  1. Then perhaps you should have taken advantage of the free ones that were given out to people back in April for a track day show. Of course there will always be events that people would preferr over others, and no club in the world will be able to offer discounted rates for every single event. So we try and do what is best for the members. We did hand out £300 worth of T-shirts to our members this last weekend, but if its other tickets that float peoples boats - Ill have to see what can be done here. There is always the opportunity of suggesting what you would like to see offered to members, perhaps if there is enough interest in certain events, there is the possibility of seing what can be arranged. I dont attend that many events, so my finger is not on the pulse regarding these matters - let me know what the most popular events are, and I shall try my hardest to sort things out for the members - cant say fairer than that.
  2. I know, sorry I just thought this would be an opportunity to have a great meet with the pottential of having as many 350Z owners there as possible.
  3. LOL - I thought there would have been. I did catch one where you were talking to a guy who was planning on upping the power to 550bhp, on something that seemed to be on standard running gear.. he said that would probably be the end of the project. Your comment of "yep - I think that will be the end of it too" almost made me cry from laughing.
  4. I really dont know - and I really dont want to speculate about the inner workings of another community. It certainly seems though that no bridges will be built here, so perhaps we could start suggesting dates and venues for our own "National Meet". Once decided, we can then offer invitations the other way if we wish - someone has to make the first move toward a true National meet for 350Z owners, regardless of what site (if any) they are members of. As we are a 100% free community, then perhaps we have fewer obstacles to overcome in order to offer something to all owners? I dont know? I just like the idea of as many Z's in one place as possible - any meets organiser want to take the lead - or have I just made a rod for my own back? LOL.
  5. Hope its all going well! And yes - please do tell us about th bluetooth - if its not there, ask the dealer and see what the answer is. Im hoping that you do get it, or are told that you will get it as soon as stock arrives (or something along those lines) However, if you have taken the day off, I doubt we will see you on here today - LOL you'll be having way too much fun.
  6. Matty - there are other clubs yes. Although there is no "official" Nissan 350Z club. Is that really the case? I thought that there was? There is no UK club with ties to Nissan UK. The other 350z site in the uk is www.DELETED.com The only difference in my opinion being that the name conatins the words ownersclub. If that really is an issue and people feel more comfortable clicking something that says "owners club", feel free to navigate to www.DELETED.co.uk Feel free to join up, and even pay the £35 or so to access much of the same discounts and information as is/are provided here for free. Our community will never frown upon people being members of two sites, and will never censor links to other sites. Please also feel free to ask similar questions on that other site about the existence of ourselves and see what reaction you are greeted with. Now that the "other site" has been pointed out to people, the question that started this topic has been well and truly answered. Therefore I am closing this topic before it takes a turn for the worse. Every owner or furture owner can make up their own mind as to which site they preffer, or indeed if they want to be members of both. For my part I am just dissapointed that the same discussions are not allowed on other sites. I really must stop now, as in my present frame of mind and recent actions by people from the other side, I am highly likely to type something I will later come to regret. locked.
  7. I would love to comment over there and discuss any pottential bringing together of the two clubs (or more) for a joint event, but apparently my account has been suspended. The last post I made when my account was something along the lines of: "I think you can take censorship to far" (referring to the map on which our club name was deleted) It now appears that any communication with myself here seems to be non-existent from the powers that be at the OC. Doubtless myself or this community will be cast as the troublemakers yet again. If anyone else does have any success in building this bridge, do let me know - but it does appear that any attempt to bring the communities together, even for the sake of one meeting a year, is going to be a one way street with all the action on our part. Anyone on either "side" who has an opinion or suggestion on what more we can do here to try and build bridges, please feel free to contact me. After speaking to lots of people at JAE from all sorts of clubs, the one common thing that spoils their enjoyment is any kind of unfriendly rivalry. Of course there will always be more than one club, but there are no reasons why they can't get on. We have made every effort now to try and build bridges for the sake of this meet and the pottential of bringing the clubs together if evenfor just one day. My inbox remains devoid of content on this matter. I shall leave people to make up their own mind who is being bloody minded, and who is trying to act in the best interests of the owners. I can see that one complication may be that this is open to paying members at the OC, therefor using membership fees for a meet where non paying members, and those of other clubs can attend may be frowned upon by those who have paid money. As we have no such complications to deal with, perhaps we can arrange another "National Meet" of our own, and pass invitations out from ours - if we cant build a bridge here to get the whole community together for a meet, then lets start a brand new bridge. On a side note, it is very nice to see the Z club invite us to their meet, indeed what a fine example of "rival" clubs working together for the sake of all owners if just for a single day. Ill be going if Im not away on holiday that weekend.
  8. Sorry Steve - we will be sure to sort it out for you.. I dont know how you go missed. Slightly off topic, but during the show n' shine - were you ever tempted to ask: "and can you tell us exactly why you stuck that on it?" or something similar.?
  9. I reckon this could go on for ever until we actually get someone with an 06 model to confirm with their dealer exactly what the situation is. As posted previously though, it appears one dealers view is that they will be fitted afterward. Im inclined to agree with prescience that it appears the bluetooth should be standard on the 06. I suppose we have to wait and see.
  10. Also I think some close ups of carbon stuff would be useful for people as that shows the weave. similar to this:
  11. 50mpg!!! Id be lucky to get that out of the oil burner golf!
  12. I also forgot the 3 in a Zed episode too.....
  13. We have to be careful not to take it too far though, as it would just end up being a "mini JAE" if that happened the obvious question of "whats the point?" would be raised. If the numbers were large enough - a 350Z meet only would be good, though expansion to a "Z" meet may be an option. As this meet has been suggested by another site though, its not for us to dictate or indeed suggest what should and shouldn't be. If an invitation is thrown our way, perhaps we can really help get this one off the ground, though my inbox remains remarkably quiet. If it remains so, then perhaps we just go ahead and arrange our own and throw the invitations the other way? There certainly seems enough interest.
  14. I have to admit, I was basing my "ambiguous" comment on what has been previoulsy written in the thread - rather than the actual litterature. Humble pie about to be eaten by myself. Ive just downloaded the brochure from the nissan website, but cant find any refference to bluetooth - just "phone integration with voice activation - dependent on phone model" This seems different to what has been said before that the online litterature implied the BT connection was available as standard. Is there some other litterature? It certainly seems like there may be some confusion at dealerships if the cars are shipping without the units, but the sales patter says that the customers should be able to use their bluetooth phone. What about an 06 manual? Is the bluetooth mentioned in there? Looking at the scanned in article, if I was in possesion of that, and my bluetooth phone didnt work when I sat in the car, I'd be asking the dealer why. It may be that at some point in the future the dealers will have to fit these to purchased cars, and whether or not they charge for this remains to be seen, but having taken the time to read this topic thoroughly now (sorry). I agree with prescience here - I would take that litterarture to mean that my 06 car will work with my bluetooth phone without me having to put my hand in my wallet. Perhaps an idea for 06 owners NOT to purchase the unit just yet, until Nissan clear this up one way or another - otherwise they may end up with 2 units and an added complication.
  15. Hi guys (and girls). As you may have noticed, the number of registered members on this site continues to grow quite rapidly. The number of posts each day is increasing rapidly, and the job of looking after this place grows more demanding each day. As such, we have discussed with Jacko (Mark) the possibility of him becoming a moderator here in order to help out, and he has very kindly accepted and offered to help out. Mark has helped arrange a grand day out for members in the past (something we hope to see more of around the land), and has provided a great deal of assistance to members in the forum here. Mark was also a great help at JAE and I for one am personally very greatful for his offer of assistance here on the forum. Im sure Mark will take to the role like a duck to water - and it wont take long to become acustomed to all the new buttons that appear when you log in as a mod/admin. The role is not one of telling off or banning (as thankfully we have had to do very little of that on these forums as you are all such a great bunch! ) - but more one of helping out wherever possible, and moving topics started in the wrong place etc.. Oh and handing out the discount codes to all those who ask. I'm also sure that for those people looking to set up local meets or outings will be able to count on Mark for advice on how to go about it, and suggestions on how to make them all grand days out. Thanks, Chris.
  16. Just a thought - what happens to any 06 owner that buys one of these then finds out (if it does happen) that they are getting one for free from the dealer. Can they just get the dealer to cough up the £99 they paid? I dont think the litterature is misleading - I think its "ambiguous".
  17. Just a reminder, for those who may wish to contact me with regard to organising any kind of joint venture with all the other Z clubs who mayhave 350 owners in their midst, my email address is: chesterfield@350z-uk.com Alternativley people can contact me via PM on here if they are registered members.
  18. Please can we keep this on topic guys? Perhaps any discussion of speeds on motorways can be made in a seperate thread? The only comments I would wish to make are that we cannot condone speeding here (for obvious reasons) and those that wish to make posts relating to the speed they have driven at, do so at their own risk of any reprisal from the law or indeed others who may take objection to the speeds. Now, back to the most efficient cruising speed please... Guess who forgot to reset or indeed take any notice of the gauges alltogether.
  19. Yes - Ive seen some nice pictures of the Fireworks going off behind the Magnaflow car - looks great.
  20. They must have been taken early - Bob hadn't even got the breakfast on! LOL
  21. I did wonder which bright spark (pardon the pun) thought sending exlosives and wooden sticks high into the air would be a good idea at a car show. I did spend a great deal of time fretting over the fireworks, and imagining a nice wooden stick addition to my roof. However, it appears my knowledge of fireworks has not moved with the times, and they do not use such devices anymore. They are shells which dissintegrate into ash / cardboard and blow away in the breeze. So no danger of falling debris damaging cars. Some of the pictures of the fireworks behind the cars are great. Sadly we did not get a picture of Steve_b launching, what can only be described as a home made glow in the dark sling straigt over the gathered crowd. Did anyone else clock that moment of terror streak accross his face as the glow in the dark tube hurtled toward the backs of the folk against the railings. Followed by the signs of relief as it just missed them all. Then the embarrassing walk to the said crowd to fetch said glow in the dark stick back for Connor - LOL.
  22. No problem lewis - even if you arent able to offer discounts, you are still free to post up with any special offers etc in the Traders section here: http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=38
