  1. With pipelines being bomed in Nigeria, Japanese oil tankers being subject to attack and the Iranian prime minister stating that he feels oil is too cheap at $115 a barrel, its only going to get worse.
  2. Was it designed using a left over DeLorean, half a Lotus Excel and a few veggie colanders?
  3. Hi Paul, and welcome to the site. If you are a poker fan, I think you and Beavis will have plenty to talk about
  4. To be fair its had what some would describe as a truck load of money thrown at it, so if you wanted to build an exact copy, it would set you back much more than the 35k asking price. That said, it is £35k for a 2003 350Z, so the market will of course be severely limited to enthusiasts that fully appreciate exactly whats gone into the car (certainly beyond my level of technical know how). Of course such enthusiasts may wish to do this themselves rather than buy a "turnkey" highly tuned Z, regardless of cost. All the best to Giles with the sale, but sadly in todays climate Id guess a £35k Z will be hard to shift, even if its had double that thrown at it in its lifetime.
  5. Digsy - dont the above part numbers dictate two different widths? (doing some research myself too) i.e. 90-4-15-001 dictates 15mm per space (total track widening of 30mm) and 90-4-25-019 gives 25mm per side (total trak widening of 50mm)
  6. Hi, great to see another new owner join up - Im sure you will be grinning from ear to ear on the 8th

    Which Colour

Red calipers and black lettering - black calipers dissappear with the black rims.
  8. Hmm - yellow..... An evening with photoshop methinks... (apart from nipping out to get GTA IV at midnight - yes I am that sad).
  9. Welcome aboard I am sure you will not feel out of place, as above, we have plenty of members spanning all age ranges
  10. Hi and Great to see another new owner join up! You'll have a great day in Wales.
  11. Looks fantastic Jay ! As withothers, looking forward to seeing it in the flesh at Wales!
  12. B)B) I wouldnt lower that!
  13. Digsy, I was talking to Phil about the same thing, and if I recall correctly he would reccomend the ones which are totally hub centric. So you dont have any collar or shim to place within the centre of the spacer to stop it from moving within the wheel centre. They are machined to be a perfect fit to the wheel and therefore act as a load bearing extension to the hub. These then bolt to your hub (therefore extending the hub) and the wheel bolts onto the spacers. Phil has been running 50mm (yes fifty) on EACH side on one vehicle and it hasnt missed a beat on bearings etc. Heres some before and after pics: before: after:
  14. Not content with the horesbox idea, we now see the police taking to disguising the regular camera vans as joe public vehicles... http://www.pistonheads.com/news/default ... ryId=17951 This encourages people to have more respct for the law how exactly? I for one am starting to get a little fed up with how the police/camera partnerships are taking the mick out of the rules just to get more revenue. Again - can anyone tell me how this van, detecting numberplates on the front of vehicles, slows down motorcycles that account for 50% of fatal accidents on our roads?
  15. If they argue that the double red lines overide the sign, then I would ask why they dont just do away with the sign all together (which no doubt cost more than a couple hundred quid of tax payers money to put up in the first place) or replace it with a more apropriate one. The current sign on double reds may as well read: "Do ya feel lucky punk? Well, do ya?"
  16. Not happy with one of my tail pipes coking up considerably more than the other (dual system), and giving the rear bumper a nice darkish tinge near the pipe if I leave it too long Need to get the tail pipes to stick out further (at the moment they are flush with the bodywork) and investigate why one is coking more than the other.
  17. Take along your photo of the sign, the photo they sent you and digital casio watch. All you will need to do is show the man from the council what the digital time of 19:59 looks like on his watch. Feel free to plagiarise the following: "As you can see in this photograph, the sign says I am not allowed to stop here between 7 in the morning and 7 at night. Lets set your watch to the time it shows in this photo of my car, 19:59 see just like I can set it on this Casio. Now if you look at your watch, you can see Mickeys left hand is pointing at 8, and the moon is out behind him. So that means it is 8 at night in the photo you sent me, which is after 7 at night - just like the sign says. So I am allowed to stop. Do you need me to explain it again?"
  18. This looks like being fun Sounds like you will be taking the two letters, photographs of the sign and their automaton responses to court with you and making some council bod look a bit of a tit. When and where is it - can people come along and watch? Id love to see a council made to look stupid:)
  19. After my trip to the pumps in the Diesel Altea today and for the first time having the £60 cut off on the self service pumps cut in before th tank was full, I would suggest that if you are doing 75 miles a day in the Z you consider fuel economy as a major factor in your purchase. at 75 miles with the majority on the motorway, you are going to see somewhere around 25mpg I would think. Thats more than £13 per day in fuel. £65 a week, or almost £3k a year depending on your holidays. Thats before you do any other driving for pleasure. The Z will no doubt put a smile on your face, but the credit card bill for fuel for that number of miles certainly wont, also that sort of mileage on a car such as the 350 will also increase the depreciation rate on the car. There are those that use the Z as a daily drive, and do high miles, but the difference between a 2.0 diesel and a 3.5 petrol on fuel costs will be significant. Then there is the nice new tax bands created by Mr Darling - we are about to get hit for £300+ and next year its £400+. It may be worth considering a seperate "banger" for the motorway hack if possible - though obviously you have to weigh up whether you have room for it, the two lots of car tax, two lots of insurance etc against the extra depreciation and fuel costs of running Z daily. As for the suspension, unfortunately I have only ever driven 05 onward Z's so cannot compare the changes, sorry. EDIT: Edited to add we did a 2500 mile trip round Europe last year in the Z complete with all the luggage, and the Z ate the miles up. 450 mile trips in a single day were fine. The ride is stiffer than a typical motorway barge, but its not go-kart harsh.
  20. The only limiting factor at present is the capacity of the lunch venue of 100. There are 83 people confirmed, but only 81 meals booked, so thats room for 19 more for now.
  21. See requirements from Beavis posted below, other than those nothing else to do now unless you want to come out the night before with a few, then you will need to book a hotel (err which has just reminded me...!) 22. Hi, Its always great to see more owners sign up. Glad you can make the Wales run too, its a great opportunity to meet with fellow owners! Sounds like you have been busy during your ownership time already with that list of additions! Dont worry, this site is dedicated to the 350 and there are no plans to alter that. Regards, Chris.

    Swap

Agree with above, they should sort that for you. I know some car garages will have their own insurance schemes they can put you on (for up to 7 days) until you can get your own covernote arranged. Worth a shot?
  24. You mean you work, and you dont just listen to Marcus turning the air blue whilst fitting the latest carbon lip!
