nurrish Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 Sucks to be owner of this GTR....Wasn't there someone on here after gtr wheels Quote
nurrish Posted September 25, 2009 Author Posted September 25, 2009 But i think it will look awfully suspicious if someone's none gtr car suddenly has gtr wheels on Quote
rtbiscuit Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 those bricks under the sills aren't going to be good either. i'm guessing no locking wheel nuts were fitted? Quote
fatalus Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 Judging from the rust in the discs, the car must have been immobile more than a couple of days. Couple this with the probable absence of locking wheel nuts and here is the result... Btw...doesn't the GTR have locking wheel nuts by default?? Quote

If someone wants your wheels bad enough a couple of locking wheel nuts wont get in the way. Quote
fatalus Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 Out of curiosity, how much does Nissan charge for replacement GTR wheels and tyres??? Quote
Tarmac@TarmacSportz Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 Thats bad I need locking nuts for my Nismos I reckon.... Does anyone know if I need special ones for Nismos as I needed a special attachment for the wrench PS if I wake up tomorrow and my wheels are gone I will know its one of you !!! Quote
rtbiscuit Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 guys i just found these fantastic nismo 19's wheels in derby, got them for a real bargin price, some one had left them lying around tarmac i heard you need a set do you want to buy them off me Quote
Tarmac@TarmacSportz Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 Noooo I cant sleep now Keep looking out the window but its very dark I guess I know where I will be sleeping Quote
BulletMagnet Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 those bricks under the sills aren't going to be good either. i'm guessing no locking wheel nuts were fitted? How the hell did you become a teacher? With that keen sense of observation, you should be the head of Police in no time... I'm suprised they didn't nick the calipers while they were there... Mind you, couple of battery powered torque guns and couple of guys, prolly all over in less than 5 mins. Quote
Chesterfield Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 May not have had standard gtr wheels? Still, at least they have liberal gun laws in the US. Something o hope the owner takes advantage of when/if they find those responsible. Quote
Beavis Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 Shocking. But did it have locking wheel nuts? If they did could not have been very good. Quote
BulletMagnet Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 Did actually look at the nuts and on the pics from the rear straight on there are actually 5 nuts in view on the left side. I agree on the comment that they may have been non-standard wheels, as the exhaust looks like an aftermarket item also... Quote
Pimm Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 Sooo sad I am glad mine is in the garage every night Quote
cookiemonster Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 Same thing happened to my bmw with M3 wheels, locking nuts wont do a thing if people want them bad enough. Simple to drill them out, the guys in Sheffield were ridiculous, a gang of them took off the wheels from 7 cars on differant streets and stole the stereo systems without setting off alarms. Now thats professional Quote
Toon Chris Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 Locking nuts are a deterrent for rat-boy thieves only. They can be removed in seconds with the correct tool which is easy and not that pricey to buy - and that is any locking nut. Quote
BulletMagnet Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 Yeah, remember the "Gator-Grip" the socket that could remove all sorts of nuts and broken nuts too. They were for sale for like £9.99 from shopping channels, until they must have realized what else could be done with them. Haven't seen them on sale for a couple of years tho... Quote

Adam@Z1auto.com Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 the wheels are bone stock, car belongs to someone I know. It is an inconvenience for sure, but that's why we have insurance, so that things like this don't end up coming out of pocket Quote
rik Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 Thats a nasty site, we just had a R35 in our place for a tracker! Beautiful i want one! Quote
