Boot lrelease issues!

Is anyone having any problems with opening the boot on their 370?

when i first got the car it took a single press to release the boot no problem.

However each time i now i go to open the boot (after pressing the release once) it opens part way then seems to get stuck and wont relase completely until ive pressed the button again....its starting to annoy me now and wonder if this is a common issue?

Sounds like the issue with the 350 - i,e you need to prop the boot release up with pennies!

 

Some things dont change - if its in warranty get the stealers to fix it for you

I assume its the same issue that we get on 350z, if so they lose their spring memory see this link for info, it has already been in many topics before.

It sounds like there was a tsb out in the states for it.

Like the 350's the hatch on the 370's will not always open without a helping hand - here is the US TSB - and like other documents Nissan use 350 images

I think you can get new springs in the UK also. Speak to your dealer

Same on my car, even worse now it's freezing cold, I get a nice creaking noise when it opens!

Yes this is the same on my 370. I had the similar problem on the 350 and overcame that by removing the 'weight' fitted to the hatch lid! Is there one in a 370?

I used to put pennies in a door to go to the loo in a public toilet (cleaned that one up for you). MIne has never opened by itself. Always have to open it by hand after pressing the button.

I've had my springs supposedly replaced, things where okay for a while but now back to having to have two presses to release the boot....

my car is booked in with Nissan for Wednesday...apparently they have Nissan 'technical' down to the showroom then who may have a look at it...

Had mine in for a service last week.

 

It's in again this saturday for new parts on the Boot.

Well West Way Coventry fitted new 'lifter' springs at the recent service and it's work fine since (2 weeks).

Took mine in for a service last week and asked them to look at the boot release.

 

They confirmed it was faulty.

 

Repaired under warrenty.

Can you not get the struts re-gassed at a higher pressure? ......... just not so much to take your chin off when you press the release

I would be interested in doing this I know you can get them re-gassed but who does a slightly higher pressure?
