You can't get oil temp on the obd2 on the Zed.

I'm pretty sure there is not an oil temp sensor on the car. The ecu only uses water temp I think.

I've fitted an oil Temp sensor and gauge for that reason.

This is what I was thinking.....

And again for us basic english speakers please smile.gif

ok.

you hook a little box into your car (where dealers put a reader into under the steering wheel) then you hook this box up onto your smartphone via bluetooth, install the torque app in the market (andrpoid) I got the paid version. you can then add loads of gauges on your smartphone that can monitor different aspects of your cars data that the ecu collects. CAn read and reset CEL lights too. and do more nice things thumbs.gif drinks battery though so best be is to get a 1amp usb charger for the cig lighter.

Bit of a bummer when the phone rings though!

I'm digging this up because I just got an ELM 327 Bluetooth and it doesn't work on my UK 2005. Any ideas? Im on android it pairs to my phone ok but the apps can't connect to it. I've tried about 8 different free apps so far.

I have an elm 327 also connects to android fine but wouldn't read the ECU so got the Vgate one that won't connect to the Bluetooth at all

Have you entered the password and adjusted the settings in torque as per the destructions? (our of interest)

Loads of threads on this syy, the elms are hit and miss, i have two sat here that ddint work so bought the vgate which worked first time, but not for Sherlock.

Been using this app a bit (not on the Z much). Got the fully paid version using a bluetooth dongle from ebay. Well spent monies so far. Just wondering if anyone here know what data you can read from the Z (full version) and if any of the below PIDs work.

PIDS that work out of the box with Torque:

Load

Fuel Level

RPM

Intake Temp

Intake manifold pressure(in kPa)

Coolant Temp

Vacuum/Boost Gauge

Barometric Pressure

Mass air flow rate(in g/s not voltage)

Throttle Position

Timing Advance(Works, at WOT shows near 0 degrees. Yay stock tune!)

Enhanced PIDs you have to manually enter

Long name & short name can be whatever you want. I tried to stick to conventional names.

Has anyone had any luck getting these manual entered PIDs to work?

I've tried to get the PIDs to work but no success. Not too bothered as I really only got mine to check and clear codes if they ever came up (can't for the life of me get the pedal dance to work, so for the sake of a tenner I can do codes instantly and also have lots of pretty output dials if needed!)
