  1. That is correct, but usually traders dont have time to post regularly, so the post count rule can often be waived for traders. It is always good to see new interest from traders, the more options open to members the better.
  2. I most certainly did - it was my first experience of JAE,and Im happy to say I thoroughly enjoyed it!
  3. That is correct - no money exchanges hands here - in either direction. Traders are free to advertise here, as long as it s in the interest of the Z community, and for those willing to offer any kind of discount, you receive a banner advert on the front page, and also a link and description in the forum discount section. Front Page: http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/portal.php Discounts Section: http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=39 If you are interested in offering any kind of discount to our members, please feel free to email me, or send me a PM on the forum. Many Thanks, Chris.
  4. Guys - can wekeep this one on topic please? It would be great to try and get a true national meet together. Imagne the sight! The door is always open here, if anyone from another site wants to extend their meetings to our members then they are more than welcome. Similarly if we had a "National Meet" I would hope that the doors would be open on othe sites for us to extend it to them. After all, we all enjoy the Z. Several people spoke to me at JAE saying they dont post here because they simply cant keep up with more than one forum, and I am sure that will be replicated the other way around also. So if the two groups can get together even once anually for the sake of the car and its followng, it truly would be a great event. Perhaps to reduce any "them and us", it could be extended to any other places where 350Z's may lurk around the land - the Z club for one? But lets try and keep this thread on topic please, as thiscould be a great opportunity for us all. Chris.
  5. Hi guys - sorry my post is a little late, my time has been filled since I got back, half of it by sleep from being so exhausted! Here's my story notated by smilies Fetch a cup of tea..... Friday (so it begins) The day for me started by returning from work at 4pm on a glorious sunny day, looking forward to a great drive down to meet up with fellow owners/friends. Once home I opened the front door to a hallway full of items that we needed to fit in the car. :teeth: This was quickly followed by a few brief moments of panic as I sized up the ammount of stuff piled in the hallway, and knowing that once I told the missus we needed to get a spoiler and gazebo in there as well - there would be a row on the cards too. Anyway - myself and the missus discovered something about the roadster that is not mentioned in the handbook..(ok then just the missus, but its such a great idea I wish I could take some credit). The roadster has an in built tardis..... Whilst putting the roof down, I stopped halfway as I needed to get the last word in on a particular section of the argument (the one started by my suggesting exactly where the spoiler could be placed for the journey to Donnington). After a rather cutting come back from the missus, we stood in silence marveling at the gaping casm in the back of the car, where the roof was about to fold into. Thats when it hit us.. What if we could put stuff in there, and fold the roof back into the closed position again. Surely its worth a shot? It was. Two chairs, two fleeces, a couple of shirts, some trousers, a towel and two sleepings bag later and we were satsfied that it was full. (note squishy items on the top of any tardis packing is a must, just in case you put too much in.) So, after some last minute refreshments off we set to Tibshelf services to meet up with Jacko and Liam. After some refreshments at Tibshelf, we then made our way down to Donnington services in convoy to meet up with Val. After some more refreshments at Donnington (look you dont get to be my size without a few refreshments) we set off on our final leg to JAE. Now, Ive looked through my TomTom manual, and I know there is a "shortest route setting", and a "quickest route". But I'm damned if I can find the "scenic route" setting - but I swear mine is set to it. Though it does have its advantages as it keeps the missus happy as she can eye up different houses along the way. We arrived on site and made our way to the pitch. Although I did manage to get us lost inside the JAE site for a couple of minutes. Once we arrived on the pitch, we all unloaded the cars, had a quick chat and also asked the JAE organiser if ther was any chance of moving the skip that appeared to be slap in the middle of the plot. (and there wasnt apparently ). So we then split into our couples and started to put up the tents. What followed was a chaotic series of actions resembling a cross between the actions of Krypton Factor and the soundtrack of a Gordon Ramsey TV program. I learnt some new words, and also how the hyphenating of simple nouns such as "tent peg" with expletives makes for such a more colourful argument. It also appeared that the JAE ground used to be a quarry, and everyones tent pegs were made of treacle. Once we had finalised our "accommodation", the cars were parked up, a few beers were opened and some general banter about my TomTom's "Scenic" setting and other topics followed. We then had a walk out to the local pub, where we met up with some more of our friends and fellow owners – these were the ones booked into surrounding hotels for the evenings – hitherto referred to as “the sensible onesâ€
  6. Ill fetch the rod - you can attach it to your back. It would be great to have more meets organised, and it was one of the main items discussed over the weekend, after my experience on the Wales drive out, it would be great for everyone to have the same opportunity for meets and drives out together. Perhaps this is the time for a gentle reminder for people to add themselves to the member map: http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/membermap.php Then it wil be easier for people to arrange these local gatherings and meets
  7. I thought they looked good. Tracy (my other half) commented on how nice they looked. In fact she mentioned them several times over the weekend. Now I've been trying to improve my "understanding of women and their subtle hints" game, and I think that she may like them on ours. Although I could be horribly wrong and the message from woman land may actually be translated as: "They look really good on that car, but I dont want them on ours as its already been done and I want to be different". I'm not sure how they will\would look on an azure - think a few photos of mine in the same angle as yours and a date with photoshop is on the cards.
  8. Do they have to have headlamp washers to pass?
  9. You mean your other half doesn't act as a speed limiter?
  10. Hi Monkey Boy (sorry I met that many people I cant remember all the names) You'll be grinning from ear to ear when your car arrives Im sure! Feel free to ask anything you like - we dont bite! LOL. Yes we hope to arrange several more meets/drives out - I'm looking forward to them myself!
  11. Sorry guys - my kip yesterday afternoon turned into a sleep through until 6am! LOL. Ill get my pictures and review up after work! Thanks again guys - it wasn't myself who put all the effort in to arrange this - it was Val and Martin, theyreally did put the effort in to make this show great. I hope everyone who brought their cars got a shirt. If not, drop me a PM with your size (we ran out of everything but XXL by Sunday morning!) and we shall se if we can sort you out. Stephen G, that supercharger is bonkers! people couldnt get enough of looking under the bonnet. You really had your work cut out at the Show n Shine, but it was certainly very popular, and you really did well given the heat! Back soon guys!
  12. Myself and Mike have changed these by going in from the top (i.e. no wheel arch removal) But... It is VERY fiddly, and likely to cut your knuckles (if you have large fingers like mine) and/or it will make you swear .... a lot.
  13. Was it quiet here at the weekend? I dont know - I was here: http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3044 Thanks to all that attended. For those that couldnt make it, I hope the forum was active enough to keep your 350Z needs satisfied while we were away LOL. Or indeed that you enjoyed the sunshine just as much wherever you were.
  14. That is a possibility. Ill see what can be done, although there are other more pressing items to sort. You'll just have to try arder frum now on.
  15. Hi guys - all locked now, please see here for the after show thread: http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3044

  20. Thread created for the discussion of the recent JAE show:
  21. Hi guys - Im absolutely shattered, so will leave my full review until later this evening after Ive had a kip. Just a quick thankyou to all those who attended, and all those who visited. I shall post the fex pics that I have later, and I'm sure the pictures from those with the more professional cameras will do the event more justice. Thanks again guys, and Ill be back later after Ive had a little lie down. As this topic was fo rthe orgainisation of JAE, I am now locking it, for the "after event" chat, please see this topic. http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3044
  22. Nah - just like room to spread out. Plus its got a nice seating area too.
  23. Sarnie - there will be room on the stand for you Im sure. ALSO - PLEASE ALL NOTE: Can we please try and put an end to these little jibes between forums. I am quite honestly shocked that another 350Z club would go to such extremes as REMOVING our club from the JAE map. Yet no doubt we will soon be accused of the ones keeping this little spat running. Can someone from another forum please inform me why they go to great lengths to try and hide our existence? We are here to help and support owners of the 350Z. I dont care if they are members of another site, and just come here for one piece of information and then leave. This site is here for the owners, and not as some kind of pillar for insults to be thrown at (or indeed from). If another 350Z club chooses to continualy deny our existence, and now goes to such extremes as removing our stand from a map - then I think they must have some serious issues that they need to work out. We both exist for the sake of the enjoyment of the 350z, and carrying on any kind of battle is pointless and will simply alienate the owners, the very people we all want to help. Can we now keep this on topic for the JAE meet. Ta, Chris.
  24. I was up late too - about 1 or 1:30 am. Not on the forum though - far too busy sorting out the stuff for JAE. And finding new and imaginative ways of storing stuff in the roadster. So far, Ive managed a 5 man tent, two sleping bags, two fleeces, two chairs, an inflatable double bed, a spoiler, and theres room left for beer and food. (and theres nothing on the passenger seat) I swear Ive bought a tardis. PS - I see they are off with the quote buttons again! LOL.
  25. Matty - there are other clubs yes. Although there is no "official" Nissan 350Z club. There are several other forums around the globe for the Nissan 350Z, and as others have pointed out - as a signed up member here, you are entitled to all the discounts on this site for free. You can view them here: http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=39 Should you find a discount on any other site that you feel would be advantageous to you or other members, please feel free to drop me a note, and I shall see what I can do as regards obtaining the exact same thing here for free. Regards, Chris.
