  1. Past hour
  2. Thanks very much for the info I have used AO 52 in the past better tyres but I couldn't get any last October the AR1 is ok as long as it is dry. I will go with what you suggest and see how it goes
  3. 20psi seems too low if its a 350/370 your driving. I have never gone that low but that doesn’t mean i’m right your wrong. Just try a few combinations and see how the car feels, ultimately its what works for you, i have had no end of people tell me what pressures to run on the 350 at sprints/hillclimbs, they didn't work and do my own bum cheek testing now. I know the AR1s have a relatively stiff sidewall so you can get away with lower pressures but i would be very surprised if your didnt feel better turn in and sharper steering with pressure up near 30 at the front. I run usually 5psi less at rear for traction and due to car being lighter at the rear. From my experience the pressures only go up 1 or 2 psi on a sprint run where as on a track day they may well go up 10psi over numerous laps if pushing. I would try 30 front 25 rear and see how that feels, just for comparison my last sprint day with the 350 i was running 34 front 27 rear with yoko AD09. Last year with A052 it was 34 front 31 rear. I have run Ar1s in past but was 5 years ago so cant remember what pressures were but certainly no where as low as 20, dont think i have ever gone below 25 on any tyre, maybe should try it lol.
  4. Today
  5. Stunning thing. Many happy motoring miles 💙
  6. It’s certainly a lot of fun and very spirited. Admirers cannot believe the condition and it’s on original paint.
  7. I wondered if anyone with more experience than me has some information. I am doing a sprint at Lydden Hill in Kent in July I've done a lot of track days there and I set my pressures to 20psi cold and that seems to be about right. The sprint is 1.75 miles long I think even though it's a short course the standard road pressures with be to high any ideas ? I'm using AR1 tyres.
  8. I local garage just quoted me £2k to do the bonnet & front bumper, £1k of that is just for the paint itself. I just don't see how a few litres of paint can cost £1k
  9. Yesterday
  10. Yeah pal it's sweet bit of kit. The 5Ah was enough to do the whole car less the passenger door and front wing. I used the 2Ah to finish off the passenger door and front wing.
  11. Absolutely stunning this As a sunset orange owner this really is making me drool. Out of interest, what was insurance like with all the mods. I know it varies from person to person greatly but compared to other cars you have or have had.....
  12. Not many of these left that are being cherished. Must be fun running through all the gears in it without doing daft speeds like it's modern hyerhatch counterparts.
  13. +1 for Lockwood and Greenwood They been looking after my zed for past 16 years and she runs smooth as day 1. If you book in advance they offer a free courtesy car. Nothing special. Either an 06 Micra, an Aygo or a Nissan Note, but IT'S FREE
  14. Higher bhp figures and faster acceleration doesn't always translate into greater behind the wheel. Zeds and Miatas are a testament to this. May you and your Zed share many more joyous moments 👍
  15. Unfortunately that'll never be the case. Marzman isn't allowed within 100 yards of any school 😂
  16. Proper supercar silhouette and colour The type of car that school kids would have posters of in their bedroom. In years to come you'll be reading posts online of a petrolhead that read "My love of cars started when I was a young teen and I'd see this bloke in the neighborhood driving his blue Lotus Emira......"
  17. NEW TOYS! Did the battery have enough puff to do the whole car in one go?
  18. Congratulations. Enjoy the ownership experience. Can I have a fiver for every time you walk away and then turn back and look at it ?.
  19. Do remember fitting 4 x GT4 rims in mine. Took a while to figure it!!
  20. Cheers mate, heard some people saying they didn't notice a difference after uprev, but I've definitely noticed it! The mrev2 plenum has brought the power into the midrange more, as it's only driven on road I'm not bothered about power dropping at 6000rpm.
  21. Driving home from work yesterday in the Z i became aware of an RS4 suddenly looming in my rear view mirror. I was driving through a village with a 40 limit at the time which give me time to ponder what to do when the road opens up again: A. Take the moral high ground and do 50 and watch the RS disappear in the distance B. Drop to 3rd and totally floor it I knew that he knew that I knew we would both floor it. Jesus, the Z is seriously fast! It's like instantly away and it's fair to say the RS kept up but not around the bends. A lively drive home that brightened up an otherwise dull commute 🙂
  22. 310 ponies and relatively constant torque curve, not bad IMO
  23. Last week
  24. Yeah, took it for a proper run out today. The difference is night and day. Definitely worth doing. The car was also running massively lean, probably with the hfc's that were fitted in January, so I'm glad I had it done. Car feels more free now through the gears and can feel that extra bit of poke now when I put my foot down. 👍
