SunGodRA Posted July 4, 2009 Posted July 4, 2009 Maybe I am a bit sad - but I have given all my cars a 'name' My 1st car was a Ford Capri 3ltr S - I called her 'Lady Penelope' - was printed on the number plate (underneath the reg) - I have named all my cars since I even bought a boat a few years back, and named it - I bought it the day Frank Sinatra died so called it 'My Way' Had my Zed 2 years now, but havent named it yet - I am into to Ancient Egyptian theme (hense my user name) but haven't thought of anything suitable yet - any ideas? Any other saddo's out there that name their cars? Quote
srobrien Posted July 4, 2009 Posted July 4, 2009 currently mine is called "vacuumus void into which all of my spare cash gets sucked into oblivion" or zeddy for short R Quote
markie Posted July 4, 2009 Posted July 4, 2009 My zed is called Ozzy as OZ is in the reg plate. I too have named the majority of my cars over the years!! Quote
nixy Posted July 4, 2009 Posted July 4, 2009 love the way you blame Laura - you know it was you really! Mine is called nemo. My CTR was called Henry Honda. Quote
SunGodRA Posted July 4, 2009 Author Posted July 4, 2009 I was considering calling it 6th (see signature) - bit of sci-fi there - seven of nine etc (Star Trek etc, which I am also into) but I also want to try and build its name into a private reg - S1 XTH is not available (The main reason for wanting a private reg is to hide the year of the car, mine is 2002) Quote
Jay Posted July 4, 2009 Posted July 4, 2009 Isn't that one of the many reasons why woman where put on this planet nix? To blame someone else bar yourself ....................... Quote
rtbiscuit Posted July 4, 2009 Posted July 4, 2009 mine aren't named as such but all of them have been girls my first car was tempremental, and broke down at the smallest thing my second car was great to ride, but had complex issues that didn't make sense, but were gone by the next day my third car was stunning but very unforgiving if you didn't treat her right. my forth was nice but there wasn't much there and i got bored quickly and started looking at other models within 6 months my fifth car is the zed - shes' definatly a girl, shes high maintanence as i seem to spend all my money on her and i treat ehr better than my own mother. as for names i tend to refer to them all as baby. first car - "come on baby just a couple more miles, please don't break here" second car " yeah baby, faster whoo hoo" haven't really called any of the other ones baby Quote

TheOracle Posted July 5, 2009 Posted July 5, 2009 My wife used to call me 'Dastardly' on occasion, so my Clio Sport 182 was called 'Mutley'. I loved whacky races as a nipper My Z is called 'THE BEAST' Quote
Walbertonio Posted July 5, 2009 Posted July 5, 2009 I don't do it personally, but a friend of mine had some quality names for a series of ancient polo's he had back in the day - from Princess to The Bullet. Many's the Damon Hill starts we tried, 5 fat blokes in the car, all shouting Hill Hill Hill! - I'm sure you can guess how far 45bhp propelled us. Quote
Maccaman Posted July 5, 2009 Posted July 5, 2009 Never named any of my cars except my first, Ford Escort, which was called "Dagenham Dustbin" Unfortunately I lost my cat "Macca" on Friday after he was hit by a car. He was the inspiration behind my user name, so from now on the Zed will be known as "Macca". Quote
Vik54 Posted July 5, 2009 Posted July 5, 2009 Yup - she's called Saffy (Azure = Sapphire) my partner and several friends are disgusted - but I think it suits Quote
