Nissan customer service aftercare experience ?

I have just had to have my flwheel and clutch assembly replaced, at 4900 miles, needless to say I was less than pleased, the car was 10 months old when I purchased it, so maybe an number of low flying test pilots had give the clutch a hard time at the garage I bought it from before it came to me, however Nissan replaced the lot under warranty no messing, also Chorley Nissan (the Wigan branch) polished out a large scratch down the side of the car, which some kind individual left me, plus valeted the car inside and out , cleaned the alloys and blackened the tyres too, when I got it back it looked as if it was just new out of the showroom, oh yes the clutch is great now, it was smelling badly before, that is what I call exellent after care.

I was wondering if this is a normal aftercare service from a Nissan main dealers or I am just sort of lucky in adversity lol :D

Sounds a very good and very fair result to me

Must admit that for all the negative stuff I've heard on here over the years about main dealers and NMGB in general being terrible, I've had nothing but completely positive experiences when dealing with them and warranty claims.

Very hit and miss, but there are still good guys out there. Warranty claims very much depend on your dealer putting a good clear argument together for you. I would stick with this dealer now you've found a good one if you need any warranty work doing

Must admit as said above I think it is hit and miss, luckily my claim for a new roof went through without any issue, thought Nissan may try and say I had caused the damage but no issues at all.

I would hope going back to the dealer that supplied the car should count for something.

On our previous 370Z the dealer went from being very helpful pre-sale to very disinterested in helping post sale. I asked about getting the sat nav software updated and about the possibility of a panel repaint on what I thought was quite a bad mismatch between the rear bumper and the body of the car. The reaction to both can best be described a shrug of the shoulders / "not our problem" (the car was still under warranty) Good to hear the some people have a better experience.

I think this is great to hear. Im all for publicly praising and also naming and shaming dealers that dont live up.

Incidentaly - i dont want to hijack the thread but - im considering an upgrade to a 370z soon and wanted to know what people think of motorline Nissan in Tunbridge Wells in the south-east?

Also, are their any other garages in the area where people (particularly 370 owners) have had great post purchase experiences?

One of the amazing things about this dealer is, I did not buy the car from them, I got the car from Fish Brothers in Swindon, I took the car to the Wigan branch of Chorley Nissan because it was the nearest for me, and they provide a curtesy car for the duration of your own car's absence. So from the looks of it, I just got lucky it would appear it is the strength of the particular Dealer service team that would count, and worth looking in to if you are considering making an imminent purchase.

Just a note, a guy I know is a car paint specialist, he particularly specialises in Japanese performance cars, he told me that the body of the car and the plastic bumpers are sprayed in different factories on virtually ALL new cars, and if you look in bright light you can almost always see the miss match. Just thought I would let you know that so you know why you got that, to put it right the bumber would need re-spraying and cutting/grading into the main bodywork

So pleased you have had a good experience at your local Nissan Centre.

I think over the last 18 month Nissan have really tried to bring the network in to line a bit, with the "Nissan Care 4U" initiative, seems to be working well, so far, but time will tell ultimately. The good news is that there is now more opportunities for centres to earn extra cash on CSI bonuses for getting it right!

I have never understood why warranty issues should be so hard to administer from a dealership point of view, its money for old rope TBH and a great money spinner for the centre as the money is paid directly to them from NMGB at a good labour rate!? Therefore in theory the only issue with some warranty claims is Nissans willingness to cover the issue as part of their T's & C's

Thanks - I've heard various explanations for the mismatch. I accept that it appears on most cars to one extent or another, but it can be particularly visible on some of the white 370s. (I was told by a Nissan approved bodyshop that quite a few white GTRs have had their bumpers reresprayed under warranty due to this problem recently). The panel match on our new Black Edition is very good, so I'm not stressing over it any more  (Just for interest - it showed much more in dull light on our car - it was much less visible in good light)

I have a black 370 too (although not the black edition) and the colour matching on that is pretty good, however before that I had a red 350 in which I was shunted up the rear b*geration just before christmas too, neccessitating a new rear bumper, the resultant insurance job was very poor (sh*t in fact), unfortuantely I was working away from home when at the time it was done, I had to have the colour matching put right by my mate, so if you do have any remedial paint work to be done, it pays to have a long hard look at it, I suppose not rely on anybody who is not experienced in looking for colour missmatch like my wife. :scare:
