monkeybrain1234 Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 New car for the wife, she has always wanted an MR2, out goes the Yaris and welcome mid engine MR2, we waited 3 months for the right one to turn up. Totally worth waiting. Gun Metal Grey, 2005, hardtop, TTE kit, Sports exhaust, AC, heated seats, 60k miles, FSH, Really happy with it. We are now the most impractical couple I know, a Z and MR2! Anyone else had one before? 1 Quote
Bems Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 Looks nice. There's a few on here already, two I believe are track cars. Quite fancy one myself at some point Quote
GMballistic Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 Never had one before no but it look's very nice with the hard top I think. Hope she enjoys the new motor. Quote
roasties Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 I had one a couple of years back - did couple of trips round the west coast highlands in it. Was an amazing car and would have another, although next time would have to be a turbo! Quote

brillomaster Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 looks nice. I used to be a sceptic before, but having been in one, they're actually a hoot to drive. Need to convince my missus to buy one! Quote

monkeybrain1234 Posted April 29, 2015 Author Posted April 29, 2015 It is quite good fun on the road to drive, not a power and torque brute like the Z, but it does shift as its so light and nimble. I know we have already bought it but anything any of you recommend checking or being aware of? Quote
Ekona Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 Ditch the precats if you haven't already, and don't believe anyone who tells you that you don't need to on FL cars: I wrote the book* on that subject, and you'll see my Sticky on both the OC and ROC (and some other places who have pinched it, too!). Tyre sizes & pressures are pretty critical on the MR2, more so than anything else other than an Elise, so check they're right. If you do no other mods at all, get yourself a front strut brace as it absolutely transforms the handling. *Well, not a book, more a page on an internet forum. Close enough though! 1 Quote

In fact, if you want to be pedantic (which I do ), he said all the cool kids have MR2s... plural. Dan only has the one, doesn't he? Quote
Ekona Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 Technically it's one and a half, with all the bits of old ones I've still got! 1 Quote
