stevo1179 Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 Our Celica is coming towards the end of its useful life. So we are looking a somewhat unscheduled change of car, haven't got much money to spend due to a recent arrival. Cars I have short listed are Saab 93 (2006'ish) saloon, Skoda Octavia VRS (2005) Audi A4 (2003/4), any other suggestions? Got about £4k, need reasonable boot, 4 doors, something that still a little bit fun. Any thoughts? Quote

LRF4N Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 Saab 93 aero? Looks nicer than the standard saloon but not overstated, high spec, very comfy and 210bhp http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/ ... ?logcode=p http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/ ... ?logcode=p Quote
coldel Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 Just check the cost of parts before you go Saab - I would suspect it could be hard to get now? Quote
EH 370z Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 You wouldn’t be bored driving the Skoda from experience! stevo1179 Posted February 18, 2012 Author Posted February 18, 2012 Thanks guys, those 9-3's look good, not sure she'd 210bhp, the 175bhp might be more appropriate. http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/ ... ?logcode=p This one caught my eye, hopefully those nurburgring stickers would come off. lrh Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 Octavia vRS has a hugely tunable VW engine. The only one that'll be worth something when you come to sell Quote

stevo1179 Posted February 21, 2012 Author Posted February 21, 2012 Update, apparently the Octavia is an old man's car, so looking more closely at 9-3's, A4, etc Quote

rabbitstew Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 Can you really get a 2003/2004 A4 for 4k?! Thats mad. I was looking at 2001 models of them a few years back and they were 14grand. Amazing how much they have depreciated. Saying that, id probably go for the A4. I test drove quite a few and really liked them. Quote

spursmaddave Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/ ... ?logcode=p That is peanuts for a nice car, I expect the soot chuckers hold their value slightly better.... Quote
