chirag1988 Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 What's the best way to remove the residue left behind when removing a badge from your car? I'm going to be changing my front nissan badge to a zed burger and I had a hard time removing the residue when I did the rear. What's the most effective/easiest way to do this? Quote
GIXXERUK Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 hot water, hair dryer or if it is just glue use wd40 Quote
amadour Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 you get a sort of rubber wheel for a grinder but an alternative (with a bit of elbow grease) is a hard pencil eraser 1 Quote

marzman Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 I've been using this stuff recently... £3-odd from B&Q and it works a treat. http://reviews.diy.com/2191-en_gb/10287730/reviews.htm Quote

GMballistic Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 I used elbow grease and auto Glym tar remover +1. Autoglym Intensive tar remover should do it but failing that WD40 usually works. Quote
chirag1988 Posted March 9, 2014 Author Posted March 9, 2014 Got it off in the end with the hook and pick tool that gixxer recommended, wd40 to remove the residue and stuck the new one Will put the pic up in mod of the day Quote
Jp606 Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 (edited) Heat gun to remove badge and then I sprayed on Imperial Wax Tar and Glue remover on the residue (got it my Waxybox last month) then just scraped it off with a plastic scraper. Takes about 5 minutes. Really good stuff Edited March 9, 2014 by Jp606 Quote

iLott Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 Like I said when I removed mine I used fishing line and autoglym tar remover, worked a treat but needed a lot of elbow grease! Quote
Rock_Steady Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 I just use t-cut. rub it like a world champion and it gradually gets all gooey. wipes right off. Quote
