  1. back to basics, lets see how we progress from here...
  2. Great to meet some new guys and girls today, the birthday banners for the 240z were a nice touch Looking forward to some more decent weather tomorrow and taking a lot more piccies. Will post mine when Ive got them onto the pc
  3. Watched this a few times now, and I get up to 26 including the guy crawling out theback at the end.
  4. May be worth getting the tracking and camber checked too, and also the shocks. Its been known for a dodgy shock to cause a "wiggle" of the back end on uneven surfaces (mine suffered this) this could have the pottential to cause the TC to kick in.
  5. Have made a slight tweak to the email settings, in that the forum will now send out a maximum of 99 emails at once (this was previously 50). For threads where the number of active participants is more than 50, the previous limit may have caused issues (for example the wales thread has at least 61 contributors). There is another setting I can try but will look at that in a while, though with how busy we are, you may want to think about setting email notification off, and bookmarking topics or using the my posts function, or you could end up with a LOT of email For those that are interested, here are a few pieces of info giving an idea of just how busy we are... 1. Taking into account all posts made since the forum began on Dec 31st 2005, we have had 240 posts per day. In recent weeks this has grown rather a lot, and we are running at around 650+ posts per day now. 2. We receive visitors from EVERY continent on the planet. Locations including Brazil, South Africa, Sudan, Algeria and Azerbaijan 3. In a single day this week (yesterday) we had 602 unique visitors as measured by google, and served over 24,000 pages, so far in May we have served up over 115,000 pages (this does not include the refreshing of search pages either). If you include all items served up (images, pages including refreshes etc), its over 1.6 Million items. 4. Total bandwidth served so far in May exceeds 10GB. Will look at being able to provide some more detailed stats on the forum itself in the future, but as you can see, its fairly busy round here
  6. Will be looking to post stats on how active we are and other interesting info on a regular basis. The email problem is actually that the server is trying to send that many confirmation emails to that many people, it is being interpreted as us sending spam Will look at changing the way the confirmation emails are sent to try and get round this.
  7. I think its more likely that the email despatching via the server only does its send/receive processing at set intervals rather than instantly. Will have a look.
  8. I read this earlier. Never has the phrase "Hoisted by your own petard" been more appropriate.
  9. Quick question on this.... Is there anyone going whose other half knows Tracy (Mrs Chesterfield) as she isnt too keen on being a spare part sat in the car/tent for a weekend. Ta, Chris.
  10. The profile is how deep the tyre is in relation to its width in percentage terms - i.e. 245/45 means a tyre width of 245mm and a depth of about 110mm If you want to keep the same rolling radius (which you do) then if you switched the 245 for something much wider, say an eye watering 315, then you would need to match that with a 35 profile tyre to keep the rolling radius the same. 245 * 0.45 = 110.25 315 * 0.35 = 110.25 The depth of the rubber will still be the same between the rim and the tarmac. EDIT: try this site here, and you can stick the stock dimensions in on the left wheel and play with the wheel on the right until you find a wheel radius and tyre width/profile that keeps the rolling radius the same: http://www.kouki.co.uk/utilities/visual ... calculator
  11. Most new screens will cope with higher resolutions easily, its often the limitations of the graphics card/pc that dictates what your maximum resolution can be. (and eyesight if you start to use crazy high resolutions). 1280 pixels wide should cope with the largest images posted here without creating any horizontal scrolling.
  12. should be fixed now... image restrictions are 1024 x 1024 for images posted, and 1280 x 1024 for images attached. Attached images will have thumbnails created, posted ones will not, so we have to restrict the size to stop them from making the forum start scrolling width ways (anoying for those on smaller screens)
  13. If you look up ugly in the dictionary, there is a censored picture of that monstrosity right next to it.
  14. Welcome The best colour too Just treated mine to some Dodo Juice Banana Armour wax. So not only do I hav brightyellow car, it smells of bananas now! People will love the yellow cars at meets, they do a fantastic job of attracting the bugs away from everyone elses!
  15. If you want to upload to your personal album then you go to your user control panel, then click the gallery tab, then "manage personal albums" link on the left. You should then have the option to "upload image" click that. In the first empty box type the name of the image. Leave the second box as 1 Type a description in the main big box if you want Next click browse on the first upload line and pick your pcture. Then finally click submit
  16. Are you getting any specific error messages?
  17. 1. Why were you reading that site, you dirty old pervert. 2. 3 for the price of 2? WTF??
  18. Still got my hair Well, most of it.
  19. Nice idea that green box, but wont the plate get soggy by the time you are on your third slice - and where do you put the coleslaw, potato salad, chips, kettle chips and cheese and chive dip? Anyway - no worries, Ive since discovered (the hard way) that my medication and Pizza are not good bedfellows. Ill never trust a fart again.
  20. I like the effect that gives. Makes the rim look deeper somehow and doesnt make the tyre look bigger in the process. Certainly makes the detail of the spokes pop out more. I think I like them
  21. Just a note on the fuel tank... You may see 250 to 350 miles per tank depending on your right foot, but the tank is 80 litres on the Z, whereas on the rx8 I believe its 61 or 65. At current fuel prices, its going to be almost another £20 to fill up.
  22. Here is the original: Sadly oolong is no longer with us, but his memory lives on in this picture, t-shirts, paintings and even internet smilies like ours PS. moved thread to off topic.
  23. That is correct, it is still being developed with a whole load of other options - the default sort order is by time - latest additions first, but the next update to the gallery software (which should be along soon) will add a few more features.
  24. You know there are more sections to the forum than just the jokes area....
