Agreed, chavs have ruined the best Europeon ford ever built IMO (how do they all afford them! I say europeon as i do have a soft spot for the american ford market

 

I did the cossie kit on an escort

 

but i did mine on a mark 6 with differnt rear bumper, bright paint, jap style wheels and abit more poke than a 1.1 poplar. lol So it was cossie kitted but tried to get away from that alittle too.

A friend of mine has a purple one on an M plate, 1993, I think. He bought it new had it chipped but retired it about 5 years ago with 40k on the clock. He keeps it stored, insured and in running order, reckons it's worth a fair bit and will go up in value considerably over the years.

I love the Escort Cosworth. Yeah, its image is tainted but it's still iconic and looks uber sweet and fast becoming rarer than a good nights sleep for Husky. I always wanted a Saphire 4x4 Cosworth as a kid after my exgirlfriends mother let me drive hers around a carpark when I was 17.

I had an Escort Cosworth about 6 years ago and couldnt stand it, every fooker looks at you as they stand out like a sort thumb, not overly quick (I had a st3 tuned one - 350hp) and boring as hell being 4wd. After that I sold it and bought a 2wd sapphire cossie, loads more fun at a quarter of the price!!

 

problem is with them as he's used to the reliability of a VXR he will hate this, they arent the nicest of things to drive!!
