WhackyWill Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 Very sad to see cars wrecked like that...Russians couldn't give a Fu**ck. Bet they were supposed to be in containers. Quote

The guy who paid for the transporting of the vehicles, didn't want to pay extra to put them in containers. He signed a release saying that the deck would be okay. 1 Quote
The Bounty Bar Kid Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 A total of 64 cars were aboard cargo ship Astongate traveling from Toyama, Japan, to Vladivostok, Russia. After the storm hit the ship -- 52 of them ended up at the bottom of the sea. Whoever bought those cars signed a document allowing the cargo to be transported on ship's deck at their own risk. Quote

Ian Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 I thought they would be in containers?! Crazy! Containers are stupidly expensive nearly all cars coming in by boat will be driven on & driven off Quote
Vik54 Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 why would anyone in their right mind sign off on open deck carriage instead of a container at their own risk? ! Quote
