Richsouth Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 Hi all just wondered if anyone uses this? i have it all set and ready to go other than attaching the Diagnostic dongle to the ECU. Is this all i need ? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Android-Torqu ... 613wt_1163 And is it literally a case of plug in to ECU and connect to it using the app via bluetooth? Quote

bkjmr Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 Thanks for OP. Didn't know about this so I'm quite glad he made a thread. Ordered one. Worth a try for £15 Last post on that thread was on Mon Aug 15, 2011. I wouldn't have seen it from when I purchased my car and started to use the forum. Quote

ric Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 Hi guys, Just searching the forum and found this fairly recent post. I don't have an andriod or iphone, but would like to read the codes off my car and reset them. What is the best cable/software combination for me to use on my laptop to read the codes? Mine is a UK 55 plate 350z if that makes any difference. Cheers in advance! Quote
planetsurfer2 Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 I've got one of these http://www.uprev.com/products.php#product_cipher Pretty sure you can get this from the usual suspects. Quote
ric Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 I've got one of these http://www.uprev.com/products.php#product_cipher Pretty sure you can get this from the usual suspects. Cheers for the info. I was looking for something more basic, as all I'd like to be able to do is to read codes and reset the light. Would something like this do the trick? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Auto-Car-V1-4 ... 9699867568 Cheers, Quote
planetsurfer2 Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 Haven't used one myself. I would think so. Could be a worth a punt for a tenner. Quote
Andy75 Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 That's the one I have ric, works well with my Galaxy Tab and the Torque app. Never tried to reset any warning lights with it tho, if you want me to investigate, shoot me a PM. Quote
spursmaddave Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 Just ordered one to try on my new Android tablet Quote
Sam Mcgoo Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 I bought my OBDII reader a couple of years ago from ebay for about £28. Can use it on my android phone using Torque or on my laptop with the supplied software. And they are much cheaper now. http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from= ... Categories Quote
ric Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 Purchased one, made sure it was a UK based one so should hopefully be here before the bank holiday weekend, happy days! Is the software these come with easy to use? (I won't be using it from a phone, just a laptop) Cheers, Quote
ric Posted April 11, 2012 Posted April 11, 2012 Hi guys. My reader arrived last week, and I've just got around to giving it a try. I actually opted for the USB rather than the bluetooth one, just so I could be confident in its connection. I've tried the numerous bits of software that came with it, and non really work very well (some don't even pick up that I have the lead connected, some pick it up for a short while etc). I did get one working, but it was a demo version of another piece of software. Does anyone have any recommendations for software I can run on the laptop to use this? Cheers, Quote

I'm looking for a free one to be honest (or at least one I can try for free to check it works, after all these dodgyly written pieces of software keep crashing), unless you know where I can get a copy for free? rtbiscuit Posted April 11, 2012 Posted April 11, 2012 i might be able to send you a "trial" version Quote
