don't know much about either,

i know that Team AFM at martlesham do this kind of stuff as well and they have a rolling road etc. might be worth a ring to see what they can do. might be that they aren't right for this particular job, but it won't hurt to try.

Hey guys thanks for the fast reply!

Advancedme thanks taking interest in my car. Looks like you guys are near me....My only questions and concerns are have you guys worked on 350z's and are you guys familiar with UTEC?!?!?!

I keep getting mixed reviews about thor also!?!??!

TDI i hear good things....plus the wife will love the idea as it is right next to ikea lol

The issues I am having is that I seem to be experiencing some misfire...during wot under boost i get this stutter action building boost. I have the christmas tree lights aem a/f guage so I cant get anything accurate but it is running very rich. I looked at the spark plugs checked gaps and changed them for ngk 1 step colder....still same issue. What i have noticed lately is that my oil gauge doesnt read much pressure. I suspect a faulty oil solenoid somewhere!?!?!?

I am currently running 8psi.....i want to have it tuned for 10psi daily on 99 octane and a 12 psi with meth kit map for the 1320.

Sub Zero,

Have we worked on 350Zs? Yes (760bhp 420Z twin turbo, 435bhp Supercharged, 305bhp Normally aspirated are just some of the cars we have mapped)

Have we used UTEC before? No, but we are confident we will be able to do it. As long as we have the communications cable and software we will be able to tune it. We are not ECU specific here and map all types of Electronic controllers. We've never been introduced to a system that we can't master. Luckily all engines obey the same laws of physics so the tuning is irrespective of ECU Brand :-)

It sounds like you may just be running TOO rich. If its showing lower than 11 then its a possibility. I've also replaced at least 10 Ignition coil packs in the last 12 months on different 350s so it may also be worth replacing them with new ones if you can afford it.

Let me know if you would like to pop over sometime.

:)

While i find the comment you made about engines being the same obviously true.... the OS of the UTEC is very.....MS DOS like lol....not really user friendly lol

But im excited to say I want AdvancedME to look at my car! I took a look at the website and I like it. Whats funny is you guys have worked or dealt with my next project....v10 :)

MS DOS stylee is just fine, if its good enough for the old Motecs its good enough for the UTEC! You'll also be pleased to hear that all of my laptops have serial connections!

So you like Vipers? We've done quite a few in the last 12 months mostly supercharged but all on standalone ECUs! I didn't used to like them but after working, driving and weighing them (Near enough 50/50 distribution) i really like them! I recommend them highly!

Not Thor. Despite their rep with the MR2 boys, previous experience (and current ones with mates) means that I'd never send anyone there if they can help it.

i wont mension any names as i know my mate wouldnt appreciate it, but he spent +£5k with thor and after 4 months the engine went pop, after further investigation it was odviosly det, but they denied it and had a hell of a fuss, went to court etc, got sorted eventually but a huge amount of hastle

think bennet used thor and had good results, double check though

He hasn't been there yet :)

I have :) Can't really say much about them because my UTEC was faulty

I have been there Ian just not had a proper mapping session just live map check and data logging with the D1 controller  But my utec was mapped on a similarly modded zed by Peter and it is faultless on my car so far. looking forward to fine tune and final dyno pulls

I would recommend them since they are the only Utec licence tnnig shop in the UK and seem a good bunch :snack:

Never heard there was an option to rear mount a turbo system...

You got some pics of you ride?

http://www.ststurbo.com/universal_turbo_systems

Who originally installed this for you?

Have you dont any other mods on the car, will that engine cope with such high boost levels on standard internals?

Gobsmacked at the setup to be honest, not sure how it works etc... would 10psi rear mounted ass turbo be a lower pressure on normally mounted turbo?

:snack: more info on your ride please.
