chrisday1990 Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 Hey people I have hear peoples clutches have lasted from between 40-100k with my clutch at 48k with what i think is a low biting point for a HR ( i understand biting points are characteristically high). might sound daft like a dull topic but its expensive to replace and want to get a general idea.... "obviously driving styles change the game some what" Quote
GMballistic Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 AFAIK mine is still on the standard clutch & flywheel currently just ticked over 95K miles. 2 Quote
Chris Wiltshire Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 I believe mine is on OEM, well theres no receipts in the history. It's on 92k now. A lot of chatter driving up a slope slowly which I think could be the flywheel. At 42k yours should be decent 1 Quote
JwBye19 Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 My 03 had a clutch at around 40k, I'm now on 82k and will need one before 90 I think Quote
The Trouser Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 I've owned my 04 Zed from new - still on the original clutch after 110k miles 3 Quote
35oz's Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 (edited) 03 zed just changed mine at 79k Is yours slipping? Edited July 1, 2015 by 35oz's Quote
GMballistic Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 110k on original clutch. You and "The Trouser" are joint winners so far. 1 Quote
Wasso Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 120k and when the engine was removed the clutch still had plenty of life in it, and I mean plenty. Quote
Zedd Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 My clutch went at 56k, and it was down to the metal! Quote
Lyndzzz Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 Just gone over the 90k mark and I'm on the original clutch too Quote
ZEUS Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 120k and when the engine was removed the clutch still had plenty of life in it, and I mean plenty. Now that's just showing off Ian Quote

Now that's just showing off Ian That's how I got the nickname "Driving Miss Daisy" at the ZedShed. It's callled taking care of your car as far as I know. I also ran NOS for a while, bit of Nurburgring and plenty of Wales. 1 Quote
HassanZ Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 Mine's on it's original clutch and flywheel. Previous owner had it for 8.5 years and confirmed the clutch/flywheel was never changed, he purchased it with barely any miles on it. It's just ticked over 91k I believe... I thought this was a very rare occurrence but after seeing this thread I'm beginning to think this clutch lifespan is very common! Quote
jimmy.farrow7 Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 Mine is still on the original at 60k, what price are you looking at though once they do finally go Quote
Kaveney Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 92K but going to be changed in a few weeks . Alan Quote
Durk Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 75k here and no receipts to show the clutch has been changed... don't expect to have to change it for a while to be honest! Quote
Randy_Baton Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 Mine went at 75K about 1k after i brought it. Changed the slave cylinder, fly wheel and clutch for £1k inc. labour. Quote
Alex350z Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 98k and still original as far as i know. Bite is quite high now though! Quote
350zroadsterGT Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 Mine started slipping last year while on the motorway @ 34k miles. £1100 to Nissan for a new OEM one to be fitted... Ouch! Always read lots of stuff saying knock the zed out of gear at lights and junctions, don't ride the clutch, that advice didn't seem to have helped me... They did say the plate was 50% worn though so not sure what caused it to slip so much? Quote
Zeezeebaba Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 Currently on 80k miles with some bearing chatter in neutral with the clutch released. Slightly notchy into second gear but it still bites ok. Quote
guBBy Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 I'm currently on 61k. Can't find any recipes to say it's been changed so got to assume it's the original. I get chatter in neutral with the clutch released the same as zeezeebaba. I can find it tricky at low revs to engage the clutch smoothly when changing gears but above 2.5k I never have a problem. Maybe I'm just crap at driving mind you 😳 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
