Thanks for OP. Didn't know about this so I'm quite glad he made a thread. Ordered one. Worth a try for £15

Last post on that thread was on Mon Aug 15, 2011. I wouldn't have seen it from when I purchased my car and started to use the forum.

  • 3 weeks later...

Hi guys,

Just searching the forum and found this fairly recent post. I don't have an andriod or iphone, but would like to read the codes off my car and reset them.

What is the best cable/software combination for me to use on my laptop to read the codes? Mine is a UK 55 plate 350z if that makes any difference.

Cheers in advance!

I've got one of these

Pretty sure you can get this from the usual suspects.

Cheers for the info. I was looking for something more basic, as all I'd like to be able to do is to read codes and reset the light.

Would something like this do the trick?

Purchased one, made sure it was a UK based one so should hopefully be here before the bank holiday weekend, happy days!

Is the software these come with easy to use? (I won't be using it from a phone, just a laptop)

Hi guys. My reader arrived last week, and I've just got around to giving it a try. I actually opted for the USB rather than the bluetooth one, just so I could be confident in its connection.

I've tried the numerous bits of software that came with it, and non really work very well (some don't even pick up that I have the lead connected, some pick it up for a short while etc). I did get one working, but it was a demo version of another piece of software.

Does anyone have any recommendations for software I can run on the laptop to use this?

Cheers,

digimoto 5 was what i used on my laptop was very good. still have it and the cable, but it won;t install on my works laptop as my works laptop is ghey.

I'm looking for a free one to be honest (or at least one I can try for free to check it works, after all these dodgyly written pieces of software keep crashing), unless you know where I can get a copy for free?

Cheers,
