Grundy Posted January 28, 2014 Author Posted January 28, 2014 Cool. Going to have to try this soon. Just the colour to decide now. Liking the orange but not for me Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk Don't worry, I've got some stuff to match, along with a surprise Quote
SamN Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 Need to do mine as the previous owner did them purple and it's a @*!# job lol Quote
Grundy Posted January 29, 2014 Author Posted January 29, 2014 Another little preview... Trying to get as many snaps to help anyone out considering spraying, to see the different layers etc. I'm just hoping by tomorrow, my different colour idea works 1 Quote
Grundy Posted January 29, 2014 Author Posted January 29, 2014 Also, how easy is it to remove the plastic base below the Battery/Brake Fluid lids go? The one with the rubber seal along it. Quote
GMballistic Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 Also, how easy is it to remove the plastic base below the Battery/Brake Fluid lids go? The one with the rubber seal along it. Very easy. Just held on by plastic pop rivets as far as I remember. Quote

I'll have a look in the morning, are these the types that you use a flat head to pop up? I usually end up snapping these And I don't want to do that this time. Quote
tony.r123 Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 Looking good, what colour are you going to do the door handles? changed mine as i didn't like the silver on a sunset either Quote
SamN Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 I need to finish spraying my badges but no time, at this rate I will be badge-less for Saturday dyno day!! Quote

Yes a flat head screw driver should do the job but more than likely at least one will break. You can buy them on eBay easily enough though and dead cheap (I paid £3 odd for 10 including P&P last time I needed some). 1 Quote
Grundy Posted January 29, 2014 Author Posted January 29, 2014 Cheers guys! Going to colour code them Tony. Again another update - Right, so here's me trying to be artsy crafty and trying something different...In my head, this seemed very simple However, can anyone suggest a good way to stencil these (might not be the right term to use) The 3 and the 5 and really quite fine, and the masking tape/Stanley blade don't seem to be the best way off getting into those gaps to block off. Long story short - going 2 tone colour and need to get the V6 3.5 different to the case. Quote
ZEUS Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 Try using a scalpel they are so much better for the job than a Stanley knife Quote
GIXXERUK Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 Nice work and in sure the pics will help someone in the future 1 Quote
Grundy Posted January 30, 2014 Author Posted January 30, 2014 (edited) Another little update - Door handles are off - Delving into the deep!!!! Bit of DIY A4 paper wrapped round the mechanism with masking tape. Edited January 30, 2014 by grundy225 Quote
ZEUS Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 You have been busy! How easy was it to remove the handles? I've got this job looming Quote
Grundy Posted January 30, 2014 Author Posted January 30, 2014 Really easy to remove, Once unbolted, lift upwards and pull out. Now getting them back in looks a little trickier - You need to slot the metal rod from the 5th picture into the hole of the picture from the 4th picture. Quote
ZEUS Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 Cheers mate, might have a go at it tomorrow Quote

GMballistic Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 Make sure you get some good pictures if you can grundy225 of when you put the door handles back on. Would like to see how it goes back together. Quote

If that happens my guess would be you'd need to take the entire door card off to get the bolt. Quote
ZEUS Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 As GM said it will be a door card off job! Quote
