  1. Now I’ve got my Z back I thought about booking it in for a full detail, they’ve told me the wax they’ll use is Fusso Coat, never heard of it before but the detailer has got good reviews so I’m in two minds. Any thoughts? id love to do it myself but I’m on nights next two shift patterns so won’t have time unfortunately
  2. Hi all. Finally got the car back yesterday, it’s had a good job done on it and you cannot tell at all, four alloys refurbished and all fitted with new tyres as well. There is one problem though, the daytime running lights aren’t working. After they plugged their diagnostic laptop into it to read the fault apparently this has been disabled by the ODB Unit (I have no idea what this is at all) and recommended I take it direct to Nissan to see if they can re-enable it and run a diagnostic check, they would then fix it through the insurance claim. Does this sound right and make sense Or am I being fobbed off? Really want them fixing but I don’t want to pay a fortune to Nissan for them to run a check. let me know your thoughts, thanks!
  3. Oh they also mentioned about EMC and resetting bump damage from it -I don’t know what that means but should I be concerned? Apparently it’s stored from the bumper impact
  4. Sorry for the belated reply Its been back and forth with insurance/repairer so I’m starting to get a bit fed up to be honest, they told me a week ago I’d have it back by yesterday but now it’s another week in this crappy courtesy car Checked the offside and an alloy was curbed hitting the wall but nothing major, they are refurbishing all of my wheels so that’s bonus I suppose, but tyres need to be replaced due to degradation, they won’t foot the Bill for MPSS4s even though I said I’d pay whatever was on top I was adamant I didn’t want runflats so they are putting four fresh Pirelli P-0 on them so I’m quite happy cos they are paying, no idea what they are like though? All parts replaced and my partner says it looks good (she drives past the garage everyday on her way to work so I asked her to just nip in and have a gander) My other thought was will they try and wash/valet it? I just don’t want them doing any paint damage with the crap weather we have had Ill get pictures up when I get the old girl home...........
  5. It’s going through neighbours insurance, they’ve said they’ll ring me if it has to be recorded, just gutted it happened but I bet he is too and he’s been really good about it all
  6. Aftermath when our lass took pictures
  7. Been a rough Christmas working through it and if things couldn’t get worse I woke up to this after my last night shift To me it looks like wing is slightly bent in, bumper crushed, headlight bottle knackered, and light is cracked Not my fault, neighbours 40k Porsche slid down the drive and nailed into my Z, it’s booked in to get repaired when they collect it Tuesday, my concern is will they write it off or even make it a Cat N?
  8. @ZMANALEX I think we posted at roughly the same time mate, but thanks for your input, I’ll put the alignment on hold for now @davey_83 I think I’ll give that a go in the meantime before I price up tyres, cheers again, thanks for all your input and advice, it’s appreciated it feels like a different car to be fair, I knew the ride would be more harsh on bigger wheels and lower profile tyres but I could live with that as the looks outweighed it, but it just doesn’t feel right and I can’t give it the burst every now and again it deserves
  9. I’ve come from the 18” (mine came with non-GT alloys) so a decent jump Im gonna see if I can book it in for alignment tomorrow to see what that does, hopefully an easy fix. Just come on school run and it’s weird at 60mph, pulling and tramlining, daren’t go any quicker Failing the alignment I’ll look at tyres...
  10. Thanks for all your input, appreciated I might take it to the garage to double check balancing/tracking cos it won’t cost much in the first place but it sounds like I’ll be pricing some different tyres sooner than I had planned, unless anyone else has experienced similar?
  11. That’s the plan after Christmas coldel, but as I don’t do much miles at the minute I thought I’d use them Surely just having runflats wouldn’t cause tramlining!? I never had it in previous BMWs etc. strange one....
  12. Hi Stu No, the tyres haven’t been changed as they are still good and have plenty of miles left in them They are Bridgestone Potenza run flats that are on them at the moment
  13. Hey all, Ive recently bought and fitted some GTR 20” alloys to my 370z, they fit perfect with no spacers and really give the car a more aggressive look - really happy with them... however Wheh I am now driving it feels like the car is tramlining a lot causing erratic steering, luckily I haven’t had to go far in the car with lockdown but really want to get this sorted, I daren’t drive the car at any speed really and am great full I only do the school run nowadays! Ive checked the tyre pressure and set them all to 34 PSI but it has made no difference, I got my dad to fit them whilst I was in Hospital so it has crossed my mind they aren’t tight enough but he assures me they are and I don’t have the tools to tighten then further. Do any of you have any ideas? Could it be tracking/balancing? Curious to hear your thoughts Thanks
  14. Hey all im planning on buying some 20” alloys with tyres for my 370z but it means me collecting them does anyone think/know if x4 20” rims would fit in a 370z? Or would I need to take my dads Mondeo with me instead? im thinking two in the boot easily with the shelf thing collapsed, one on the passenger seat with seat as far forward as it will go, and the last behind passenger seat...... or perhaps two on the passenger seat side by side as far back as it will go? under no illusions it won’t be a tight fit but is it doable? I don’t want to get there and realise I’ve got to do two trips, it’s only an hour away but rather do it properly first time look forward to your thoughts or you telling me I’m mad for even thinking about it hahaha
  15. Curious to see if anyone on here has done it? ive seen a few pictures from either the US or Australia but I’m not sure....... having seen a cheap set for sale I thought 20s might look good and better than my stock 18s, few questions: - - do the wheels rub at all? - what tyre size is best for them? - what offset are they compared to stock 370 wheels? - do they need spacers? any help or advice would be appreciated, girlfriend wants the kitchen fitting but now I’ve seen these wheels I might have to have these as a bargaining chip! Thanks
  16. Hi all, Seen some parking sensor fittings, front and rear for the 370 (mine didn't have them standard). Has anyone else fitted after market ones? Is it an easy job? Im no mechanic but know a good lad that may be able to do this for me, just curious as to others thoughts and any do's/dont's Look forward to your opinions
  17. cheers Alex, youve swayed me now!!!!! how much are those please mate?
  18. brilliant - thanks for all your help lads ill see what pay-day brings and may end up plumping for them, gotta look better than my standard ones at the minute!
  19. Morning all, I am after some different alloy wheels for my 370z as the ones i have are the 18" 'flower-like' ones from a non-GT. Noticed a set of Nismo Rays from a 2018 370z Nismo with x4 MPS4 tyres, all alloys in very good condition and tyres very nearly new - what would the going rate be for these do you think? I know it is dependent on what somebody would pay for them but just gauging your expert opinions I am guessing with them being a 2018 Nismo they are the V2 set? I like both the V1 and V2 Nismo alloys to be fair and would be a nice upgrade to what i currently have! Also does anyone have a picture of the V2 Nismo alloys on a standard 370z? Ive trawled Google Images but they all show them on a Nismo (obviously!) Cheers
  20. Is this at all possible? Managed to give my new 370 a quick rinse and wash earlier before i started on nights and cannot get to do it properly for a week now. However, it took me that long to drag the hosepipe from the back of our house to the front that i wanted to give up half way through! I love washing the car but it just seemed like such a chore and i was fed up trying to un-kink it and wrap it back up, weather was beaming too so it was drying quick and i didn't want the 'blotch' marks anywhere so felt like i rushed it. Surely there is another solution? Something that i can easily transport to the front driveway and give it the first rinse of water before a clean and then to rinse it to remove the bubbles? Ive got a K4 but it wont stretch that far around our house. Any ideas? First time in a long while where i am not looking forward to cleaning the car because of the faff!!
  21. Sorry to start another thread, but thought it easiest and quickest (tell me if im wrong) Took ownership of a 65 plate 370z last Sunday and the alloy wheels are 18" - is this normal? did they make them smaller for the newer version as i always thought they were 19"? I don't know the correct tyre sizes yet until i get home from work but they are definitely 18" - readin other posts about the original Rays alloys for sale on here show they are 19" so im confused!?!?! Mine are like a flower (similar to Alfa's style) rather than the older Z's spoke style Ill try and get some photos if the weather isnt back when i get home about 7pm but not sure if i am missing something or being stoopid!
  22. Thanks lads, i love it Just been out for a run and fill up (its a bigger tank and thirstier than the BRZ) and loved every second. Quick question; the front bumper lights - are these LED do you think, they dont look like reflectors to me, but i cant seem to get them turned on, unless they activate at night when lights are set to 'Auto'? Also, on the instrument panel where it shows you the gear you are in a small S in the top right, assume this is the Rev Synchro being active at the time of driving? I havent looked in the manual yet, been busy sorting bits and bobs out for it. Thanks,
  23. Back in the Z Gang and couldn't be happier! After nearly 6 years since selling my Azure 350z when my daughter arrived i have been yearning for another one ever since, but when the family changed to 3, childseats were needed, along with the daily daily school runs ,it just wasn't practical so changed to a BMW 330i. It was a good practical 'family' car but then things started going a bit sour with various faults and it was costing me money, so chopped that for a 130d which again was fun quick and did the things i needed. Unfortunately with that one (as you can see i don't have much look with BMW's) a removal van decided to plough into the back of me one night after work and wrote it off. I threatened to get another Z but the other half pleaded with me not to, and she won...... but we did compromise and i persuaded her that a Subaru BRZ did indeed have four seats (for what the rear ones were worth!) and we went for a WRC Blue BRZ. Absolutely brilliant little car, liked it a lot, got people asking what it was as there are not many abou, and it made it feel like that little Z feeling i used to get....... there was just one problem, they arent the quickest, and it started to grind me down some days but i didnt let on. Things changed, we lost the dog so no need to ferry him around, i only did the school runs when i was not working shifts, and eventually i secured a new job, and a nice decent pay rise, and i was caught a few times on the iPad looking at 370z's and Helen just used to laugh and say 'in your dreams' (cos sometimes i had the Nismo ones open, but i had to have a dream!) My daughter is about to turn 6 and if we do go out as a family we used the Mrs' car so i only had the BRZ at weekends, no i thought is the time! Was close to viewing a few older ones, 2010 and 2011 plates, but something was putting me off paying x amount for a 10year old car. One popped up on a website cheap and new enough for me and i thought ive nothing to lose - gave them a call and said how serious i am and what could we do with a cash sale. After a few hours of deliberating between us both he eventually knocked a severe amount off i were to buy this weekend, now, all i had to do was get the Mrs to drive me to fetch it. After being a little apprehensive we set off to fetch it from Derby and as soon as she saw it she knew it was more car than the BRZ, could tell in her little face. I was asked to test drive it so i (reluctantly) threw her the keys and said 'go on have a go you might like it' and off the went. 10mins later she was back and replied 'yeah its OK get it if you want!' So i am now the proud owner of a 65 plate Graphite Grey Nissan 370z with 46k on the clock, pic below: - What do you all think!? Did i do well paying £13k for her? I think i got a bit of a bargain if i am honest. Bodywork is immaculate, but a tiny few marks on the alloys, dont bother me that much yet though. It doesnt have the sat-nav unit in it anyway but i do a 9mile round trip to work, and 6mile round trip to school so it didnt bother me one bit, just not sure what to do with thee cubby part - any suggestions? 2 previous owners, along with four services, but heres the bad part - the service book has been 'misplaced' and nobody can find it. Am i right in thinking if i contact Nissan they can get me a new one and pre-print it with the previous services or am i making that up? I think i read it somewhere that you can do that. Its not dirty enough to wash yet and i am back at work Saturday but Sunday its going for a blast out across the Pennines with my mate and his RS5 and ill wash it afterwards. Chuffed to bits at the minute, it drives smoother and more fluid than the BRZ, and there are no little rattles that it had too, so i am more than pleased with it. Matilda wanted to put her child seat in as soon as we got back saying 'thats my seat mummy, youll have to go in the boot!'
  24. I am back i a Z ill put up a new post in 370z forum soon with pictures pleased as punch this morning :)
  25. thanks lads I know what you mean about the colour there is a 10 plate in ale Mans blue but it’s done 68k and is an auto so mileage and gearbox putting me off!
