philw99 Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 So want a turbo fitting to the Z, Know people have said on here before if you want a turbo car go buy one. Still think it would be amazing to have one fitted to the Z. Just know i'd introduce a massive amount of unreliability, plus the cost is unbelievable. Quote
mouthwash Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 (edited) I'd direct any questions to someone like A9H-RX ( I think that's his username ) as he's got a tt Zed and know he's put a lot of effort into it . But you've already answered your own questions about it, cost is prohibitive for most people as it's more than the car is worth.. Sorry if this is just a statement about the fact you want a turbo, in which case, I want one too. Edited October 2, 2014 by mouthwash 1 Quote
Grundy Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 We wouldn't say go buy a turbo'd car, maybe say go buy a turbo'd Zed. Turbo build your looking at £15k+ easy. Quote
philw99 Posted October 2, 2014 Author Posted October 2, 2014 (edited) Just don't want to let go of the Z! imagine what car i could get for 15k. Just starting to feel it's inevitable 😃 Edited October 2, 2014 by philw99 Quote

mouthwash Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 I'd imagine it's pretty expensive to put a 1JZ engine in a 350z? I don't actually know as I've never looked at the cost? Quote
philw99 Posted October 2, 2014 Author Posted October 2, 2014 Well funny you should say about the 1JZ. I'm pretty sure my brother has one sat in his Supra, might have to get my hands on that. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Quote
StevoD Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 or do the new trend and drop a 1jz in it thats so yesterday now ...... 1jz Bgw all so 2014 New years comeing and all that 1 Quote
Jetpilot Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 (edited) I would imagine once you have bought a 1 or 2 jz engine, fitting kit, ecu and all the other associated costs it would be the same as fi'ing the v6. http://www.ebay.co.u...A-/230950395528 Edited October 2, 2014 by Jetpilot Quote
Grundy Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 10K+ for engine and ecu etc. But then you need labour and you also need to budget for little things that you forget. Quote
Ekona Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 Never mind supporting mods. Plus constant fettling. Plus higher running costs. But yeah, done correctly it can be good fun. 1 Quote
