  1. As all the mods have a "delete post" button, on every single post - there already exists a button that can take care of the waffle.... Its not been used much to be honest, though the waffle level is starting to reach the level at which these buttonswill be used Im sure....
  2. I read that the wrong way round at first and wonered how that fat bugger got in a Z.
  3. Another update - this one should solve all the possibilities in one hit. We now have another option at the top which is "Recent Topics". This will take you to a page where you can review all active topics in varying timescales. Options available are: Today, Yesterday, last 24 hours (handy if you search in the early hours midnight) last week last X days (you can choose the value of X yourself - for instance after a 14 day holiday?) Hope that helps everyone. Let me know if there is anything else that people would like to see.
  4. As an update the "mark all forums read" option is back. So - from the index page, you can mark every forum read. And from any particular section, (eg "off topic" section) this option then changes to "mark all topics" - allowing you to mark all the topics in that individual section as read.
  5. Hi guys - sorry about the confusion over this:blush: I had to go out yesterday late afternoon and evening, and Im out again today until later this afternoon. (you just cant get the staff). All of the suggestions that Dorian has mentioned I do intend to sort one way or another. Down at the bottom of the index page, there are stats as to how many posts have been made (ever). I intend to improve this, so it gives people an overview - i.e. at the bottom of the page it will state: Our memers have posted XXXXXX articles, YY in the last 24 hours and ZZ since your last visit. The addition of a button that shows all topics that have had posts in the last 24 hours would be useful, and perhaps bring back both options at the top - i.e. you can see all unread topics since your last visit, and al unread posts full stop (the option we have now). You will notice that there is now an orange marker on each post (over on the right, next to the quote button). This can be used to mark any thread as "unread" from that point onward. It will then go back into your unread posts list, and when you click the little dark grey icon in the forum, it wil take you to the lat post you read - (or the one you marked earlier). As I say, I'll be back later to try and sort some of these issues out. Ta, Chris.
  6. Yes that did happen before, but when you logged off, it discarded them - log back on again and you only got the ones posted between logging off and on... This way it remembers them forever. Try it. look at the unread topics now - then log off (use the log off button top right) - then log back in again - hey presto they are still there. There are some tweaks - like the numbers etc that I need to work on, but the basics are there.
  7. errrrrr....... Yes we can - there are several options that can be looked at. 1st is to have the "number of posts since last visit", This is different from "unread posts" - as these will be posts that remain unread throught logon/logoff events. We can also add a "number of topics that have unread posts" - which is different from number of unread posts, as it will simply be the number of topics you have to catch up on, not the number of posts. Ill look into implementing all of the above. EDIT - adding a number to "unread posts" will substantially slow down the index page, as it will require a query running on every topic containing unread posts, to calculate the numberof individual posts. I can add the "number of posts since last visit" and "number of topics containing unread posts" The unread posts button will still show ALL unread posts though. Clear ?
  8. Stop it..... Stop it.... Cant justify one .....
  9. Ready to process now - there may be strange happenings for a short while....
  10. Ive contacted Derbyshire countycouncil. Ive also learned that if you write to your MP, they have to write back. Or at least that appears to be the policy at chesterfield. Ive just been out again in the Golf, and its a joke, I may as well have to drive on gravel.
  11. had to put it back again - its getting late and there are a couple of issues that I need to work through. Ill sort it tomorrow. And theextra smilies - LOL
  12. Hi folks - Im about to make the changes to the site in an effort to fix this for us. If it doesnnt work then there may be a slight outage whilst I revert it back.
  13. Thanks for the advice - I shall certainly bear it in mind. I feel a letter coming on tomorrow.
  14. back to 666 - as this one is off to "off topic" - lol.....
  15. Ive no idea either, but the results from web ites look very impressive indeed!
  16. Sarnie - you do know they dont do the convertible in yellow don't you.... As for the pop charger - I think Ill be fitting some kind of induction kit sooner rather than later.
  17. Cant avoid it. It is the only road out of our estate. The council department responsible is closed until Monday morning -how conveinient knowing the complaints willcome flooding in after 5 when everyone gets home. The thing that pisses me off most, is that during the drive home, through half a dozen estates of benefit junkies, the roads were perfect. Get to our estate, the one paying probably £2m a year in council tax, and its lke driving on frigging gravel for half a mile. I intend to take photos of the stone chips n the Z, and submit a letter of complaint along with a written estimate of repair to the council. Non payment within 14 days and I shall request the person to submit a writ to. The law states that all roads and any speed restriction measures should be constructed in such a manner that they may be driven over at the legal limit without damage to the vehicle and or occupants. Therefor leaving the road in the state that they have constitutes (in my opinion) an illegal road surface. As for being fully protected - you are at the front, but what about the wheel arches, and the doors when the morons in 4x4's fly pastin the oposite direction.
  18. Id like to see a dealer dispute a claim on something like the leather interior due to say, a pop charger being fitted though. They would find themselves on the wrong side of a writ.
  19. I AM NOT ****ING HAPPY!! Apparently Newbold Road has been resurfaced with one of thos ***king stupid road surfaces where they cover the road in tar then loose gravel. Meaning that the entire road is covered with little bits of stone just ready for chipping the car! Ive just phoned the council up and gone ***king nuts at them - I have said Im taking hi res pictures of my car, today, and hi res pictures after travelling along that road. Any stone chips or scratches and I shall sue the council. What ***king morons in the council decided that would be a good way to resurface a road.
