  1. Thanks Ian, I'll look out for those servicing costs, apparantly they have a fixed price servicing policy now so hopefully I won't be too badly stung! - There a very reputable Lotus specialist in Edinburgh so I've got a few choices. I'll also keep an eye out for telegraph poles and try to avoid them too!
  2. The current shape 2.0 Audi TT is Front wheel drive. Have you considered a mk5 Golf GTi? - Personally I'd much rather have one of these to a Focus ST. Don't get me wrong I like the Focus but they do look like a chav-mobile in my opinion. Also, the 2.0 GTi engine is fairly easy to remap and I believe you can get approx 240bhp for under £500.
  3. Hey Ian, I'm glad to hear that you're making good use of the JDM wheels! I've went for something completely different, I've bought a new Elise, I should probably get it next Tuesday, really looking forward to it though I'm sure I'll miss the Zed. I made myself quite unpopular at home with this move, my girlfriend has hardly spoken to me in the last week and just keeps telling me she prefers the Zed and I'd have been better off buying a new conservatory!
  4. I'll have a look, thanks for the tip.
  5. As my Zed is being traded in this week I have no use for these original Alloys, I had bought them with the intention of using them for track days but never got around to it. 3 out of the 4 are in really good condition but one had been kerbed and could do with a Refurb, the pictures of the single wheel is of the kerbed wheel, hopefully you can make out the kerbing on it. I believe these usually sell for around £15o so if you I'll accept offers around this, I'd prefer pick up in Edinburgh but if you would prefer I could probably organise a courier for £27.50: http://www.paisleyfr...eel-courier.php Pics here: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/twhewzwjup45dla/8YOykeX_dt
  6. Hi, I've just found these guys after doing a search on the forum: http://www.paisleyfreight.com/alloy-wheel-courier.php It's £39.99 for 4 19" alloys and tyres. Hope that helps?
  7. Below are a few pics, if you would like any more, please PM me and I'll be happy to forward them.
  8. My 350z is being traded in this week so I've swapped the wheels and put the RAYS back on so now I have my TSW Catalunya wheels for sale, they are in excellent condition, I'd say 99% perfect, you'll struggle to find a blemish. The tyres have been on the car for around 3-4000 miles with approx 5-6mm tread. £700 excluding delivery. The wheels are in Edinburgh and I'd prefer pick up, but if you would prefer to arrange a courier that would be fine. Details of the wheels can be found here: http://www.kentcustoms.co.uk/acatalog/4 ... _tyres.php
  9. I owned my Boxster S for three years and loved it, I've had my zed for three and a half years and really liked it. I found the zed to be really cheap to run compared to the Porsche, where the zed never needed anything other than servicing and consumables, the Boxster went wrong several times and was very extensive to fix and service, the way I thought of it was that every part came with a designer label attached. I've never had any adverse attention in my zed, unlike the Boxster which occasionally had chavs shouting abuse at me or spitting at it as I drove past, that never really bothered me and definitely wouldn't put me off getting another. if I were to sum up the experience of both, I'd say both were great but I'd prefer to have the Boxster as it's better to drive, looks better and is far more practical but I'd rather pay for the Zed.
  10. Many thanks guys for all of your replies, every one of them is much appreciated. Vic, thanks for the tip on the scottishelises website, seems like a very good site and one that I hadn't found before. I'm pretty confident that the history of the Elise is sound, it's only 6 months old and I've spent a bit of time with the guy who's driven the vast majority of those miles, it will have a full inspection before I get the car so I think it should be cool. GT4 Zed, again thanks for your thoughts, I have not come from such a raw power background as a Tuscan so I can see how you may have felt your 111R was underpowered. I found the 111R to have an irratating noise which is apparantly not as loud as the Club Racer but after 30mins in the 111R I had a headache, admittedly, I had a VERY busy morning and rushed straight to the test drive so possibly wasn't in the best frame of mind. It's very interesting to hear that you had a similar experience with discounts and good trade in deal, sounds similar to mine, however, I have done a fair bit of research and the price on offer for the Club Sport is pretty cheap when compared with all others I've seen. The only new shape Elise I have seen for a similar price is a 2010 model on ebay which is around £100 more expensive (ono), where else should I be looking? - I've looked at Autotrader, Piston Heads, All UK Lotus dealers websites, all Lotus owners website I can find (thanks again Vic). Ekona, I agree, seems like a decent trade in price, they want to put it on their forecourt so I doubt they will lose on it, in my opinion, my Zed looks great and much better than the non facelift cars with similar mileages on the forecourt of the main Nissan dealer in Edinburgh I visited during the week (but I am biased!). As for DD, I'll put a stereo in it and it'll do me for 10-12 miles each day, Thanks for your thoughts. Rubber, I've been following the Club Racer in Evo for a while, the first time it came up they pitched against a Caterham, both got 5 starts but the Club Racer pipped the Caterham. I've found it amazing the number of people who read Evo, once worked with an Icelandic guy who seemed to be quoting the magazine when we chatted about Porsches and when I asked if he read it he replied 'EVO is my bible'. Enough said! AK350z..... You might be onto something, I sold my track car about a year and a half ago (old Civic) and sort of missed the fun I had with that tbh. As for the Air Con, that might well be something I never thought I'd miss until it's gone, I've had aircon for more than 10 years so never really gave it a thought. All in all, thanks for your comments and input guys, it's much appreciated, I've tried to chat about this car to my g/f and she simply doesn't want to know, she refused to get into the Elise and after seeing it her only response was 'That's the most impractical car I've ever seen in my life' so some outside input is very welcome. She has a CR-V so I don't think I need a practical car. The guys at work are not much more help, all they can say is 'Buy it, Buy it'. Thanks again guys.
  11. Hi, After 3 years driving a Porsche Boxster S then 3 and a half years in Zed, I'm thinking of getting something completely different and test drove a 2009 Lotus Elise 111R then an Elise Club Racer today, the 111R was much quicker when above 6000 Revs but not much quicker the rest of the time, I much preferred the CLub Racer so had a chat about a deal, I think it sounds pretty good, what do you guys think on the following: 1. What do you think of the Elise? - Club Racer in Particular 2. The car I looked at is 6 months old, 2,500 miles and is £4,500 off list price 3. I was offered £10,000 as a Trade in against my Facelift (296bhp) Dec 2006, 350z GT, 52,000 miles, Sat Nav, Black with Black Leather. 4. I put my car up for sale a few months back both here and on Piston Heads at around £11,500 and never much response, realistically what would I get selling privately? I'm currently doing around 5,000 miles per year (6 mile commute either way to work and usually car travel with my g/f in her car). I'd be interested on what your opinions are on all of the above, I think it sounds like a good deal but the car feels a fair bit slower than the Zed accelerating 60mph+ and my g/f hates it, these are my only reservations! Cheers, G
  12. I've got a set in my Garage in good condition with some decent tyres not doing too much, I'd be looking for around £150 for them. Send me a PM if you're interested and I'll mail you some pics and further details.
  13. Thanks for letting me know, I think I'll maybe give them a miss if they've all started to corrode, my own wheels have slight issues with this and I just wanted to save myself the hassle of having them refurbed. Thanks anyway, G PS - Still a very good price
  14. Hi, Would you take £360 for the wheels plus delivery to Edinburgh? I'm sure I could put you in touch with a courier and pay if necessary. Also, I could transfer the cash straight into your bank account or send via gift in Paypal which attracts no fees. Let me know if this suits you? Gordon PS - I assume the only damage to the wheels are on the one wheel you've highlighted? - Are there any Rust bubbles at all?
  15. I've had issues logging in with Google Chrome in the past but now use Firefox instead for this site and never had any trouble since.
  16. Check this out...... Very, very interesting read for any Petrolhead: http://retrorides.proboards.com/index.c ... 248&page=1
  17. Oh dear…… From the orange glow beneath the car I can only assume that it’s on fire!
  18. Hey, I have a set of original Jap import 17" wheels with tyres I'm not using. I bought them to use for track days and used them once, the wheel are good and the tyres are legal, I'd say around 3-4 mm on each tyre. From memory, there are 2 Bridgestones and 2 Falkens, though I'd have to confirm that. Let me know if you'd like some pics and if you send me your email address I'll mail some to you. You're welcome to view the wheels, I live in Edinburgh. The only reason I'd sell is because I've replaced my Rays with 19" wheels and can now use the Rays if I decide to go on the track again. Let me know if you're interested. G
  19. Sounds good, l'd be interested to see how it looks if and when you do this! I noticed a le mans blue 370z Coupe for sale few months ago, it wasn't a GT but it was at a dealer for £17,999 which is far lower than I've ever seen before, I'm pretty sure this was a 2009 with low mileage. I just thought I'd mention it as the residual value would be something to bear in mind if you were considering buying a Le Mans blue car.
  20. Thanks very much for the response, it's much appreciated. Sounds like a very good deal. I put my 56 plate GT up for sale on here a few months back and got no response, this has got me thinking a wee bit!..... If it was white I'd maybe give them a call! Thanks again, G
  21. So..... What was the deal they offered you? ....... and were all three of them blue?
  22. Hi, I have a set of 17" Orkut wheels in my garage, they art in god condition with a scratch on on of them, I could send u pics if u like, just let me know your email address and I'll forward them to you. You could have them them for £140 + postage if u wanted them. Cheers, G
  23. Thanks Garetgax, the tickets are have been sold. Cheers, G
  24. My girlfriend is selling 2 x Tickets in Section 8 (Great seat, near to where the Queen sits when she's there), this is the Final Show for 2011 which includes a better than usual Fireworks display and is apparantly the most sought after night of Festival in the best seating area. The only reason she's selling them is because she bought them for her mother who can't make it, she wants to sell them for £120 and they cost her a total of £123 (2 x £58 + £9 booking fee) so there's a bit of a bargain for someone, the tickets sold out months ago. Let me know if you fancy them.
  25. I should have mentioned that this is a 296bhp facelift model.
