  1. The one positive out of this whole thing is that there are now at least 8000 plus angy students who will assist in voting out this shower of Sh*t. The problem being they will only be replaced with some other shower of sh*t of a differing shade.
  2. It is in place to make higher education affordable and easier to access. It is not in place to give students a free lunch. If paying zero interest isnt good enough, perhaps the students should take that £10,000 - put it in an instant access account at 1.5% or a 50 day account at 2% and just pocket the difference that way? The answer is because that £10,000 has most probably already been spent on various items if not pi**ed up the wall, which means the £10,000 was spent before the economy deflated, so students are actually now asking for a reduction in their loan ammounts, or a retrospective devaluing of the goods they bought with the money before inflation went negative Thats some serious brass neck if you ask me.
  3. I wonder how many of those same students that are moaning about the loan rates not being linked to inflation now, will still be moaning if they havent cleared their loans if we see a massive upsurge in 2011/12 and inflation were to start growing rapidly year on year. In previous economicaly challenging times, specifically looking at the 70's to early 80's we had inflation averaging 13% and peaking at over 20%. In the early 90's we saw it at over 10%. Given the rapid rate of decline, it is not unimaginable to see a massive bounce once things do start picking up we may see consumer spending jump out of the starting blocks rather than a slow and steady return. If every creditor were to follow this hairbrained stance that the students are petitioning for we would see massive wage cuts across the land (1.2% for every worker in the country), benefits reduced across the board by 1.2%, taxes reduced by 1.2% (because of course all public spending is reduced by 1.2%, including the wages of doctors, nurses, police and fire crews). Public spending would ground to a halt, consumer spending would grind to a halt as everyone decides whether they can afford that holiday/tv/loaf of bread, which means businesses would be making redundancies at an even greater rate, closing down overnight, and the country would simply start to shut down. If any of the students voting for this petition are studying economics, I suggest they drop out and go tree planting instead as they have failed. Miserably.
  4. So what you are saying is that because inflation has gone negative, you should be paying back less than you originally borrowed? Im sorry, but an interest free loan sounds good to me, and to expecting to pay back less than you originally borrowed is ludicrous. lets say there are 2.5M students with 10,000 loans, and you expect this to be reduced by 1.2% per annum in line with inflation. Thats £30 Million just wiped off the debt.
  5. Looking great Craig I'd be a bit wary of lowering it any further, as those skirts are fairly close to the ground as it is. We dont have the luxury of the nice flat smooth and speedhump free roads that the majority of Americans have. The obvious intention with your car is to keep it mint, and id be worried about the rear edges of those skirts and the leading edge of thet front lip if it were any lower.
  6. That is a massive file size for a picture - but it will be when it comes off the camera. The maximum file size for an image attachment is 1280 x 1024. The maximum file size in terms of disc space is 2mb. For images at the maximum 1280 x 1024, the file size should be somewhere in the region of 300-350kb really. You will need to use windows paint or photoshop or similar to save your file as a smaller size (1280 x 1024) Hope that helps
  7. Exactly how does it catch people with cloned plates? What about those who have bought the vehicle and never sent off the documents to register it in their name. ANPR is only as good as the information stored in the database behind it. For example...If I go and find another standard black seat altea somewhere in the country, make a note of its registration and then fit those number plates to my standard black seat altea, then proceed to committ criminal activities using that car, how will ANPR help track me down? What if I never send off the slip to register the car in my name when I buy one second hand - or provide the private seller with the name and address of an individual that I know from my previous research owns that exact same make and model of car, rather than my own address. Copy the plates again, and away we go... Although terrorirsts probably arent blessed with cerebrums full to bursting, they can probably muster enough intellgence not to use a car registered to their own home address and in their name if they plan on committing crime. My view is that ANPR is being used on the whole to catch the majority of law abiding citizens who slip up once in a blue moon, while all the time it is being pushed because it "helps fight crime". What about safety? The single group of motorists most at risk of death on our roads are motorcyclists. According to the department of transport, although motorcycles account for less than 1% of vehicle traffic in the UK, their riders suffer 14% of total deaths and serious injuries on Britain’s roads. If speed kills, and average speed cameras (ANPR based) are used to reduce speed, then why are they all forward facing? A massive investment has been made in this technology for use in average speed cameras, yet the single group most at risk of death on our roads are completely invisible to them.... Why?
  8. What is the size of the picture you are trying to attach, both in terms of its dimensions and its size in KB? Also what is the extension of the file - .jpg or .jpeg etc
  9. It adds extra bandwidth usage to the site and uses storage space, but this is minimal given the server limits we have. In order to add an attachment, you will have to use the "Post Reply" button rather than use the fast reply box. You can then use the "browse" button just below the text input box to select your file or image - give it a description in the space provided if you want to (not mandatory), followed by clicking the "add file". These will add the pictures or files to your post - though there is a maximum of three attachments per post - whereas linking to photobucket means you can add as many as you wish within your post. Hope this helps
  10. They also have to display the postcode of the retailer that made them - so they can follow it up if they are knocking out plates that are non standard to customers who believe they are standard. As the ANPR system is so widely used now, the measures are being taken to ensure that all vehicles plates are able to be read by the system - no doubt with some government "anti terror" initiative pushing it. Because of course, you average terrorist is certain to drive a vehicle registered to their correct address, in their correct name, with correct tax and insurance. Alternatively they may just buy a plate online in the legal font, with a registration that matches that of a 76 year old womans fiesta 200 miles away Oh and lets not forget motorbikes! Those forward facing ANPR cameras make a sterling job of tracking those too... Easier just to conform.
  11. Yes - thats my beef too, surely by charging premium for a plate which becomes noteable when spaced illegaly, they are therefore encouraging the creation of a status symbol by committing a crime. Thus therefor encouraging crime. I cant be arsed anymore with the risk of a fine and possibly points, so will be getting fully legal plates for the Z.
  12. My sincerest condolences, there has been a history of the ilness in both mine and my wifes family, so will certainly be donating and taking part in the raffle.
  13. That photographer must be incredibly stupid or be built like some brick out house. Hands up how many people think it would be a good idea to whip out a camera at this moment in time?
  14. Thanks, flattery will get you everywhere.... Front and sides are GReddy but the rear is speedracing as the GReddy rear was a bit square for my liking.
  15. 1. Toyos (T1R) 2. Bridgestones 3. looks a little like piolt sports. 4. not a clue. 5. cant see properly - looks like toyos at the back of the pic and bridgestones again at the front of the pic.
  16. If I can think of any more mods I want adding in the meanwhile then Ill turn up and glady demo it Plus, if I lose the bulb down the bottom, there will be enough people to pick the car up and shake it out.
  17. Did mine without taking anything off or unfastening the lights. I dont have particularly small hands either. I seem to remember having to use a long thin screw driver to lever the lamp holder upward and into place as fingers are to cumbersome and short to get under the bulb holder at the last point before it goes back into the headlamp itself. Unbolting the headlamp at the top is probably a better idea, as your fingers/hands will get scratched otherwise.
  18. Its on my works holiday calendar already Looking forward to this
  19. Myself and Ricky had our invites when we were washing the cars. Rough wasnt even close. I wouldnt have touched them with yours Louis.
  20. It better not be bird flu after how cosy we all were in that pub, otherwise we are all up the creek. Mind you, the car park would be a nice sight
  21. Cleaning his plate or defacating on my drivers door?
  22. It was a sign of things to come, as the word Ricky and myself managed to come up with after a few shandys on Friday evening actually turned out to be exactly what I had plastered down the side of the car on Sunday morning. It must have been a frigging albatros. That or James got his own back in the dead of night.
