  1. Noise issue needs sorting soon Could be right about the limiter, I was pretty close to it but don't think I hit it. I could be wrong though up Any ideas about why it cut out approaching a roundabout? The engine just shut off completley & I had no brakes or steering It knocked my confidence in the car a bit & I took it much easier or the rest of the day. I've checked for codes but none thrown You going to move towards a std exhaust too?! Would there be an idea to go for a slip type exhaust that bypasses at a certain RPM? (Ala Novidem) http://www.novidem.ch/images/pdf/nissan ... 0-gt-s.pdf I don't know what to do TBH. I'm gonna try and get hold of a bung before I make any changes to it. I'm not sure how much difference putting the midpipe silencer back in will make Any other singe exit will be just as loud & I don't fancy losing any power by switching my decats or exhaust back to stock The midpipe should make a difference, how old is the end can on that single system? might have no baffle material left in it Maybe you could get something that'll be very silent at low speed and open up at higher RPM's. I've looked at the RS4's slip system before but didn't know it existed for the Z until I looked at the Novidem stuff. Not sure 'what' it is that bypasses maybe something you could fab up to suit your own system...
  2. Just spotted this http://www.novidem.ch/images/pdf/nissan ... gt500r.pdf GT 500 Novidem... check out the intake manifold / plenum.... does that not look VERY similar to the Kinetix intake manifold! Who was first I wonder...

  4. Looking forward to see that build, can you expand on what you see is a safe torq curve for this engine? What is it you map in to keep of the rev limiter?
  5. Sweet looks well. Well done on the beer break!
  6. Off, like to be able to be in full control. Got a bad fright in a roundabout once that made me drive with off from then on.
  7. love it tricky-dicky
  8. Hang on there lads I don't think there is ANY difference between a tuned Z in N/A for and a tuned Z in F/I form... bar the latter is going to be hella lot quicker! When I had my car tuned N/A first time around it was a shitty map with lots of detonations under load My ears where bigger then dumbos! Every time I took her out I was there listening for knocks. To cut a longwinded story short I had it retuned with TDP.IE using RON95 petrol form Texaco and ever since my ears have now gone back to normal and I enjoy just driving it! What I'm trying to say is when I go FI and let the same tuner do the tune I wont be listening out for cracks knocks or detonations, I'll be to busy listening to the sound of the exhaust and turbo underneath! With a safe tune there is no need to worry, if you leave your car with a tuner that knows what they're at and you TELL THEM that you rather have a driveable car then try and find every last bit of HP there is there. A Track tune would be far different from a road tune... Everyone to their own, Ian with his HKS kit might be able to give some input?
  9. Camera & make sure your out when he comes home lol great styff! answer ur PM!

As usual I have a comment contrary to general opinion, which is that the throttle isn't limited in any gear. Uprev logs show that you get wide open throttle in all gears, well actually I can only speak for my car, but theres nothing special about mine - its a prefacelift DE. The difference in the low gears is that as standard the acelerator pedal movement is not linear with throttle opening, in first you can press the accelerator 3/4 way and only get slight throttle, making the car feel very lazy. But if you put your foot right to the floor you DO get full throttle. The Uprev throttle maps makes the car more responsive in low gears, but does NOT actually give any more throttle opening. is that not something different u'r talkign aoub ttheere? to help gettign a smoother ride at low gears?

I had my car tuned at Abbey Motorsport and you will definitely notice a difference in the way it drives. Even though I have got mods on my car you would still notice the difference on a totally stock car. The car runs smoother and is far more responsive. You should also ask that RS ensure you get 100% throttle in the first 3 gears, makes a difference as well. I didn’t know that about the throttle. Why is it limited in these gears as standard?? save the car, engine & gearbox
  15. My thoughts exactly....... Theres a lot of things in the video to suggest its not fake. I for one find the bullshit talk the red necks have a clear indication of the authenticity, I mean if you were faking it you would have had some better dialogue set out. Also as suggested you can tell the BMW guy has a rush of adrenaline when he gets out the car. Think its great, I love to see justice like this. If it was me they wouldn't get away with just a bruised ego and loss of a camera tho. well... if you wanna discuss the fake part then look at the woman when she goes over to take the camera... that aint right... and remember they are rednecks... the probably shot those scenes more then once lol shame he didnt pebble the car though
  16. a bit long winded and possibly fake but good all the same shame he didnt spray some pebbles on the on the gravel road... was waiting for it
  17. what dremel part did u use for that? the furry one
  18. it's' all relevant... not that I've been aware of it it will probably annoy me! Waiting for a husky fix for this....
