  1. I’m afraid the time has come to sell my much loved 350z GT, I have owned the car for more than three years and in this time it’s been faultless except for a skipping CD where the Bose Head unit was placed under warranty and an indicator bulb that needed replaced, so all in all it’s cost me £1.20 in repairs over the three years which has been nice! I’ll breakdown what I think are the important facts, please let me know if you have any further queries: Stats: Mileage: 51,500 Registered: 12/12/06 MOT Exp: 13/12/11 Tax Exp: 30/11/11 Factory Equipment: Sat Nav Full Black Leather Heated Seats Bose 6 CD Changer Air Con Electric Windows Electric Heated Mirrors Remote Central Locking Xenon Headlights Headlight Washers Brembo Brakes Traction Control Limited Slip Diff Multiple Airbags Upgrades: 19†TSW Catalunyas with Falken 452 Tyres, approx 6mm all round – All wheels and tyres are unmarked and been on the car for approx 2,000 miles Pentagon Window Tints Nismo Induction Kit (Makes a really nice growl when compared with standard) Ferodo DS2500 Brake Pads (On car for around 2,000 miles) PIAA Wipers Full Service History: 18/07/07 - 8,785 miles – Wessex Nissan 11/06/08 - 19,931 miles – Park’s Nissan (Coatbridge) 19/03/09 – 28,404 miles – Hypertech (Japanese Specialist, Bonnybridge) 13/11/09 – 37,843 miles – Hypertech (Japanese Specialist, Bonnybridge) 08/10/10 – 47,733 miles – Hypertech (Japanese Specialist, Bonnybridge) Due to front end stone chipping, if I was keeping the car I’d have the front end re-sprayed, I’ve priced the car with this in mind. I think that £11,500 is a fair price or if you’d prefer £11,200 with 18†Rays alloys, these have good Yokohama tyres but could do with a refurb. Any inspection welcome but I must insist that you prove you have insurance before any test drive. Thanks for looking!
  2. I'd say the institution you gained your degree helps you get your first position as a graduate but the longer you work, the more experience and reputation count, rather than where you gained your degree. I've certainly found this to be the case in Scotland's IT Industry which is relatively small and most folk have connections either directly or indirectly to most people in the same field of expertise.
  3. Thanks for the link for the stickers, I've got the same stickers and they look great but I've lost one of the caps, do you (or anyone else) have any idea where I can get another Centre cap? Cheers, G
  4. From memory, when I did a little research on this forum into tyres, it's a bit of a cardinal sin to have a different brand of tyres on the front to the back on the Zed, if I were you I'd do some research yourself and put this to the dealer and ask if he'll put Bridgestones on the back. I'd also complain about the fact no-one in their right mind would put cheap tyres on the back of a 300bhp rear wheel drive car. Tyres aside, I hope enjoy your new car. I'm sure you will!
  5. A wise man once said 'If you've got nothing good to say, don't say anything at all'. On the back of that, I have no comment to make; I suppose that makes this a bit of a needless post.

  10. Hi, My girlfriend is thinking of buying a Honda CRV from Carsite on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2007-HONDA-CR-V-D ... 374wt_1139 Have any of you guys ever used these guys before? - if so, what did you think of them? Also, this car will be be used very little so we don't want to lose much on it as we intend keeping it for around 6 months to a year, therefore, does anyone know the trade value of this? - I'm struggling to find a realistic value, I put the details into webuyanycar.com and they've valued it at £8940 so I'm thinking I don't wanna part with much more than this as it needs a service and brakes. Any thoughts would be much appreciated. Cheers, G
  11. Quite fancy something different when winter comes, maybe a BMW x5? Maybe sense will prevail and I'll keep the zed?
  12. Cool, thanks for the heads up, I guess this is as good an opportunity as any to try a Clay Bar kit!
  13. Alternatively, a Mitsubishi FTO.......... Just make sure it's a manual, I owned both many moons ago; loved the Manual, wasn't quite so keen on the tiptronic.
  14. A couple of years back a numptie bumped into my Boxster when it was parked and I was given a Mercedes S320CDI worth £57,000; I absolutely loved it but was delighted to get my Boxster back at the end of the week. Now that I'm a few years older I wouldn't mind it for another week!
  15. Hi, I'd like to canvass a bit of opinion on Brakes, my car is 3 and a half years old (296bhp model) and has covered 44,000 miles, the brake pads were first changed 2 years ago at 19,000 miles from the originals to Red Stuff and these now need replaced. I thought the Red stuff pads were pretty good but think I'd prefer something with a bit more bite (though it may have been the original discs that weren't as sharp as they could have been?) I pretty much think that the original Discs will now need replaced, when did you guys replace your discs? - What are your experience with the discs you got? - What were they and would you get them again? Also, are the Ferodo pads worth paying extra for over Red or Yellow stuff pads? - Do they last longer? - Produce Less Brake Dust? - Stop better? I'd be interested to hear any thoughts you may have on any of the above. Cheers, Gordon
  16. How about a Honda Prelude? You'd easily get a 2.2 vti for £2k, I'd much prefer that to a Clio.
  17. It could have been worse, you could have been in a Maestro, that was the worse drive of my life..... Nothing exceptionally bad happened, the car was just crap. It wasn't mine, I was lent it by a 'freind'.
  18. A few years back I had a 100 mile per day round trip commute and bought an Audi A4 TDi an absolutely loved it, I bought it at auction, 5 years old with 111000 miles on it and ran it for 18 months, I only ever bought front brake pads, 2 tyres and had it serviced once, the thing was awesome, great comfortable drive and I got about 45mpg. I bought a Vectra diesel the following winter for the same reason and sold it after 3 months, it wasn't a patch on the A4. If I were you I wouldn't be so anti-german cars, in my experience they're great, my Audi was the best built car I've ever owned.
  19. Your new wheels look great, also think your tyres look tip-top.
  20. I must admit, I had a bit of a nightmare at the beginning of January this year coming out of work; I was stuck in a car park for an hour before I was pushed out, the snow was around a foot hugh and my petrol tank was almost empty which didn't help the weight at the rear end. After I drove the car home that night I put it into my garage until the snow was gone. I think this winter was a one-off so I wouldn't not get a Zed again because of it but if I had 30-40 days almost guaranteed every year I'd possibly think twice....... or else think of the other 330 days and just go for it. I had a look on Autotrader last night and they seem like an absolute bargain at the moment.
  21. Thanks for the comments guys, I'm really happy with how it looks. Apologies to Dodgy, eh, I mean Doogyrev
  22. Thanks again to Dodgy Rev and magic84 for replying so quickly earlier, I really appreciate it. I've attached a link to the new wheels; please let me know what you think. I'm delighted with them, they look much better in the flesh than in the pics: http://s767.photobucket.com/albums/xx314/greido/ Cheers, G
  23. Mega fast response guys, thanks very much. I'll have try again and let you know how it goes. Thanks again, G
  24. Hi, Apologies in advance if this is a bit of a ‘Noddy’ question. I wonder if anyone can help? - I'm replacing my Rays and having a bit of trouble fitting some after market alloys, on the front wheels there appears to be a stud next to the the wheels prongs that's preventing the new wheel going on, should/could this be removed? If so, how should this be done? - (I tried a little removing with a spanner and the wheels just spun). Any help would be appreciated. Cheers, Gordon
