Daveyboy11 Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 Hi guys and girls, I need help deciding which colour I should spray my RAYS. The wheels need to refurbished anyway so I'm going to get them done in a different colour. My zed is Grey and I was thinking of going with Black wheels? Quote
Stutopia Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 I went for a chrome effect after agonising about it in photoshop. As post above, I felt darker colours can get lost in there on a GM. I very nearly went cobalt! It's a very personal thing though, there are no wrong answers. Except GREEN 2 Quote
GMballistic Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 I'd go for something like what SuperStu has done personally. I do like the black wheels that 350 Ad posted too but as mentioned it does seem to make them look a little small. Quote
Daveyboy11 Posted October 17, 2013 Author Posted October 17, 2013 Thanks guys, so many options! I didn't know whether a 'loud' colour would look silly or not? I do like the Black though! Quote
ioneabee Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 I like the darker colours on a GM as well - but as others have said its a very personal taste thingy Quote
hensh65 Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 Bronze seems to be a colour on the way up I would go for red though, they would really pop with a GM Quote

Has anyone got any pictures of GM with Red wheels by any chance?? Quote

hensh65 Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 There is a member currently selling the GT alloys in candy red, it is on a blade silver but the colours are similar so should give you an idea Quote
Mrs Buster Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 If you go with black and have a silver lip they wont look small. Personally I think you should go yellow!! 1 Quote

dragon Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 Shadow chrome the place down the road from me quoted £60 a corner Quote
Daveyboy11 Posted October 17, 2013 Author Posted October 17, 2013 Ahh I see, there's a place near me that does £35 a wheel if the colour is Black or White. Nice and cheap if I want to go with just Black! Quote

Stutopia Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 This is the shadow chrome I was after, you'll recognise it from Beamers all over. The reason he gave me a big price was it was a multi coat and colour, paint only finish, to get it as per BMW quality. These are some BMW wheels he happened to have in and he offered up to the car. I very nearly went for these and had the wheels off him too. Another, darker, take on shadow chrome here. There are many variations. But then I got over shadow chrome and got into Formula Silver. But then I had a cobalt phase Followed by a bronze phase, I really liked this, but was worried it might end up gold and look like a wannabe scooby. Then I flirted with red, but once I got about half way through mocking up the pic, I decided I didn't like it, so not a great job on this pic. Part of me wishes I was brave enough to go for the cobalt, I think that would rule, but I think I'm getting too Danny Glover, too old for that @*!#. Quote
