  1. For Gods sake please read up on how it works... Dont jump in with both feet, as you can lose a LOT of money if the markets move against you. Im not going to offer advice other than to say please read the guides and take your own risks.
  2. As far as spread betting goes, its no different to ringing up ladbrokes and placing a bet. Any gains made from it are completely tax free as long as you have another substantive income (enough to live off). Only if you had no other income other than gambling, would spread betting be classed as income and taxed as such. It is however very unlikely that anyone would be classified as a professional gambler, because you could then claim tax releif against your losses, which HMRC would not like to do. DONT wander into spread betting or any other type of dealing without first understanding the risks fully or seeking professional advice. If you do try spreadbetting, then I can recommend cmc markets, as they have some very comprehensive guides, and I would also recommend starting very small until people understand how the mechanics of it work...
  3. The ammounts I staked on the spread betting far outweighed what I have left in my isa allowance, so I have to use other means I have a cmc markets account for the spread betting. When RBS was 16p I bet £600 a point (on the pennys, not the decimals). Effectively the same "risk" as buying 16 x £600 worth of shares (£9,600) If the price goes up a penny, Im £600 up. If it goes down a penny, Im £600 down. Plus, you dont have to put as much in to cover the gamble as you do by buying the shares. i.e. RBS currently 37p lets say - a bet of £200 per point would cost 37 x £200 = £7400 risk. The "margin" on RBS is 10%. Therefore to take out that "gamble" of £7400, you only have to put £740 into your account. If the price goes up a penny, you are up £200 on that £740. If it goes down, you only have £540 in your account (at which point you will be requied to put more in to cover your position back to 10%). So as long as you have the money to spend, you can keep the majority of the money in the bank earning interest (if its anything decent) or offsetting interest on a mortgage if you are on an offset product, whilst still using that capital on spreadbetting. The danger is that because you dont need to cover the whole stake (as you do when buying the shares), peole take out "gambes" that if they all turn sour, they dont have the capital to cover it. Hence why spreadbetting carries the warning that you can lose more than your initial investment. Anybody watch the film "Rogue Trader" where Nick Leeson is constantly having to cover his position... Well thats very similar to what spread betting is, so NEVER put yourself in the position that if all positions went south, you couldnt afford to cover them... As long as you are strict, and dont go allocating your capital to multiple positions, then its just the same risk as buying the shares but tax free. Another warning though, as you have access to live trackers with the software and live up to the second overview of your current position. It is very easy to spend a lot of time viewing your market position rather than doing your job! It has the ability to takeover... I think its worth adding a warning to the top of this thread in case people act on any of this advice..
  4. Ill have a go. Though I have tended to spread bet in the past - actual buying and selling of the shares attracts capital gains, whereas spread betting still falls under gambling and attracts zero tax
  5. Considering this is the guy that bought the 370z-uk.com domain name for the good of future proofing our site for about a tenner, and now wants £1k+ for it, Im guessing he would perhaps sell his car for about £95,475 with a bit of haggling. If you want any proof that the internet is full of crap, take a look at facebook - it says this guy has over 20 friends. That is quite frankly impossible.
  6. Those seats look like original seats with the centres dyed/coloured. May not be a retrim, but a recolour... Still, not a GT4 though. You need to decide whether the external colour is what you are after, or the GT4. If its the colour you are wanting and not the GT4 itself, then you could do worse than get a stunning example of an earlier car and paint it yellow.
  7. Hi Craig, Just stating here what Ive already said in person. The car is a true credit to you and your passion for these projects. If the car, or its parts make their way onto other owners, Im sure they can be confident in the quality of them and will enjoy them in their own car as much as we like looking at them fitted to yours! Will be good to catch up at shows this year and good luck with whatever project you move onto next. Its not over yet though, so let us know if there are any competitions or shows where you need our votes
  8. Mine was in Total Nissan for a detailing feature cant find the magazine just now.
  9. I think this WAS the case, however I seem to remember this has been rectified and the simple "lane switch" no longer avoids the SPECS.
  10. In which case, why not put "normal" cameras in places where the vast majority of accidents are not bikes, have a few more stealth bikes on the Cat & Fiddle (that can catch cars as well as bikes) and spend the rest of the rumoured £2m budget for these cameras on filling in a few potholes which are themselves dangerous. Thats before we get onto the discussion about how the addition of several bright yellow cameras will enhance the beauty of a National Park.
  11. I see there are a couple of posts by one individual stating that the cameras will read bikes plates, but I havent seen a single SPECS set up yet that is rear facing. I am prepared to be wrong, but I also wont be surprised if they are so stupid as to instal forward facing cameras either.
  12. Imagine if forward facing cameras were actually able to read the plates of the 3% of road users who account for up to 50% of road deaths... As before - on that road up to 80% of the deaths are motorcyclists. Forward facing speed cameras (as used by the average speed camera set-up) do not "catch" motorcyclists.
  13. The only problem is that over 80% of deatths on that road are motorcyclists. Average speed cameras are forward facing. If ever there was a clear demonstration that this is nothing but a moneymaking PR exercise this is it. It is an absolute disgrace. They even have the audacity, ney, bare faced cheek, to have posters littering the area with messages "To die for?" with a picture of a bike - then go and put forward facing speed cameras on a bikers death trap. No problem with speed cameras being justified as a "safety" measure - but by excluding the single group most at risk of death just proves how utterly stupid the people are running the "safety" camera partnership. For anyone who doesnt live near or know much about the road, have a google with such terms as "deaths on Cat & Fiddle" - or "biker death on Cat & Fiddle" etc etc and you will soon see how utterly stupid/pointless it is to have forward facing cameras on that road. In fact, its probably more likely to kill a biker, as they will be out giving it beans, knowing full well the forward facing camera cant get them, and possibly run square into the back of a car that has slammed the ancors on at the first yellow camera.
  14. Think ours has about 25k on now. But wont be selling any time soon Im afraid..
  15. Nah - the paint looks ok on the 370. Nothing like a Jag.
  16. This bit would make spacers a must for me... Maybe its just me but this view just exagerates the gap at the rear and sticks out like a sore thumb...

  18. I also thought it looked familiar, but I think its because it has so many features of cars we have here - its got the Greddy skirts like robs and the Nismo like shires for example.
  19. Unfortunately no way of doing this for now nixy. A lo-fi version of the board is one of the additions waiting in the wings though.
  20. Im fairly sure Im free for this too.. 1. Marzman 2. M13KYF 3. Chesterfield
  21. Echo that - I wouldnt recomend MW2 running on a plasma. The ammo counter etc in the bottom of the screen may cause some image retention on the screen. Mind you I may be slightly addicted to the game.
  22. Mock up a hsbc cheque in photoshop, make it out to cash and make it for £1000 - send it with a letter advising that for the £1000 you expect your cheque to be forwarded on immediatley. When they try to cash a forged cheque in a bank in Nigeria I think they may have some issues...
  23. I have moved out of Chesterfield, but at least my address still has the word Chesterfield in the name of the road, so Ill use that as an excuse to keep my username!
