I've got an 2004 UK Zed and the indicator stalk is on the left-hand side ... Every car I've owned before the Zed were imports and the indicators were on the right-hand side ... I wasnt bothered as i knew i was puttin the nismo kit on it soon never knew it was an import. it looks like a uk though. Im just not as knowledgable as some of you. I am now though. rtbiscuit Posted January 1, 2010 Share Posted January 1, 2010 shouldn't be a hugr issue if you paid import price for it. i'm more concerned that the garage sold you it and advertised it as something else. and with mixed advertising, is everything else as it should be. if its an import, why is it showing up as a UK car. did you HPI check it? never hear dof that garage, so i don't know what their reputation is like. drob Posted January 1, 2010 Author Share Posted January 1, 2010 I noticed t didnt hav cruise control, they just said it was a coputer error coz they get info of the system, the young lad that sold it said it was uk. I wud never have paid 11.5k if i knew it was an import. Love the car dont get me wrong, its just a shock, seen as i bought it and found out its sumut else. I hav a nice long list of what the car dont have now. only done 60 miles in it. It does not cover anything 'Electrcal' and only up to £250 But when I had a problem "A polite strong letter" worked,they sent me a cheque to cover my costs. Trev-the-Rev Posted January 2, 2010 Share Posted January 2, 2010 If you are at all unhappy with the car then I would be looking to get a full refund on the grounds of being sold something that is not what was described both in the advert and verbally by the salesman. Sarnie Posted January 2, 2010 Share Posted January 2, 2010 The problem is that the advert doesn't say its a UK or an import, and proving what the salesman said will be difficult/impossible......the chances are that they didn't know either and took it in in a px. The description will just be a spec generated by a generic computer based system. Its defo an import though, it has no steering wheel buttons at all. sunset350z Posted January 2, 2010 Share Posted January 2, 2010 Just read through this thread, what a bummer mate. I,ve seen loads of import 350z's falsely advertised as UK. In fact i don't know if thats the same garage, but i fired an email to them the other day asking why they advertised the car with cruise when you could see clearly that it didn't have any buttons on the steering wheel. Also had UK bumpers so it was very difficult for a newbie to tell the difference. Anyway had an email back saying that they made a mistake about advertising it with cruise and said its sold now. These garages should know better and shouldn't get away with it. The trouble with your car is, its had a lot of work done to it and you don't know if its been in an accident. There's no real reason to change the bumpers to UK spec unless its been brought over to this country as a damaged repairable Did you get the service history book? I doubt it, but if you did it should show that its not a uk model. If it does say its UK then i would check its authenticity as its quite easy to get hold of these books and put false info in them. (This would be perfect ammo against the garage) Whatever happens though, kick up enough fuss and threaten them with trading standards etc, they should take the car back. nixy Posted January 2, 2010 Share Posted January 2, 2010 As long as the car hasn't had cosmetic work done because of any accident damage then maybe the best way to go would be to come try to come to an agreement where you get some money back from them. If the car's fine then keep it but don't pay a penny more than you would for an import, which it clearly is. Absolutely nothing wrong with it being an import other than it should be cheaper than a UK car. You might be able to fund some mods with the extra cash? sunset350z Posted January 2, 2010 Share Posted January 2, 2010 Don't get me wrong Nic, i've got nothing against imports but when his car has been altered to look like a UK car then that sets alarm bells ringing. I can't see any money advantage by fitting UK bumpers other than they were fitted (in this country) due to accident damage. Maybe worth getting a vehicle inspection on this car, and if all ok at least it puts your mind at rest. I know one or two people have come on here asking about changing bumpers to uk just because of the way the prefer to look but on the whole it would raise major suspicions to me too! I would say it needs a full inspection and yeah I reckon about a grand too! If its all ok then that money could be very handy and he still has a nice car. I doubt very much if they had anything to do with concealing the cars identity as they have a good rep amoungst the high end car fraternity.
