Any problems fitting it in a garage...?

I've always wanted a garage and when we moved at the end of last year it was a major factor that had to be considered when looking for the right property.

I was happy; found this lovely house, everything was perfect and it even had the garage....so chuffed. I then purchased the 350z around 3 weeks later after searching for the right one for nearly 18 months.......budget restrcitions and I'm so what of a perfectionist.

All happy............................until I realised that the Zed does JUST squeeze in the garage but I would then have to sleep in her as cannot open either door and clearly no sunroof.

Perhaps I should have gone for the Roadster. GUTTED!!! So frustrating

if i pull in straight to my garage i can;t get my fat ass out, so i pull into the left hand corner in a now perfected move, which now allows me to do a minor circus contortionist maneuver to get my fat ass out.

also have carpet on the wall so the doors don't rub on the brick

I find you cant fit much in a garage and still find it easy to get out, i had a 3 door mark 6 escort not to long ago (no jokes please, it was my pride and joy at the time) and although that fit in it was still a joke to get out! doesnt help that garages are generally about 2.4 x 4.8m. Not even going to attempt to get the 350z in it. I just used to line the car up to the garage and just push it in.. Sod doing that with a 350..

Pretty much as i expected. I imagine getting in and out of a 5 door car would be fairly easy (in comparison) but we all know the doors on the 350 dont give as much grace!

I wouldnt be too bothered about the fuss involved, if it just managed it at all as i would just plan to put it away once for a few months over the worst weather.

The problem im going to have is the hosue we are moving in to is on one of those long shared drive things and really only has room for two cars parked next to each other at the front and we currently have 3. Dont want to have to leave one at the ned of the shared drive (1 house away) really....

havent tried gettin mine in the garage yet but thinkin about it for the winter, garage is easily wide enough, prob is.. the door isnt as wide as the garage so i might still struggle.

sorry, doesnt help much with the original question.

not a chance with mine.

next door manage ok with thier 5 door fiesta.

none of my cars have gone in. (well a lie actually, got my 3 door 306 in, just couldnt get out of the car after).

my Zed has been garaged all its life so far, with this in mind, when buying i used the logic that 3 years or so living outside should not damage it too much (given that it is meant to be well built!)

The whole no going in garage thing was yet another reason not to go for a TVR when i was making my buying choice.

You will get a zed in a garage but you'd have to measurethe propesctive garages. Mine fits in easy but we have a wide garage for a single, it goes out about 1ft each side from the garage door. At my mates house his is barely an inch wider than the garage door. Soyou have to be careful as not all single garages are the same ;)

I can get the Z in my single garage without any difficulty. There's not a massive amount of room once you're inside, but with some carpet on the walls and parking slightly closer to one side rather than dead central means I can get out fairly comfortably. You might struggle if you were a slightly, err, larger gentleman shall we say!

dont suppose how long and wide a 305z is off the top of their head!?

when i finally get mine im planning to garage it to stop blooody kids and other bad drivers banging it etc!!

my garage is long enough (im guessing!) but not sure on width

when we went away i managed to get the GFs Focus in fine and get out of the door fine, but the BMW is a little tighter - im sure the 350z would be wider - need to check first!!

thanks
