comes back with, I wouldnt hand it in there now to be honest but if you are under some sort of warranty it makes sense? Not sure what a new ECU will set you back if it's fried, make sure to find the problem before you (Nissan) swap it out for a new one. Only thing I can think of is that it got shorted with etc water or corrosion on the harness connection but that’s a bit of a chance. Do you have a good friend that could borrow you an Z ECU to test with? (could be dangerous I suppose...) A.
  16. +1 sounds like immobiliser, did you try the spare key?
  17. They are not brembo's std JDM brakes (same as mine) Looks pretty nice but not enough photos, you might want to have a look under the cage when you look at it, my 03 JDM had a rotten exhaust on it. I would not buy this one for a single reason = it's an automatic. A.
  18. belts make sense, will check tomorrow
