  1. Good point, I shall see what I can do about adding that. At the moment it may take some time as the functionality would need to work differently on a search results page rather than on the index page. Although once it has been clicked, it would probably have to redirect you to the index page anyway, as the unread topics page would be empty. So for now its a case of returning to the index page and clicking the button from there.
  2. LOL - sorry. It used to be good You would have thought that now they are charging for it they would have provided some refference to available space etc. in a propper installation guide.
  3. Actually I would also think that they may use the paint as a reason to void any product warranty. It may not be that the paint has reacted with the plastic, but it will certainly have acted as an insulator to the plastic. I assume they may say that the plastic will not have been able to dissipate the heat as effectivley with the coating of paint. Just the same as a radiator thick with paint will not dissipate the heat as effectively as one in bare copper. HOWEVER.... The paint would hardly have insulated the plastic to the degree where it alone could be blamed for heat building up to that extent - if it has, Ill spray my loft with it. And I am quite honestlyshocked that they have constructed a plastic part for an engnine bay that is not thermosetting (heat hardens rather than softens). This is a fire hazzard waiting to happen imho, I'd put the standard one back on ASAP until this is sorted out.
  4. Sorry Kev, ours is a daily drive so no requirement for a cover.
  5. Dorian, if there is anything I can do let me know... I have the 700 with the built in hard drive, so can copy any data off that you may need, or I may be able to locate an image of a 300 tonight. Ill have a dig about on the net and see if I can find anything that may help.
  6. Yes - if the recipient is logged on at the time of sending, the message will bypass the outbox alltogether.
  7. Dorian, Whats happened?! I installed it on my 700 (some time ago though, back in december I think) and didnt have any issues. There should be support on the site for any problems that have occured. I know when I installed a whole raft of voices all at the same time, my tomtom took ages to "boot up". As though it was checking every single piece of info before it started up.
  8. Yep - and thats the moment that it moves from your outbox - to their inbox, and copied to your sentbox. If you delete the message from your outbox before they log in, then its gone, and they will never get it. Consider the "outbox" as an open plan post room that gives receipts. Once you put it in your outbox, then it sists there waiting for the person to come in and collect it. If you take the letter back before they arrive, then they will never see it. Once they arive, the message moves from your outbox into their inbox, and leaves you a receipt (a copy of the message in your sent items). Consider the outbox a "last chance saloon" just in case you send a message in anger and think better of it a few moments later! LOL.
  9. Its the head unit - and apparently the issue has been corrected on the stereos now - so a NEW unit should correct the problem, its the convincing of the dealer to order (and make sur they get) a NEW one - and not one that has been returned previously and checked as OK on a bench. Ive sent the email I received from bose when I questioned this issue (before I bougt the car) to those who have requested it, it may assist in convincing any dealer to ask for a new unit. I think it is to do with the cd laser pickup going out of line - but dont quote me on that. LOL.
  10. Im not surprised that it went on and on. How many people would have contributed to the 9000 camera locations if they had known that some time down the line pocketgps would be charging people to access their freely given contributions. I put unwanted clothes in bags for charity - if they suddenly decided that they would instead sell these items on the market to line their own pockets, they would receive a smack in the gob. Its the principal that I dissagree with here - they are no doubt now making money off the backs of people who had previously given that information in the spirit of simply helping others.
  11. Yes its pretty good value for money - just annoys me that it used to be run for the benefit of all, and now its popular they start charging for access A good business plan, but in my view a little unethical, as many of the locations will have been provided by people for free in the past, just to help others out, and now some bright spark is using their freely given info to make money.. If I had added one in the past an now found out it was being sold, Id be suing for a percentage. (a very small one no doubt, but still, anyone who has given their time and effort to provide information which is now being sold, should be entitled to a percentage).
  12. I find it very usefull - as it can be updated by the public too, it is usually very up to date. The only annoying thing is that becuase it is as "point of interest" database, then tomtom alerts you when you are within a certain distance of one of those poi's, regardless of whether it is on the actual road you are travelling on. You actually have two options - one reminds you if the poi's are ON your route, the other, regardless of route. So unless you program a route for every single journey you make, then I would set it to the "remind me regardless of route" i.e. when going down the motorway, if there is a common mobile camera on one of the roads a couple of hundred yards away, you will be alerted, even though the camera is not actually targeting the motorway. As it installs in sections or groups, you can set different distances for the different cameras. I set up the mobile ones as much further away than the others, as they are the beggars that will target traffic further away. Also set red light cameras to a short distance, as you dont really need to know about them until you are near the lights. Its actually very useful - and if you drive with blinkers like me, then it may certainly help. I havent got round to installing it again yet, (as jacko will testify as he gave me a heads up on the way to JAE). But its certainly soemthing I intend to do very soon. Just a shame that they appear to have started charging for this info (even though its put together by the public volunteering the info) But £2 is a small price to pay for how useful it is IMHO (and Im a tight git).
  13. also - pocketgpsworld have a speed camera database that you can add to your tomtom, and then set up so it warns you at preset distances from any known mobile and fixed camera position. Although it now seems you have to pay £2 to subscribe to the site in order to download this database.
  14. Actually on a blade or GM I reckon the alloy one could work, just doesnt float my boat on any other colour - sorry Tim.
  15. I suppose I should look for this on my invoice then....
  16. spare keys for moder cars have to be the biggest rip off of all time - thats ridiculous!
  17. Yup - it is. Its just that the white starts earlier on that pic than on the current Z.
  18. Can XBOX 360s play old xbox games? Can you use old xbox games on xbox 360 xbox live? i.e. I have an old xbox (chipped) - I have Halo & halo 2 (originals). If I bought an xbox 360 and conected it to xbox live could I play those on xblive? Is there a free version of XBlive with the 360? PS - for the love of my bank balance, im hoping the answer is no.
  19. bit blurred isn't it? just kidding - it looks good.
  20. Ive recently had mine changed for silkolene pro S 5w-40. I dont know if it is my imaginaion or not, but the car instantly felt a lot smoother.
  21. There is a differnce between a bit of light banter, and that light banter going on for several pages. I dont reckon anyone wants to see all the threads being boring, but there comes a point when the banter can just swamp a thread - and as neither of you ever wants to let the other have the last word it just goes on and on and on... Sorry if tidying that thread seemed a little harsh
