  1. Just to let you know this is being locked. I dont want to see another political argument rage. Ive said my piece and I feel that the moderators and admins will feel prety much the same way. We want to be here for the Z community, regardless of whether they are members of another site or not. It really doesnt matter to us. We all have one thing in common, and that is the very reason for the existence of the community. Its the 350Z. And I for one am going to enjoy this weather and get out and drive it!
  2. This politics stops now. ANYONE accusing this site of splitting the community can come and have a chat with me at JAE. Watch this! www.DELETED.com. < look - its a link to another site! Now - anyone accusing us of splitting the community, or not acting in the best interest of owners - go and post a link to our site on that one. See how long it lasts. Any club or community wanting to act in the best interest of owners should allow the posting of information that may be of use to owners, regardless of its location. It is this single issue that annoys me. I couldn't give two hoots whether this one is free and that one charges money for certain things - thats a choice for owners to make. If they feel they would get £35 worth of benefit from the other forum over this one, so be it. If they are happy with the information thy get here for free, so be it. If they want to be a member of both - so be it. This site is here for the benefit of owners, and we will allow the posting of information relevant to the Z community regardless of whether that information is on this site or any another. WE WILL NOT censor links to information or other sites that may be of interest to the owners. So - whilst people on here may have little "digs" at other sites, (which we should all try to avoid), this is far from splitting the community. I apologise if this post offends anyone, but I have had enough of people pointing the finger at this site and accusing us of splitting the community. Whilst ever posts are made by moderators of other sites reffering to ours and saying: "Only w@nkers and sh1theads post there" Or whilst ever links to our site are censored out of pure spite, therefore pottentially denying owners access to information that may be useful to them - I will not be in any great hurry to chastise members here for having a little joke here or there. We do not censor links to other sites, we do not tollerate openly abusive posts towards other sites. Harmonising the community is a two way street, and short of censoring anything that could be construed as a slight "dig" we are doing NOTHING to split the community. Anyone who wants to accuse this site of splitting the Z community is free to come and have a chat with me at JAE, perhaps they will be able to answer some of the questions I have posed on other sites regarding this very censorship and split in the comunity issue? Sadly you will not be able to read them on another site as they have been deleted, several times over. Chris.
  3. If you make too much noise Ill pull your tent pegs out.
  4. Tim, I get a lot of our office stuff from these guys: (they are in the same office complex as myself) www.aocomputers.co.uk They do some basic systems that will be fine for most needs, unless its heavy graphic work or game playing. They built me a pentium 3.2 server, with 2GB of DDR, and 4 200GB serial ATA drives for about £600+ VAT. You can also pick and choose what bits you want or what you dont. Very friendly folk, and they have a walk in shop at the office if you want to collect/visit. The expensive bit will be the TFT screen though. They start at around £100+ on their own.
  5. http://videos.streetfire.net/video/2c2f ... 56f20b.htm How little inertia does a flywheel have to have in order to let a car do this!!
  6. Im actually looking at replacing my desktop PC with a laptop. Flavour of the month for me is an Acer Ferrari. There are probably better laptops for the money, but I just love the design.
  7. Glad it worked Tim. Its just one of those things. If it was a corrupt graphics driver, then in theory it shouldnt have made any difference - but Windows is a fickle beast. So who knows. The good news is its working. And if you are anything like me, it will have scared you enough to make sure you back up onto cd or dvd whatever is most important to you.
  8. Tracy can hold it?? Its a fridge FFS. LOL Ill see what I can come up with, but it will probably be warm beer.
  9. Only got enough room for my beer though. And it may not fit in the roadster...
  10. Nah - a campigaz one. Runs off gas. Or a fag lighter.
  11. Its the heat Val. Im sat here in front of my air con unit sweating cobs!
  12. Everyone has their reasons for non attendance. Things are often more important than a car club. We will be certain to make sure there are plenty of pics etc for all those who cant join us at the event.
  13. Im thinking of buying one of those portable fridges!
  14. Tim, loks like I may not be able to make it tonight - but try pressing F8 (press it avery couple of seconds while its booting) You should get to a menu offering safe mode - try that. if it gets you in, then shut down and try booting normally again. If you still have no joy, then back into safe mode and try re-installing the graphics card driver. I may be able to get over before the JAE weekend, but Ive got a lot on - sorry, Ill do my best.
  15. Fifth gear can be just as bad. I watched it last night waiting for the article about the two pick ups, as I am very interested in them (although the tax break is less now its still worth it). Only to be left with a two minute article about how the navara comes with a tent and is five seconds quicker racing it round a quarry. Woop de doo.. what a waste of time. And what was the point in hving that fat ginger bloater in the lambo racing around. That was just a pointless 10 minutes. Another thing I cant stand in fifth gear is the stupid car giveaways and the pathetic questions they ask. What a blatant "we need more funds so phone these £1 a go lines" situation that is. And what was with the first words out of the other guys mouth when reviewing the 911 turbo. "I have a vested interest in the outcome of this review, as I have already put my order in". Closely followed by "These cars cost a whopping 106 grand". Then at the end "I certainly wont be cancelling my order". Arrogant prick. Some may consider Clarkson to be arrogant, but I dont think he mentioned the cost of the Ford GT in the same sentence as "Ive ordered one".
  16. Tim, If you like I could pop round and have a look later - good excuse to take the Z out for a drive in the summer sun. Ive a few spare bits and bobs in the office I could bring just in case its a blown part. Just a few other questions though... Do you see anything windows related on the screen. By that I mean do you see your desktop or the log in prompt (anything that relies on the graphics driver doing its stuff rather than DOS graphics) What is the very last thing you se on the screen before it dies. What operating system are you runing (Win XP, win 98, win 2000 etc) Sounds to me like the PC is fine, and its just the graphics driver that is stuffed, causing it to black screen as soon as it gets out of DOS mode.
  17. One thing Ive always wondered, is how on earth do pilots practice stuff like that??!? Especially like the close formation flying in the first photo.. One twitch and could all go horribly wrong. Just how do they practice that for the first time? Very impressive stuff.
  18. I dont think the driver was pushing the Veyron in the corners, and look at it pull away on anything resembling a straight. It makes the Elise look like its stood still on anything remotely straight. If I had a million dollars spare - would I buy a Veyron? Oh yes.
  19. lets not start that old chestnut again shall we?
  20. Sorry Sarnie, its over the 467x102 pixel requirement. Seriously though - why not give it a go. The current image looks ok, as it blends into the white of the menu bar, so perhaps a harsh edge would not look quite so good? Time for photoshop... Also, dont forget, please email the designs over rather than posting them up here. Also if you are not happy with a design once it is emailed over, you can always email over another one before the closing date (two weeks today - so that will be midnight on Sunday the 30th). Only one entry per member allowed though, so if you do mail over several designs, be sure to let me know which one you want to go into the competition before Sunday the 30th.
  21. Perhaps a rule of last quarters winner can't enter. Then you could only possibly win it every six months.
  22. I have a feeling my Italian name would be - Watchas alota telli.
  23. Of course we are! The more the merrier - perhaps if you aren't confident enough with photoshop or the like, you could team up with someone who is, but doesnt want to use their own car? The cars dont have to be modified, in fact there dont have to be "cars" at all! Its open to every member, if you want your car to be considered, or even a photo of someone elses Z, just create a 467x102 image and email it over... And even if it is not successful this time around, the competition can be run every 3 months, so if you dont get your car up there this time, there will be further opportunities.
