Gudzy Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 Seems to come with a throttle body also, looks like someone got a bargain. Cheaper than a plenum spacer even! Quote
Wasso Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 And they look f'ugly!! I wouldn't bother to be perfectly honest. Quote
Stew Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 Some cracked in the states. Never heard of them cracking here. Quote
rtbiscuit Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 without an FI setup they make as much power gain as me farting into your air intake. there were cracking issues with the early ones but they brought out an improved version, and the big advantage of them is they are easy to paint. Quote
coldel Posted July 13, 2012 Author Posted July 13, 2012 I think one or two cracked in the US, which was then commented on by about 10,000 people on forums, making it sound like more of an issue than it actually was... ...I actually thought good deal, throttle body for nowt really! Quote
Stew Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 without an FI setup they make as much power gain as me farting into your air intake. Rubbish. They produce gains the same as a spacer as they do the same job. The polished up SSV (now velocity) really needs FI to see gains though, maybe this is what you're thinking of. Quote
Wasso Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 It's still f'ugly Edit - I'd prefer Rich to fart in my intake than have that - sorry Quote
Keyser Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 It's still f'ugly Edit - I'd prefer Rich to fart in my intake than have that - sorry Would he fit under the bonnet? Also he wouldn't be a permanent mod would he? Quote

Daryl Posted July 14, 2012 Posted July 14, 2012 We shall see what state it it arrives in,itl need a repaint,so may go with something like my blue Typhoon intake pipe, happens to be very close match to Azure. Or i may just do it black,we shall see. Will i need the Uprev straight after fitting,or will i get away without one for the time being? Quote
Wasso Posted July 14, 2012 Posted July 14, 2012 You should be ok without having the uprev, but just keep an eye on things. Didn't I read someone added some mods and was running lean somewhere, not sure what they were or how many mods. Although saying that I swapped out my lower plenum and had no issues, and on the revup it makes nice gains so the changes were coped with and adjusted by the ecu with no issues. Wonder if you can polish them up?? If not like you say clean it up and powdercoat blue. Quote
Ian Posted July 14, 2012 Posted July 14, 2012 How did we all cope before uprev came along It was the SSV that had the cracking issues & that was normally only ever under boost. Just be aware that you will need spacers to raise the strut brace a bit & also that a Cusco strut won't fit over this - not sure about any other after market braces though Quote
