As per title car is currently with the boys at Horsham developments in for a p3 plus all fluids, diff & gearbox oils, aux belts, plugs.

Have a issue at lower speeds with a pulsing feeling when braking, its not through the pedal its slight but I can feel it in the car, recent front discs so can't see it would be warped discs?

Anyway I am sure there sort it,maybe unclean surface before discs were fitted?

While doing service they said the compression bushing on the banana arms are worn/perished so doing both sides with uprated super pro items,£400!!!! Gulp!!

Rear discs need doing and pads all-round at 50% life left gonna leave them and do myself as to keep costs down a bit!

Gonna hopefully have car back Monday if the can get bushes done Monday!

Also going to rob a bank to pay bill but don't tell anyone!!

right more bad news!!

picked car up and now slight pulsing from the front brakes has turned into a big shake/vibration under use!they fitted new banana arm bushes(superpro),seems odd its now MUCH worse than when I left the car with them!.

spoke to Horsham as soon as I got home and want £300 more to do front discs that's 20% off gesture of goodwilli thought about it over last night and I don't have the time to go up there before my trip as I leave sunday. have gone to a local disc skimmer I found and am having front discs skimmed plus new pads for £150,hope this sorts problem because if not I WILL be asking the chaps to sort it at Horsham.

i am more than unhappy with the situation.

with me luck!

Seems a disc skimming has done the trick!!!!

They fitted new pads, skimmed the mating faces and the discs also removed all corrosion from areas and I am glad to say I am judder free!

While that was being done I had my Goodyear f1 asymmetric 2 tyres fitted to the rays wheels I refurbished and then had them put on!

Ready for my French road trip on Sunday now!

Been a long and stressful week so far hope that's it car wise!!

Will say if anyone in Hampshire is suffering with judder from brakes I can recommend hutfields of botley to skim brakes and at £40 a disc there's a big saving on new discs!!

Are you sure it;s not just brake pad imprint on the discs?

http://www.mossmotors.com/SiteGraphics/Pages/brake_discs.html

That's exactly what I have done to mine!....sitting on the brake pedal at junctions not good in a zed. Juddery brake city! It's a characteristic of the car though.

Could have just done some heavy braking got loads of head into the disks and it might have improved it without skimming?

I thought skimming was just for warped disks not to remove pad material

Glad its sorted :)

We checked out the disks because Si mentioned the vibration during the service. The front left disk had a load of DTV (disk thickness variation) - limit is 0.015mm his had around 0.05mm - so well out of spec.

I think the vibration was worse after we did the bushes because the old bush on the side with the wonky disk was barely attached to the arm.
