How much is an apexi filter, surely if you put the costs together you'd be able to get a higher quality item?

Desey I wouldn't bother honestly.

Have a look on the Tarmac Sportz website as I'm sure for the price of that ebay item + a decent filter & delivery you could easily find a better low cost kit on there site.

Your do get what you pay for and it is probably a good thing to support the traders on the site who do a really good job with price, supply and communication etc. but if you are on a budget then all you really need is: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/160416907623?ssPageName=STRK:MESINDXX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1436.l2648 and http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Aluminium-Alloy-HeatShield-Heat-Shield-Air-Filter-Protect-Protection-Universal-/190885992029?pt=UK_DIY_Materials_Plumbing_MJ&var=&hash=item2c71b1165d they work as well as any and unless you are going for big power upgrades then with a decent remap you wont notice the difference.

I got the exact same one. DO NOT fit the pipe. I noticed the inside had metal filings. I fitted the filter on its own to replace my pop charger and lasted 10 minutes before going rusty.

I now have an aem short ram. Can't fault it and is a premium quality kit. If you don't like noise, just go for a panel filter.

Yeah was kinda a shot in the dark tbh

looking at a k+n typhoon or aem, heard they rock

My old kn was loud on my fiesa, how are they on Z's?

As there is nothing to be gained from fitting a tube induction kit, for the money they are fine, the filter is not all that but will do the job for six months or so, and then easily replaced, they will unclutter the engine bay and sound good, the long type will actually locate in a position that will give just as much cold air as the std box.

I fitted one to my 350GT as I was damed if I would pay four or five times as much to achieve exactly the same result, after all its just an alloy tube with a cone filter no matter how much you pay.

The thickness of the tube on the cheap kits it like half of that of a tin can  But if all your after is noise then go for it but I would prefer a better made kit with a filter that is going to do its job

I got the shorter one from them and can't really fault it for the money. . . .

It's cheap and cheerful but makes a nice induction noise. . . If that's what your going for. .
