Sarnie Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 10-12k I reckon 20k would b a bargain What do you mean 10-12k? Its up for 36k Quote
janoof1 Posted September 9, 2006 Author Posted September 9, 2006 hahah these dealers have to be retards!!!!!!!! firstly they have overpriced the car by nearly 20 grand ,but amazingly it gets worse, look closely at the flash animation of the pictures, look at the background and the two trees, -the background never changes but the car is spinning round , so these mongs actually moved the car for each external angle-instead of err walking round with the camera!!! burgershot Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 OMG T W Whites up to their old tricks again trying to pretend to Jo Public that they have special edition exclusive cars for sale without saying that all they really are are cheap imports ..... there were a lot of 'interesting' reports over on the UK RX8 forum about this lot. Sarnie Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 It looks a bit chavvy with those rims and spoiler I don't think the nismo spoiler suits the roadsters fat ass. Saw one with a oem coupe rear lip and it looked Quote

SimonD Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 Just to add tho that this is a brand new car, so it happens to be an import but the whole idea of the car being sold for under 20k is a little unreal don't you think? How much would it cost for a new 06 Roadster that's fully loaded? Also note what is included. Tiptronic, ABS Brakes, Power Steering, Central Locking, Climate Control, Electric Windows & Mirrors, Immobiliser, Alezan Orange Leather, Electric Heated Seats, 6 Disc CD & Radio Cassette, 2 x Airbags, 19†Quote

Chesterfield Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 Ive read the spec, and all I can see that it has over a UK spec GT pack is: The wheels, the bodykit and a reverse park camera. A new UK roadster would be approx £30k. But then that would have (over the car shown) A UK warranty, A stereo that is not in need of a Band expander, (or would have a factory fit stereo) Someone would need to be off their rocker to pay £36k for that. I reckon a decent price for it would be £22k given its import status\lack of warranty. Quote
Nick_MSM Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 Must be a typo surely? I would say if it really is brand new, then it's worth 24k-25 max. Check prices on the trader and a lot of dealers are asking £21-23k for a half decent JDM roadster. Quote
Sarnie Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 You wouldn't catch me paying anywhere near £20k for a JDM anything Quote

Check prices on the trader and a lot of dealers are asking £21-23k for a half decent JDM roadster. But do these include the Nismo kit or 19" wheels? Don't forget this is a brand new car with full Nismo kit. I really can't understand why people are so against the price of this, sure it's a bit pricy but perhaps by no more than 3 - 5k surely? Quote
Rob_Quads Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 You have to remember that JDM prices plummet pretty quickly. Have a look at similar JDM 2yr old cars. If they are even going for 18K which I think is the most they would do, £20,000 loss in 2 years is just not feasible. Putting it closer to the 26K would be more reasonable but still pushing it with around a 10K loss in 2 years. There is also the question of how much would it cost me to do it all myself and just import a brand new car. I bet it would not be far off the UK price but not that much more. Quote
get12 Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 ah-good old TW White - they specialise in importing MX5's so you can see the connection there and yes they are muppets - I originally (about 5 years ago), was going to purchase an imported MX5 from them (for my sins) but pulled out at the last minute as I thought the car overpriced at the time, plus I was not happy with the fact that the speedo had not been converted over to MPH. Anyway, I had put down a £500 deposit as part of a credit agreement for the car, and they refused to give the deposit back until I quoted a paragraph from the Credit Agreement Act that had been dug up from the advisors at the Consumer Direct helpline! Its simple - 36k is not the value of that car, 24k is - even with that list of specs. Also it is not the revised engine. So what if it has Tiptronic etc, as mentioned, its an import and worth less as a result. The nismo kit and wheels are only worth about 2k as an option fit. Insurance WILL be higher for it too, no warranty (manufacturer) and what happens when the tiptronic fails? Quote

Liam's Z Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 Them wheels are lovely.... well worth 36k imo Quote

I had a go in one, and felt really good Quote
