I never understand why people hate MOTs.. If anyone is worried about an MOT, doesn't that mean they're not ensuring their car is in good mechanical order all year round?

I think it could be more down to the fact that you drive around all year in your car thinking it's all good, ...only to "occasionally" get a nasty shock when it come's to MOT time and they find a whole heap of problems you had no idea where there.

Tyre's, brakes & lights are easy to check yourself but a lot of people won't even have a clue what else to look at/check regularly on there car or before there MOT.

I wouldn't bother with OEM, get the Powergrid or Whiteline ones.

Is it advisable to fit these with suspension mods? I have some Tein S Tech lowering springs to fit along with Eibach ARBs in the new year and I'm not sure if it would be best to swap the OEM drop links for some adjustable ones whilst I'm there?

If you're fitting new ARBs, I'd fit new drop links. Sod's law says if you don't budget for then then they'll be seized to hell and need replacing anyway.

I'm thinking about any alignment issues really, wouldn't it be best to fit all suspension mods at the same time then get an alignment done? I'm itching to fit my springs as they've been sat in my garage for weeks, but I'm going to get some ARBs in January and don't want to have an alignment twice.

Re the adjustable drop links, I agree Ekona. I do have a slight squeak from cold at the rear which I suspect to be a worn drop link so was looking at changing them anyway, just not sure whether to go for adjustable or OEM.

I would definitely wait until you can do it all in one to. In theory you could get away with changing the ARBs and not having an alignment done, but you might clout something and leave it needing doing anyway.

In that case, I'd fit the springs now and fit arbs and drop links as and when you get them. Springs need a few weeks to settle anyway before alignment.
